  1. Which sailing are you on? We are on the Sea departing July 23rd. I just read another post that our substitute excursion was someones favorite of the entire trip. fingers crossed! :):)

I have been very upset about missing the Flam excursion! I wish Viking would run 2 excursions that day instead of one so more of us could go. We also signed up for the Voss to Geilo Bergen Train Excursion. Before signing up, I questioned on TripAdvisor if anyone knew if the scenery would be worth the money. Most of the responses were positive that scenery was great. ( 2 or 3 responses were from people who live in Norway.) I think it's our best option and hopefully will turn out better than we know!
  2. We were very disappointed to miss out on the Flam Railway excursion in Eidfjord and booked the Voss, Geilo and Bergen railway instead. Anyone give us feedback on whether it was worth the price $418 (a couple) seems steep for a tour. We realize it i once in a lifetime, but want to be sensible with our travel budget?! :D

  3. we are excited to be aboard the Viking Sea for the Viking Homeland tour leaving July 23. We are not able to see excursions yet, and are very interested in what is available in St. Petersburg. We want to do it all (grand tour), and interested in the size of group and cost from Viking. We have been very pleased with river cruise excursions, but this is a different animal. Any feedback/advice from you seasoned travellers? ;)

  4. Haven't cruised in a while. Love RCL and are Emerald. We would like to try a Christmas Family Cruise....I am looking at the Freedom, 12/23/16. We have difference in income levels with families, and looking for the way to get our best cost for those that will struggle...book as a group? Individually? Best time? I have used an agent - that I was not happy with - what is the best way to find one? Just beginning at this point. I can't imagine anywhere that I could have more fun with the grandkids!

Thanks in advance for any help!

  5. Thanks a lot. I am happy to help others learn the "tricks of the tirade." It always surprises me how many people cruise without doing any research at all, and then they complain when things aren't to their liking.

I will be posting links to all my Reflection albums in the next few days - just need to make sure they are all properly organized (almost said cataloged - librarian joke!!)

Leaving next week for an awesome 7 days on the Reflection. So enjoyed your review and photo tour...(our son is a librarian, I see the signs...!)

    Loved it all...

  6. Love my Zumba and did a couple of classes on the Ruby Princess last month. It is true that the instructors make a big difference, but it is also true that an hour of zumba burns those extra calories no matter what. Loved having it - certainly with all the followers RCL will add it! (at no cost, btw)...

  7. Just wanted to post and say what a wonderful time we had in St Martin on our sunset sail with the "Random Wind". Di was great, Captain Trevor also. Our group of 8 contracted for a private sail, had a marvelous time...but we all wished we had done the all - day excursion. If you have the time it would be so fun, and a great bargain. Our two hours was not enough! If we make it back we all agree to spend the day on the Random Wind..
