  1. Thomson and Saga have not had auto tips for many years, and have not added any extra service charges, so at least with these two examples your cynicism is unfounded.

Thanks for the input, that is very nice to hear..but they are not Carnival PLC

or am i being cynical again :)

  2. For what its worth, my cynical opinion is that Automatic Service Charge is just an additional charge added by P&O and other cruise lines, Yes you can withdraw it and use envelopes.

    But

When the charge is added to the cost of the cruise, there will be a lull ...... and then tipping will then be EXPECTED when you receive excellent service, which will then be added automatically to the bill, and then be added to the cost of the cruise and then........ oh the shareholders will be rolling in the extra dosh...

Told you my view was cynical. but i am smiling

  3. Hi

    For info

    Location , England UK

    Nationwide Bank

I started to hunt around for insurance for our World trip on Arcadia in Jan 2018, was finding it expensive with my previous blood pressure and high cholesterol condition. Then i decided to ask my banks free European insurance for an upgrade. Worked out a lot better at £150 to upgrade to worldwide and covers our trip to Cyprus in July.

    Job done

  5. Hi.. Newbie to the forum - 262 nights on P&O

We are booked on Arcadia's World Cruise Jan 9th 2018. Being experienced cruisers, but never had the need to possible purchase multiple currencies. What do others consider to be the best options. I am considering setting up a Debit Card to use in ATM's and/or shops rather than getting currency on board. This will limit losses if scammed and we can top up the account as necessary.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers

    Paul

Other Worldie tips and tricks anyone can offer will be gratefully received :)
