Why the requirement of connecting or right next door if the kids are all sleeping with you anyways?

You can call after you book to buy the thermal passes. If for some reason they have none you could then go and upgrade yourselves to spa cabins.

So we have already booked balcony rooms but we want to upgrade. Interconnecting rooms are super useful when the kids go to bed early so we can go next door and hang out with our parents etc.

Have your room steward get you an extra duvet. Fold it in half on the ground for 1 kid. The second kid on the sofa (the duvet on the floor may be softer than the sofa). Trade off nightly.

alternately get a couple of extra duvets and both kids sleep on the floor to avoid fights.

Grand and Gramps can have their own room never seen by the kids.

tell your room steward exactly what you want to do and they will help set it up.

yes I am definitely leaning towards this option! Worried about the ship feeling crowded so to have the spa access for the adults will help I think

  3. Hello we are looking at 2 x spa mini suites on the Norwegian getaway. My parents will stay in one room and we will stay next door with 2 adults and 2 x 4 year olds. My only issue is there is only 3 pax rooms left. So we were thinking we could put a child on each room to make it 3 people per room but I would still want both kids to sleep in our room. So my question is “is the single sofa bed “mattress” removeable? So could we take the single mattress from the sofa bed in my parents room and use that on the floor next to the single sofa bed in our room for my other daughter to sleep on? Or any other ideas? Thanks

  4. Hello, we have the opportunity to sail from New Orleans in march 2020. We really wanted to sail on royal carribean but they no longer sail from New Orleans which makes us so sad... so we have looked at NCL and also Carnival. Or we can drive the 5 hours and add an overnight in a hotel and sale on royal carribean from Galveston instead. This will be annoying though. So my question is would you sail on the NCL getaway or do the drive from NOLA to galveston for the royal carribean cruise? NCL getaway doesn't look that bad apart from the huge size but it seems to get such a negative reviews in this site which has really put me off. Any advice would be appreciated! P.s. Sadly we cannot afford Disney so that puts that out of contention.

  5. Does anyone know why RCL aren't sailing out of New Orleans in 2020? we have only done one cruise on voyager of the seas and loved it. and as we will be flying from Australia in Dallas fort worth and then touring from there to New Orleans, it seemed like the perfect port of departure however I am unable to find any RCL cruises from here in 2020. We are a family of 4 with 3 year old twins and grandparents travelling - Disney is too expensive, we aren't keen on carnival and I've read some worrying reviews about the crowds on the Norwegian getaway (this would be a our pick otherwise.) but what we really want is an RCL ship!

  6. Some great advice on this thread! Thank you! Making me feel

Much more at ease about first cruise on Royal carribean voyager of the seas with our twins who will be 2.5years old. We have 2 cots requested for the room, will this be pack and plays? Does anyone know how i can find out exactly how big pack and plays are? If I google is it the grace brand? We have our own small portacots which I would maybe rather bring if they are more compact then what will be provided.

  7. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I've checked the deck plan and it says that 'stateroom has a third Pullman bed available' do you know what that means? Is that one of the single beds up high that folds down from the wall? And would that be in addition to the lounge? The turning the lounge around the face the wall is a great tip and we may be able to get away with this for one of the twins. I also got the class wrong, we actually have booked a deluxe balcony room, class E1 so that floor plan is smaller :( but we really need the interconnecting feature to have somewhere to hang for when they are napping and at night. I think if I can get one on the lounge and one in a cot then we'll be OK. Are you allowed to take your own portacots?

  8. Hello we are cruising with our 2.5 year old twins on voyager of the seas in dec. first time cruisers. We have booked the last interconnecting room available so as to be close by to the grandparents who are staying in the room next door. When I booked the rooms they put a child in each room so 3 pax in each room. I didn't think anything of this until now I've started to stress that 2 cots won't just fit in our room. There is the lounge available in the room and I'm not sure if this converts to a bed? The twins Will be too little to go in one of those high beds that fold down from the wall. My main concern is how I will fit 2 cots. Would love advice from anyone that has traveled in this room type recently with young kids. I'm also keen to know to if there is still a curtain in the room to seperate the C lounge from the main bed? I'm having a hard time getting a conclusive answer on this one. Lastly I'm assuming our double umbrella stroller won't fit through the door, so should I just take 2 cheapie single umbrella strollers?:)
