The lap pool in the spa is barely 2 feet deep, impossible to swim in properly.

One small pool with 4 hot tubs out on the main deck. No slides.

Spice h2o right at the back which is a covered bar area with 2 supposedly adult only hot tubs.

I was on the 8 July sailing from Venice, so after the dry dock refit.

It’s just a covered area with tables and chairs plus two hot tubs, the bar is inside on the starboard side on the way to the buffet. The annoying thing was that they removed the tables/chairs so you can’t sit out at breakfast, when the buffet is heaving that is not a good move. There are also two round pod-beds, one in both corners, a complete waste of the space imho.

It’s a ‘meeting space’ in the evenings for different groups - Young adults / LGB etc.

It’s also meant to be adults only but kids were frequently running about.

Our favourite thing has been to get back from port and go to the spa, the new heated beds on the star are amazing, worth the pass price alone. There have never been more than 10 people in the spa and the relaxation rooms have been empty, a wonderful escape from noise and crowds of people.

It’s a private group, you have to request to join.

In the UK we have a fully inclusive package that includes UBP, all gratuities, 2 bottles of water a day and 60 mins internet. $650 onboard credit when booking a Suite too in the current offer.

My only real issue is that passengers were told the port was closed, it obviously wasn’t if another ship was able to dock.

Norwegian star cancelled Dubrovnik this morning stating bad weather and Gruz port being closed , thats what passengers were told and the ship sailed off.

I’ve been on vessel finder and Gruz webcams and seen that a Costa cruise ship docked at 8am this morning and the weather looks perfectly calm.

Does this strike anyone as rather odd?

Dubrovnik will be one of the highlights of my cruise and I would be gutted to miss it.

I’m a bit concerned as we sail in a fortnight - today the Norwegian star has been unable to dock at Gruz for Dubrovnik because of high winds. They’ve had to miss their last day and sail out to sea instead. Will this have been the port decision or the Captain’s ?

There is luggage storage at Piazzale Roma, it would be far quicker to drop luggage off there and then carry on into Venice, it would save you a good hour or more. You would have to be back at the port by no later than 2.30.

The vast majority of UK phone contracts now include ‘roam like home’ which covers all of Europe so you can make calls and use data at no extra cost as long as you have a network signal. As for people mithering about a parent onboard ship with a child alone, how on earth do they think single parents manage it? It’s not like she was dumped at a port with her child + all baggage, she is safe on a ship with all meals etc. and the ability to have internet access. Anyone who can’t ‘cope’ in that sort of situation should have a think about whether they should travel at all!

I was told there are a couple of round multi-person loungers . That sounds far too intimate for my liking. The only adult pool is inside the spa.

How busy and noisy was the Spice h2o area? I’m sailing in 4 weeks time, the cruise seems pretty full, nothing above balcony cabins available. The pictures I’ve seen of your 24 May cruise look very quiet, although they could have been taken on a port day/ early mornings etc.

If you used the spa - how comfy are those new tiled loungers? They look very oddly shaped, as if you can’t lay there and look out of the windows.

It’s still out on it’s 1st cruise, I’ve seen pics but no real comments as yet.

I wonder why us Brits get 1 litre of bottled water per person per day in our cabins, plus free beverage package and all service charges included in our bookings? Do we pay a lot more than those who book on the US site?

I’d actually prefer not to have plastic bottles given, A reusable lidded cup or bottle would be far more enviromentally friendly.

There is no need for plastic bottles or cups on cruise ships.

Why are people saying you have to pay for drinks on ncl ships ? All cruises now have all inclusive beverage packages don’t they ?

Sailing from Venice on 8 July - I know what date I can buy passes but what time of day does the web page open for purchase? I really don’t want to miss out if they only allow 60 .
