  1. Totally worth it! The lines in regular customs are generally awful, and if you ever find yourself with a short domestic connection when returning from an international flight (ex. When flying from Paris to Houston, one option is to connect through LaGuardia) it can help you not miss a flight! Last group I traveled with, those with GE made the connection, those without did not.

My suggestion - Make a day of it and have a nice lunch/dinner in DC if possible, but do make the drive because it’s worth it!

  2. Agree with the above, we had a near perfect experience with Dyea Dave, including all pre and post tour communication. Sorry for your experience, must have caught him on a bad day.

  3. Thanks Momto - I read some of the reviews wrong. I thought you could ask for extra stops, etc. if desired and/or make special requests. We don't know much about the area, so in the case you could make requests I wanted to ask for advice on things not to miss. Seems that's not the case - so good news! One less thing to worry about :)

  4. Would folks mind sharing their favorite stops that might not be on the standard route? We are booked on the Emerald Lake Tour. Thanks!

  5. We just booked them for July 2017 because of your review (and then a tad bit of follow-on research - with very similar great things to say)! Thank you!!

  6. Norris, my new friend,

I'm now officially addicted to your reviews. Spent the last few days reliving all your adventures. Along with ignoring my husband after work to read away, I'm now compelled to rent a nice camera and lens for our upcoming July 2017 cruise on the Coral. (Ive noted all your camera and lens suggestions. Any others most welcome.) He might not be your biggest fan at the moment, but I am!! He will come to love you once he starts reading.

Thank you for all the time you spend posting. It is so very helpful and your pictures are amazing. I hope we cross paths with you two one day, but until then I will continue to follow.

    Take care!

  7. Are you limited to two bottles the entire trip, or at one of the ports can we buy two additional bottles (we plan to carry on two bottles at embarkation) and bring them back through security? This is not really clear on the website.

    Thanks!

  8. Ok great - thank you! We are trying to not purchase the soda package and just bring what we want on and around the ship. I was worried they wouldn't let us into the bars/restaurants with our own cups.. But it sounds like we can carry them anywhere - so we are good to go! Thanks again!

  9. Hello! My husband and I are taking our first Princess cruise in July. We are thinking of bringing on our own sodas, sparkling water, etc. We also plan to bring our insulated (Yedi) cups to have by the pool. Can we bring these into the bars and restaurants to have Diet Coke, etc. with our meals or is this not allowed? Trying to decide on the drink packages.

    Thank you for the help!
