  1. I normally book with a PVP. They are paid on booking a cruise.
I told my PVP I was going to switdh the booking to a TA, because they could give me $200 in OBC.,..a no brainer and my PVP agreed it was best for me, but told me it had to be switched within two weeks of booking, or you can not switch..

MY PVP said it would not affect her, as she had booked the cruise, so I take the best of both worlds.

BTW...I use cruise compete dot com to get the best options.

I just checked into the benefits of owning CCL stock. If I read it right, it said the benefits aren’t combinable with any other on board credits. We alway have travel agent credits as well as the on going special offers. Please tell me I read it wrong. It also said up to $250. What would be the lowest benefit if $250. is the max? Thanks!

6 days and under is $50

    7-13 days is $100

14 days or longer is $250

  3. Yes Departure time is at 4:00....and Muster drill will be a few minutes before.

They have the new service where you must check in for Muster Drill with your S&S Card....

On both of my recent sailings, we sailed within minutes of the end of the Muster Drill.

  4. Fantasy has two dining rooms

    Celebration is midship

Jubilee is the aft dining room

    Celebration is ATD

    Jubilee is regular seating

We just spent ten days and loved the Jubilee. The Maitre'd is "Agent 007"

and one of the friendliest I have ever met. He actually came to every table

every night, and also was Maitre'd in Celebration for Lunch, and also came to every table there as well.

Celebration is also where the Brunch is served...

Also, they still have table cloths and the food is wonderful

  5. Current Cruise Director is Mikey, and we really liked him. Dynamic, yet not intrusive. Always available to mingle with guests and answer any questions. One of the best we have ever had!

Mikey is one of the best I have ever had...19 Carnival cruises...but he will be leaving in January...not sure where he is going. Christine left and Mikey was promoted...no one would tell me why she left, but I am under the impression she left the company.

  6. I think they will, looking to hear by tomorrow that cruises have been cancel

I suspect the Magic will leave Miami on time on Saturday...

BUT...your problem is GETTING to Miami from North Carolina...

You have to drive as the storm up the coast tomorrow...

and then, if the storm is safely by, you have to drive with 11 million other

    people who are headed home...

If flying, not sure when the airports will open, but how many people are currently stranded and can not get flights into Florida...

I hope Carnival will give you some options...ie shortened cruise leaving on Sunday or full refund....

  7. Thanks for the question and answer...I prefer the Celebration Dining Room, and will have to go ATD on one of my trips....I prefer Early Dining, and can still eat early with ATD, but like to be at the same table each night, with same servers....no thrilled as I hated it on my lone NCL cruise.

  8. Not to be a downer...but ....you will have muster drill at 4:00, then pull away (you do want to be at the FRONT of the ship to watch it make the 360 degree turn)...best place to watch is from the same place, or on an upper deck.

But, it will dark by 6:30, so not much else to see.

You are on a River Cruise until the ship reaches the mouth of the Mississippi River, around midnight.

Probably the most interesting thing to see, is when the ship reaches the mouth (coming and going) is to see how the small land on the south of the ship gets smaller and smaller until it disappears. But dont expect to see much.

From there on you can see the lights of the oil derrecks.

  9. We were also on the same cruise.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Mount Pleasant just across the river from the Port for $150. We left the car in their parking lot and the had a taxi take us to port and picked us up on return. I thought it was a pretty good deal since we were on a seven day cruise and only thing we were out was s tip to the driver.

The weather was atrocious, but the crew was incredible and found ways to keep the fun going. We had 500 people on board for a Gospel Music Cruise, but only they could go to the concerts, but we had a blast with the singers in Karaoke. Some of those gospel music singers were also awesome country singers.

Anna in karaoke was one of the best hostess ever. One thing also, a very large number of crew members were from the Phillipines, and so amazing to see the words of encouragement from the passengers to the crew. Our Dinner server Edwin was so happy when he was able to speak to his wife and children, but told us that others had not been able to get in contact with families. It made me realize how small our world really is.

Risa Barnes was great to keep us in touch, even with all the bad news, and she made some quick plans to add events for the unexpected day at sea.

Nassau...been there six times and done that...

But, Grand Turk was a big surprise. What an amazing beach right next to the ship. I do want to go there again, but better just to stay at the beach.

  10. Risa Barnes started with Carnival as a bar waitress, and as she loves to brag has done every job on the ship except for Captain...and someday...

Risa started with Carnival in 1992 so she has a lot of experience.

On our cruise last week on the Fantasy, a man asked her why she did not serve on any larger ships. Some seem to think she is on the Fantasy (oldest and smallest ship in the Fleet) because she is a woman. But she is there by choice. She served on the Celebration before and now the Fantasy because she loves the small ships and the ability to get out and really meet people, which is not easy to do on a larger ship.

And, Risa loves to do the small individual things. By her own admission she does not sing or dance. Some of her jokes are pretty old too, but she sill is a joy to be around. Of course, she also loves the fact that the ship is ported in Charleston, and she is a South Caroline girl.

BTW...last week we actually chose the Fantasy because she was on it. And she turned a cruise of lousy weather, and still made it fun.

    JB

  11. Have been on the Fantasy several times, and Risa is my favorite CD. We have had her on the Celebration and the Fantasy....

We are hoping to go on the Nov. 2 7 night trip....

Glad to hear the "old Girl" is still holding up...she may be the oldest ship in the fleet, but still my favorite. I love the small ships.
