  1. Unlike the posters, I AM a vegetarian, 38 years and 35 cruises. Carnival offers two vegetarian options each night. One is always Indian food, the other varies. I only like the Indian on the first night. It is not good the rest of the week, in my opinion. Trouble is, you have to order both dinners each night because one will likely not be appealing. In my vegetarian family, a couple of us would order the macaroni and cheese from the kid's menu as back up, if the vege entrees were nasty that night. But I just got off the Miracle 3 weeks ago and the mac and cheese was awful. They used flour to thicken the sauce instead of cream cheese. But that may only have been this chef. There is a 'secret' vegan menu, but you will have to ask the maitre d for it as most servers are not aware of it. There is always the lido deck for additional choices, though there isnt much. The salad bar is, however, pretty good.

Thanks for all the tips!! I'm transitioning to vegan so that's great to know there is a vegan menu.

  2. I booked 6 tickets for 2 cabins through a third party company, I called and asked if they were able to transfer the OBC from one cabin to another since my husband and I well be paying for our group of friend as a thank you gift for helping us with our wedding. Each cabin is alloted $50 OBC. The TA that helped me said that carnival won't allow transferring promotional OBC. Does anyone know if this is true or should I try to call carnival and see if they can or well they have me talk to my TA?

  3. Omg I'm so glad someone understands!! My last cruise was 8 years ago, my fiance and i haven't been able to go on any since the day his dad past away my brother was diagnosed with leukemia and my mom has parkinson. We booked our cruise for February 3, 2018 and I can't stop thinking about it/planning it. I stop talking about it as much because I didn't want to annoy my fiance and friends who are joining us. So I'm dying with excitement with you!!!

  4. It depends on the room you booked. Some only hold 2 ppl and some holds 4 ppl. I orginally booked 2 in one cabin and 4 in another, but had to call to ensure we had a cabin that could hold 3 or 4 in each in case we decide to move ppl around. You can look on carnivals site with ur cabin number to see the occupancy of ppl it'll hold.

  5. Just go to guest services and ask for an extra room key. Don't switch rooms. You'll have have 2 S&S cards - 1 for room access and the other boarding and purchases. We did this a few times on multiple cruises. No issues at all. If they ask why you need an extra key for each cabin just say you like to check on ur parents and if anything your mom can check on the kids if you and hubby plan on stay "out" late.

  6. We decorated ours on the Breeze, it was just for fun.. we used command strips because I was told not all doors were magnetic, also the say to be sure its fire retardant but I used some butcher paper and put poster board words and party supply cutouts with a nautical theme.. it was our first cruise so I wanted something to remember it by.. also there is a FB page called "Carnival Cruisers....decorate your doors" you can join, the main issue with that is they strongly urge you not to use anything that is not flame retardant but the only thing that really can happen is the cruise line make you remove your decorations if they're not up to their standard so I say just go for it and see what happens lol!!

  7. We typically decorate our door. Usually something different each time. Not sure how good you are with photo editing software, but once I took a image of a porthole (make sure it is not copyrighted) off the net and then put a photo of our cabin inside the porthole so it looked like you were looking in to our cabin. Last time we did a beach theme removable stickers. We like to decorate to make it easier to find our room, especially after a few drinks;p. What I have seen on other doors; a dry erase board where people would leave notes to other they are sailing with, balloons, full door decorations (one sheet that covers the entire door), bows. Be creative and put your own spin on it, show your personality.

Out next cruise is during New Year's Eve, so we will probably go with that theme.

    Have a great cruise.

Ohhh thank you!!! This is an amazing idea!

  8. I've never understood the "door decoration" thing...I don't "decorate" my hotel room door, nor would I decorate the cabin door!

I usually don't decor my door nor do I care for it when it's just the hubby and I, but since we have 2 couples joining us and it being their first cruise I thought I would make it special for them. Plus we're sailing on a fun ship, why not make it fun!! It's your personal preference NOT to decor YOUR cabin door! But I'd like to make it special for my friends.

  9. My husband and I have 2 vegetarians cruising with us. Since this is their first cruise we'd like them to have an amazing experience all around. Is their only one entree option for veggie eaters? There will be 6 of us and the few nights that we opt for the MDR I don't want the vegetarians to sit there and look pretty if the entree isn't appealing to them (one of them is a picky eater).

  10. We go through costco. It's the same price but if carnival has a promo sale or incentives added on, you can combined that with costco.

For example our cruise in Feb. Carnivals promo was $50 on board credit and 2 category cabin upgrade (if u really consider it an upgrade). Plus on my VIFP it was $40 cheaper but no advertisment. I wanted to see the total cost. With costco $50 on board credit and $70 costco cash card. They however didn't have the $40 cheaper with my VIFP so they called carnival and gave it to me for both cabins. For some reason my husband didn't have it but when they called to confirm the TA used my number.

Combine the two promos: $100 on board credit, $140 costco cash card, and $80 cheaper then the going price at the time purchased. Not bad in my opinion. You could also do the AARP or Verizon to get even more of a discount 10%. But I wasn't able to purchase them...

  11. I have 4 friends joining my husband and I on our cruise to mexico Feb 3. This well be their first cruise. I already have a small goodie bag to give each of them once we arrive at our port. I tried to YouTube, pinterest, and good cabin door decorations for ideas... so far nothing great. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

  12. Yes it's free. It's good if you want to know the itinerary for the day. So basicly the fun ship newsletter you get each day but mobile version. Chatting/messaging with ppl on board will cost you the internet package.
