  1. Hi,

Heading to St. Maarten in December while on Symphony of the Seas.   Looking to book a private tour for 13 people. (ages 12-80)

So far all the tours look like they travel in a van- which could get pretty crowded with 13 of us...

We went on a tour in the Dominican and the operator had a larger bus  that could fit 20 people - so we were comfortable.

    Wondering if anyone has suggestions?

  2. Hi,

Does anyone know who to contact in RC Customer  Service with a voice of reason?  Do I just keep asking for supervisor after supervisor?

    Here's my dilemma:

    - 3/20 my family and I cancelled our cruise (booked through a travel agent) HOURS before Royal pulled the plug

    - This left me only with a future cruise credit.

-My sister (sharing a cabin) disputed her charge with credit card and won.  She's good now.

    - I disputed the charge too with my credit card company and lost.   Ok, no big deal- I have a Future Cruise credit...

    - Fast forward many months- I booked October 2021 cruise fully thinking I would "simply" use my FCC for part of the cost.

    - WRONG....

    - turns out my FCC is INACTIVE and not accessible because I disputed the charge?  (I have letter from the bank stating my case is closed and they placed the charge for the cruise back on my credit card)

    - yes, I know that sounds really odd and probably illegal BUT you see- Royal won't talk to me because my 3/20 cruise was booked through a travel agent- who has since RETIRED!

    - I called the parent company (Cruise One)  the retired travel agent was associated with- and well- they aren't helpful at all- which I kind of understand since the person answering the phone didn't do the booking and won't get credit for my next booking either.

    - Today my final payment for October was due.  I went ahead and paid it and still have some INACTIVE FCC floating out there?

Has this happened to anyone else?   How did you resolve it?

    Thank you,

    Kim

  3. Hello! Setting sail for my first time on MSC 6/9 with the Fantastica experience and have a few questions!

    1. My booking says preferred dining... when do I get the exact seating? I read somewhere you get it when you get on the ship and it could be as early as 5:15pm? But then I've seen some other posts where folks have their times. When I board I want to RELAX, not stress about dining!

    2. Also, I booked the Trio package- 3 specialty restaurants. Do I have to wait to get on board before making those reservations too? (haha, one more thing for me to stress about)

    3. Shows- I heard they are great! But I also heard you have to make reservations? Hard to do until of course I know my dining time. Also, when do I reserve seats? I don't think it's like RCL Harmony where you reserve before you board?

I would call MSC- but don't have the patience to wait on hold for almost 2 hours (again). I also did the website "call me" submission and have yet to hear back more than 2 days ago. Sadly my travel agent hasn't had much experience with MSC and even he has to call and wait on hold forever. So unless this is the absolute best cruise ever I'm not sure dealing with their customer service is worth the hassle?

I know once on board with an umbrella drink all my stress will sail away.

Thanks in advance for everyone's insight.

    Kim

  4. We did Mystic Mountain last week coming from the Vista. We cabbed it and bought tickets there. The taxi guides are going to try to tell you that it costs 150 just to go up the mountain but that is bad information. They are trying to push you to do the $30 tour of the island instead of the $10 r/t ride to the mountain. Once there you can purchase whatever package you want.

If you want to zip line, I would pre purchase it though. It was sold out. Also, go early if you go on your own. The ships excursions go to the falls first and the Allure is docked at the other dock. We had a short wait for the bobsleds but by the time we were ready to go, it was backed up pretty far.

    Thank you for the info!

  5. Hi! Sailing 7.23 on Carnival Vista. Curious if I have to book an excursion to do the sky ride, bob sled or zip or can I hop in a cab and go there and pay al a carte? I looked at non Carnival tours and for some reason they say they don't cater to Carnival passengers? There's a few Carnival excursions- and I know the pros there- guaranteed not to miss the boat, etc.. But historically have found it's better to go on own- just not sure that's an option?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
