MDR is ok on the Mardi Gras, not great but it's ok. Do the Your Time Dining because La Cucina del Capitano, Guy's Pig and Anchor, and ChiBang! are all included. If you do YTD you have first opportunities to grab a time starting at 5:30pm. If you do fixed time dining, you have to wait until 7 or 7:30 to try to get a table and you could be waiting hours.

I did a full review of most of the food on the Mardi Gras that might help. Having La Cucina as an option was especially awesome. Oh and Shaq's Big Chicken is AWESOME. Addictive but AWESOME! I hope this review is helpful for your planning, you'll have an awesome time on the ship!

We are considering the Mardi Gras for an April 2024 sailing. We have 2 boys with autism that have some food aversion. They've been on 2 cruises precovid when room service still offered pb&j and plain grilled cheese so we could always find something for then to eat when nothing else would work. But now Carnival has changed the room service menu. Is there any place I can still get these items on the ship? Also, if we did an early dinner at one of the other places like Cucina or Chibang, can we still go to the MDR for a later dinner on the same night?

Hello,   Been reading along on cruise critics since I've book my first ever cruise.

Our cuise will be the 4 days Carnival Liberty in June of 2019.   We also plan to do the Frommers map walk tour to the Queen Staircase.  I would assume we should prepare for the June temperature showing average to the 80* above. Being from the Great White North, we'll leave the snowsuits behind.   Never been to the Bahamas or Princess Cays.

Anxious for date to get closer.

We went June 2017 and it was upper 80's with very high humidity. Its also one of the wettest months of the year. It rained our entire trip except a few hours in Nassau. Be sure to take lots of water..and enjoy your trip!

  3. I was on Liberty this past weekend and they have sushi in the Lido buffet area as mentioned previously. I am always impressed with how good the sushi rolls are on Carnival.
Thank you! I've waited a while for that answer haha! We sail in December So I'm hoping it will still be there. Do you know if they can do a custom order if something isn't on the menu?

  4. I do agree with your comment about the garbage. Which is why i would never just leave it on the beach or throw it away. Besides the float i have isn't a little cheap piece of plastic. I paid $50 for this thing so there's no way id toss it in the garbage. Which is why i Said id deflate it and bring it back, but would give it to another family if interested. More than likely my decision would be to deflate it anyways. But I've decided not to bring it on the cruise. We are staying at a hotel on Daytona Beach beforehand so we will just use it there and pack it away in our truck for our return. Thanks everyone for the replies.

  5. I posted this on the ports board also but never seem to have luck in getting a response. Doesn't seem to be many people looking at that board.

On to the question at hand..

Anyone know if vendors have inflated floats for rent? Im actually looking for the air to inflate the one I'd like to bring. Its not small enough to do ourselves. Its ginormous for a couple ppl to sit on. Just wondering if anyone on the beach had access to an air compressor to do so.

  6. We went last year without booking an excursion for Nassau and had a great time. First we took a horse and carriage ride\tour around town. Then hopped on the speedboat parked on the water and had a splashing time lol! Neko was a great captain/tour guide! Then headed on down to Senor Frogs for drinks and a couple snacks. For 5 of us everything was less than $250. Great deal! If you're confidant enough you can counter offer and haggle the vendors prices. We did lol!
