However, to answer your question, once you've selected your check-in time, that information will be printed on your boarding pass. Unless you have some sort of priority status, such as Platinum. Diamond or FTTF, you will not be allowed to check in at the terminal before your check-in time. If you have some sort of priority status, you will be allowed to check in at any time once the terminal opens for check in. The information may or may not be in their system, but since it is printed on your boarding pass, it's much quicker for the agent to read that than to look it up on a computer.

But since then, an 11:30am time slot opened up and that is reflected as our check in time online but not on our boarding pass. Let's say we don't have time to print the new ones, what would you do? It's on your boarding pass and will also show when they scan it.

Yes. When you check in, you will be given a zone number. I'm not sure how many people they put into a zone though. It may be possible that both the 10:30 and the 12:00 could be in the same zone.

 

When they start boarding, Platinum/Diamond, Weddings and FTTF goes first. Then they start calling the zone numbers starting with #1. When all of the zone 1 people have boarded, they call Zone #2. Once all of the zones have been called, if you check in after that, you can just walk right on.

on all carnival ships that have implemented staggered check in they are strict and you will not be able to go to the terminal until your time.

 

the only exception is if you are platinum or diamond or fttf you can go to the terminal when you want
