Hi we are looking at cruises out of Baltimore with CCL in Dec 2019. I know it will be pretty cold upon boarding... are there plenty of indoor activities? Also are there many family friendly places to visit in December in Baltimore?

We are in the UK and are a military family, we’ve attended gatherings on the cruises we’ve been on. We were made to feel very welcome and it’s an honour to meet serving/veterans and their families.

If it’s ok to hijack your thread.. those that are travelling from the UK how do you book? The past couple of years we’ve priced flights/cruise separately then booked through a UK travel agent. It’s always a massive pain and only ends up being £50 cheaper. We booked because of ATOL etc but wondered what others did. We always arrive 2/3 days earlier than our cruise.

Thanks guys,
You know what - I’m going to book it!
I’ve never been to Texas neither and looking at the size of the place it's huge! We’re flying to Houston IAH George Bush Intercontinental Airport and from there we will have a three night stay before we board the cruise. Any ideas of nice affordable family places to stay, near the beach or with a good pool? Is it best to stay in the Galveston area?
We travelled from the uk to cruise out of Galveston this summer. The first night two nights we stayed near the airport and ubered into Houston to do the tourist bits. The third night we travelled to Nassau bay to visit NASA. Although there isn’t much to walk to the Kemah boardwalk is a short Uber ride ($9 each way) and there is tonnes of stuff to see and do. If we were to return we would def stay in the Nassau Bay Area then move to Galveston itself as the place is amazing.

We did this cruise last year and can highly recommend cosol tours in St Lucia and twin island excursions in St Maarten. Magen’s Bay, St Thomas was amazing snorkelling.
If we would return to St kitts we probably wouldn’t go to the Carambola beach club, the beach was amazing but the snorkelling not so much so.

These are all great, thank you! Question: Is breakfast served in the dining room every morning? Same menu each day?
I'm definitely a room-service-on-the-balcony breakfast kinda girl, and DH likes the buffet. I've done the Sea Day Brunches, but I never paid much attention to what was happening for breakfast in the MDR on the port days. My step-dad will be so happy if they're serving every morning, he loves sit-down service for breakfast.
Hi yes they opened one dining room, the sensation, each morning for a sit down breakfast. Just from our experience that if you've got an excursion booked allow plenty of time to have breakfast as it's definitely a leisurely experience!

We had no complaints about the quality of food but I have to agree with previous reviews about how slow the service can be.

Christmas cruise from Baltimore
in East Coast Departures
Posted
thank you all for replying, we ducked out of going in December 2019 (its cold enough in the UK we figured!) and have booked a cruise for August 2020. I have just made my trip advisor trip on the app and are adding your suggestions to it!
