The ship, itinerary and date(s) of your cruise would be helpful, in order to provide a more specific answer to your query.

Hi Rob - We're doing the 10 day Stockholm - Copenhagen cruise with stops in Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga, Visby (Sweden), Rostock (Germany) and Malmo (Sweden).   I've been so focused on what to actually do in each Port that I haven't bothered to figure out how close the dock is to the city centers and how much time to allow to get to the sites.

  2. Does Crystal provide shuttles from ports into town when it is not a reasonable walking distance (say over 1 mile)?    I seem to recall OC provided this service.   We have a cruise planned for August and, as we don't plan on doing Crystal Excursions in every port, want to know if we have to arrange/book our own transportation into the cities/towns where necessary.

  3. Am eagerly looking forward to our first cruise with NC next summer so, for fun, logged into my account and was surprised to see a room/suite number already assigned to our Guaranteed booking.   Problem is, it is a 3 digit number so doesn't align with any of the suite numbers one sees when looking at the Symphony deck plans (all are 4 digits such as 7040, 8042...).    Any thoughts?  Should I be looking at the last 2 digits to determine location (with floor TBD) or is this merely a code/placeholder that only means something to NC and I truly will have to wait til we're a couple of weeks away from sailing?

  4. I've been struggling on whether to hike or bike down with my husband when we visit in July. Leaning towards hiking down as walking bikes down, along with our backpacks and camera, for the first 3rd of the trip does not sound like fun. That, and the fact that neither of us have been on bikes for close to 20 years we don't want to risk an accident/injury that will impact the rest of our trip! As it will be a slower trek than with bikes, I feel it will give us more time to really soak in the scenery. Thankfully, we were able to book one way tickets to Myrdal already (we're on the 9:40 train) such that we'll have over 6 hours to do the 12 mile walk and get back to the ship.
