  1. But what if cell phones or the internet didn't exist? You would still be a small business owner, correct? You would give someone back home an emergency number of the cruise line to call if something were to arise, wouldn't you?

Things are ran differently now. Don’t forget that businesses did not use internet 20 years ago either. We are in a digital age where some business decisions are expected to made immediately. Our businesses today are also tied to the electronic storage and communications now more than ever before.

  2. We've used both RFAD and SE in Jamaica and Cozumel. Both were very prompt and efficient. Now we have never had to cancel, so we don't know how they would handle this.

We want to go back to Rose Hall in Jamaica, but I didn't see this offered for our cruise in Sept. on Harmony through either of these.

Did they both use a Motor Coach for transportation or did they use a Taxi?

  3. Cap One Venture has a $95 annual fee... You would need to be a heavy spender to come out ahead of the no annual fee 2% cards. You actually have to spend about $4800/year just to break even.

People really need to do the math to determine which card works best for them.

If you can’t Spend 4800 a year then you should not be looking at annual fee credit cards.

We put everything on our cards. Only our mortgage gets paid from my bank account and if I could figure how to pay that with a CC then I would.

So if I use a regular 1% card then my annual kick back is $1000 to $1250 a year. With the Venture it is $2000 to $2500 a year. So is that $95 worth that difference? I think so.

I put my work expenses that I get reimbursed for on my CC as well. This helps rack up the points.

  4. We have an generally use out Amazon Prime Signature Visa for the 5% back on Amazon purchases. It also does 2% for some other stuff and 1% on everything else. We spend way to much on Amazon but it did basically pay for our cruise this year. I also put major electronics on a Citi Double Cash card for price rewind (matches a lower price in 60 days) feature and the 2 year extended manufacturer warranty.

Your better reward cards will have an annual fee but you still come out way ahead. I use Capital one venture for everything. We get 2% back on everything if we use purchase eraser which we do. Easy to use and we generally rack up $2000 to $2500 a year in free travel.

  5. why is disney a better experience?

We prefer the themed restaurants- the rotational dining- the character interactions, the nightly entertainment etc

Disney just knows how to make it about families in our opinion- I know Disney is not for some

Royals attempt at Dreamworks just not compare to Disney. We loved our Star Wars Cruise on Disney Fantasy. However Disney has now priced us out of Cruises and we have a great time on other lines.

So while we feel Disney is better, it is not twice as much better as their price tag reflects.

  6. We are Disney Fanatics. We own Disney Vacation Club and have taken several Disney Cruises. With that said, about 18 months ago we just could no longer justify the price difference in cruising. We have now been on two RC cruises and have a Carnival booked for next year. In our opinion Disney is a much better experience but it is not twice as much better. So while we will still take our annual Disney World trip we no longer will be cruising with them. For the record I have two kids ages 6 and 11.

  7. We have been on 4 Disney cruises. While we have enjoyed every cruise with Disney we just can't justify the price difference anymore. We are going RC Oasis of the Seas in March. It was half the price. This is coming from a Disney Loving family that are DVC members.

I just don't see paying twice as much. We shall see.
