With states now requesting that visitors from specific hot-spot states quarantine, including a question that names those states is far more relevant IMHO.

Ohio is on the naughty list for NY, NJ & CT. We returned there from NC & VA 10 days ago. We had planned a visit to DD & family in the Charleston SC area, another hot-spot, but DGS came home from his job with a fever/chills and fatigue a few days prior to our scheduled arrival so we opted to head home. He was + but no one else in the immediate family contracted C-19. Luckily he had mild symptoms, though we were very worried since he is Type 1, and is out of quarantine.

When DH went to the Apple store last week, he was required to complete a similar questionnaire to the OP's and had his temp taken before he could enter.

I guess I don't understand any of the abreviaions like DD,OP,DH,DGS.  What do they stand for?

  2. I have had 9 cruises cancelled since this all started.  I have a back to back scheduled bon the Enchantment out of Galveston for Sept 17-25 and Sept 25- Oct 2.  And then Oct 4-11 on Liberty and then the repositioning of the Adventure from NJ to Galveston for Nov 5-16.  Also 2 in December.  As well as quite a few next year.

I just hope to start cruising again soon, but not sure it will happen.

I might just keep forwarding my FCC to other dates.

  3. Royal gave all cruisers that were affected by hurricane Harvey out of Galveston on Liberty our 7 points.  But of course we were all t9d cruise was not cancelled and we weren't cancelled until the day of departure.  We were forced to go into a hurricane area or loose our money if you booked non refundable.  And also there was a class action suit filed because of Royal's action.  I chose not to join the suite, but I did get a few perks the next two weeks on the last 2 of my 3 weeks.  But only after I asked.

The Carnivalization of Royal Caribbean!  They realized Carnival was making a bundle on their Faster to the Fun program and came up with the Key to make Carnival passengers feel at home on RCCL without earning any benefits.  As a Diamond on both lines it ticks me off, having invested about $130,000 in cruises to have the guy  on his first cruise with the inside cabin that cost $500 for 2 people, getting many of the same perks I get when I book a suite on RCCL for $4000 or more.

Well said, you get my point exactly.

I am not furious. And did not encounter furious D + members either.

In our case, we have cruised and will cruise to enjoy ourselves, not earn perks and medals. I feel you are not enjoying your cruises one bit if you are getting so "furious".

No one knows how I feel.  I love cruising, but feel that RC has let us down as "Loyal Royals". They are the ones that encourage  us to cruise more with promise of perks, then take them away.

Wow, the attitudes of several posters this page!  Why the anger for those with a very special status? Why the anger for those with the Key? Why is removing tips relevant?

For Heaven’s sake, people, Get along with each other.  This is the Holiday season.  Be thankful you are Alive, and able to cruise.

I will stop now.  I have stated my complaint.  Let those who want to pay more do so.  Happy cruising.

On many occasions we have witnessed queues of people stopping their tips at GS and gloating about the money they saved.

I wonder if they purchased The KEY?

Lol,. Grapau27, you have a point.  We always tip over and above the gratuities charged.  I too have seen this and heard people talk about having the gratuities removed.  Sad situation.  I should just let those who want to pay for the "Key" do so.  They probably won't have that option for much longer based on all the reviews out there.

We have just got off a 15 night Princess cruise.

The food was much better than RC and we never needed to go to the speciality restaurants like we do on Royal for better food and service.

The waiter service in the dining room was far superior to RC.

There was several bar waiters in every bar and roaming bar waiters around the pool areas.

As a Princess Elite member we got priority boarding, had a free one time mini bar set up,10% discount in every shop, priority tender and  free drinks at a captains cocktail party.

As a D+ member on Royal we now have a limited choice of free drinks in the DL and continuous loss of perks.

Someone could be on their first cruise in the cheapest cabin but buy KEY and get priority on certain things over D and D+.

I hope you read this Mr Bayley and realise it is a mistake to upset your most loyal guests.

This Princess cruise was better than any of our 30 RC cruises for food and service.

Finally someone who understands where I am coming from.  It doesn't seem to mean anything to RC for the "Loyal to Royal" passengers.  We made Diamond in 4 years, no suites and no single cruising.  And made Diamond plus in leads than 5 years. We are almost half way to Pinnacle at right at 6 years cruising.  All RC, but getting a little tired of having to ask for all the earned perks. There has not been one cruise that I haven't had to ask for my room perks, even the cookies sometimes.

Hubby and I just turned 50, daughter just turned 22, we are all diamond.

If we turn up to the port and we get an exclusive line or a perk, we see it as a bonus, not an entitlement, you only get these things because RC give you them, just the same as RC can take them away...you sail the ships because you like them, or the itinerary not for what you can get.

We have earned these perks they were not given to us.  I have paid for these so called perks.  You are welcome to forfeit your perks if you wish since you think they were "given" to us.  Live a little longer and learn.

So... let's look at it from Royal Caribbean's point of view.

People are willing to pay extra for the Key in order to get priority boarding.

People are willing to pay extra for a suite and the privileges that come with a suite, including priority boarding.

You are a Diamond member. Something that you have paid nothing for. You are still going to sail with RCI as you obviously like their ships and itineraries, otherwise you wouldn't have made it to Diamond or Diamond+ in the first place. You are still getting things for nothing for being Diamond, such as the free drinks.

You are not going to stop sailing with RCI just because you lose priority boarding, because if you go to another cruise line, you won't get the priority boarding anyway (unless you also have a high enough status with them).

So, with your RCI executive hat on, which passengers are you giving priority boarding to?

The "Key" passengers can continue with their special perks, as well as the "Suite"and "Pennacle" members.   Just saying they have taken one of our earned perks away.  I am not "young" as outlined by some of you, but I have earned my status and plan to fight for what I have earned. ( And paid for on the long run).  I hope more furious diamond plus members have the nerve to speak up.

We have "earned"these perks as listed under the different levels.  We have "paid" for these so called perks many times over.  You obviously haven't been in the diamond lounge lately, because every diamond and Diamond plus members is furious.  You are welcome to give up all your perks as you wish.

I've never seen a 25 or 30 minute security queue.  I must be lucky or maybe some security equipment failed on your day forcing everyone through one metal detector.

When I sailed on Liberty as a Diamond I was through security in under a minute.  That was the general line because in 2018 Diamonds weren't allowed to use the suite line for my sailing.

The reason general security line takes so long is new cruisers.  They bring all their luggage and aren't prepared with any of their paperwork when they get to the front of long twisting line.

  13. Is any one else furious about Royal Caribbean taking away priority boarding for Diamond and Diamond plus members on Liberty of the Seas?

We have been put in the general boarding line instead of our own line like we had back last spring.

They have given the "Key" passengers access to board with Pinnacle and Suite passengers and put the Diamond and Diamond plus members in general line.

Just one more thing that Royal Caribbean has taken away from us.

Wise up Royal Caribbean, we have paid more for our ammenities that we have earned than any "Key" cruiser will.

Stop taking our earned ammenities from us.

Maybe we need to bombard Royal Caribbean with complaints.
