  1. I have actually been researching this topic since we are traveling on Freedom of the Seas in June out of Puerto Rico. I have Verizon so contacted them directly to explore my options. I was told that iphones with Verizon have the Pay as You Go Travel option for texting. I was informed to ensure I turn off the Data Roaming feature so that I do not inadvertently access the data, but then I would still be able to send and receive texts at .50 cents per text message sent and .5 cents for text message received. I can also make calls at $2.99 per minute if necessary. I also called Royal Carribean and they would not 100% confirm this would work, but we plan to try it once on board. This ship does not have the RCL app yet. The most important thing to remember is to keep the Data Roaming feature off. I would suggest contacting your specific carrier to see what they recommend and find out if your service is compatible on this particular ship. Good luck!

  2. We are traveling on the Freedom of the Seas sailing June 2, 2018, and it will be our first Royal Carribean cruise! We are very excited, but not familiar with the RCL dining and show schedule or process. We are traveling with another family and have the My Time Dining option. We want to see the shows on board, but want to ensure we plan dining to coordinate with the show times. I called Royal Carribean and they advised they do not have any information for the show times and it would not be available until being on board. There is an option to reserve certain dining times with the My Time Dining, so I am wondering if anyone knows what time the shows are normally scheduled and how much time do we need to allocate for dining in the main dining room? Are there normally more than one showing of each show? I was also told that on this cruise there is not an option to reserve tickets for shows until being on board.

Any information would be very much appreciated!

  3. We will be visiting Nassau on July 25, 2014, on the Norwegian Getaway. The itinerary notes the ship arrives at 12:00 p.m. and departs at 7:00 p.m. We have tentatively booked a room at the Comfort Suites as suggested on this site, to take advantage of the lower cost to visit the water park; however, I am wondering if there will be enough time to visit the park? By the time we dock, arrive at the Comfort Inn and then walk over to the park, I am assuming it will be around 2:00 p.m. Is this enough time to visit the park? If anyone has any input, I would sincerely appreciate it! :)
