Can anyone tell me if there is a web cam at Port Canaveral and if there is, how do I find it?

Hi,
I live just outside of Boston and a couple years ago my friend and I decided to take this cruise because it was in and out of Boston. It was our second cruise that year so we wanted to save for our Alaska cruise the following year. We had been to most of the stops, driving, but had a great time anyway. I just enjoy relaxing on the ship. My favorite stop was Bar Harbor.
I hope you enjoyed the cruise.

Hi Cindy,
I'll be following along with you. The stops on your B2B are the same ones that Kathy and I planned to take on our B2B back in 2011 but had to cancel because she got sick. At that time we would have been on the Serenade of the Seas.
Have a great second week.

Hi to your Mom.

Thanks to all who answered my periscope question. And thank you for the beautiful pictures. I love the shades of the Caribbean waters. Maybe I'll get there again someday but for now I will live vicariously through live posts.

I hope I'm not the only dummy on here but I have to ask, what is a periscope?

This might be a silly question but I'm asking anyway. We will be in Ketchikan from 7-1:15 on Crown Princess. We booked Aleutians Ballad excursion for my 7yo and I to do from 8:30-11:30. He has been learning about Alaska and studying totem poles. He really wants to see them. Is there an easy/ quick way for him to see a number of totem poles without risking missing the boat?

On our first trip to Alaska we booked the Saxman Village tour thru the cruiseline. It was wonderful. We went into the clanhouse and a carving shed. So interesting watching the poles being carved and dancing with the natives .

Thank you for letting us cruise along with you.

I am really enjoying this review. The first time I went to Alaska we did a cruise tour and loved it. It was with Princess and our group consisted of 14 people. That was sure a lot smaller than the groups now. That was back in 2000. When we went into the park we were lucky and saw every animal possible. All our excursions were included in the price of the trip. The only extra we had to pay was for the helicopter tour to the glacier. All meals were included too. The second time we went to Alaska was in 2009 and it was on the repo tour of the Radiance and loved it just as much as the first trip.
Looking forward to the rest of your review.

As I tried to explain in an earlier post our cruise tour was wonderful. We had 8 days on land but were not on bus the whole time. We were on a train, paddlewheel boat, airplane and a full size bus but there were only 14 in our group and we were the only ones on the bus and had our own private car on the train.
On my second cruise to Alaska we went on RCCL and it was two week repo cruise from Vancouver to Alaska then down to San Diego. We had stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Sitka, Icy Strait Point, Victoria B. C. , two days in San Francisco then down to San Diego, where we visited with family a couple days before flying home.
I can honestly say that I enjoyed each trip immensely and would hate to have to pick one over the other.

The first time I went to Alaska I was travelling with a friend the same age as myself so being two senior ladies we decided to take an escorted cruise through Princess Cruise Line. It was the best decision we ever made. We flew to Anchorage and when we got off the plane we were met by our tour guide. She took all our baggage claim checks and gave them to people with her who then retrieved our luggage. We only had to look to see that each of our bags were there then got on a bus to go to the hotel. That night we were on our own so we went out on the town for a while, dining and exploring.
The next morning we had breakfast in a private dining room where we met our guide and the other people in our group. After breakfast we got on a bus and toured different places in and around Anchorage. We had a full size bus but there were only 14 of us in the group. After spending another night in Anchorage we went to the train station and got on headed to Denali and Mt McKinley. We ended the land portion in Fairbanks and flew back to Anchorage, got on a bus to Seward to board the ship.
On the cruise portion of the trip we had stops in Skagway, Ketchican and Juneau. The cruise ended in Vancouver and we flew home from there.
Most of the excursions were paid as part of the cruise tour. The only thing extra we had to pay for was a helicopter tour. It was amazing.
Our guide was with us 24/7 on both the land and ship portions. The last day of the cruise she even made all arrangements for us to the airport and also seat assignments.
Sorry this is so long but I could go on forever. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to answer. I've been back a 2nd time and would love to go again.

It's a good kind of tired though when the kids are involved. I love spending time with my great grandkids but boy do I get a great nights sleep when they go home.
Love the email messages from Booty.

Jim,
Take it easy and just sit around reading, watching and enjoying the view. I need your reviews to keep me happy because I fear that I have taken my last cruise. About two weeks before our last cruise, a B2B out of San Juan, my friend had to have emergency surgery and is still suffering from it. I am a bit older than you and have started to have problems getting around, from many back and leg surgeries.

So sorry to hear Judith is under the weather but it sounds like she is on the mend. Enjoy your cruise.
Have you heard anymore on Lyric's spider bite problem?

Did you enjoy Key West? I love it there and hope to get back again for a longer period of time. Maybe I should consider taking a vacation in Key West for a few days.

I can't wait to read the next installment to see what I missed since we had to cancel. I started to check next year's cruises for the southern route but they aren't offering the same islands. I think that we would be in Antigua today on the second half of the B2B so I've been dreaming of warm sunny weather. I'm sorry that I never got to meet you, maybe next time.

Ballerina Jewelers, Front Street, next to courthouse. Myself and several family and friends have dealt with them for years. I'll be there again in October.

Thanks for the information. This will give me a couple places to check. We will be flying into Baltimore so don't need parking just someplace to get a nice room, have dinner and get a ride to the port.

We stayed at the Hyatt Place and there was a Ruby Tuesday next door.
Thanks, I'll check it out.

Does anyone know if Sleep Inn has a reataurant where we could get dinner or is there one close enough for a couple of seniors to walk to? If no dining available there can anyone reccomend a hotel.
Thanks,
