Hi There,
I am trying to take my photo for the check in. Would I be able to take a photo of my passport picture? Any tips on this? What has caused your photo to be denied at the pier?
Thanks!
first time cruising with RCL and I took a picture of the extra passport photos I had from that process and submitted them.
But if others are saying they take new new ones regardless, then oh well. Haha

Yes - the furthest cove back to the right of the pier is what you want, I think it is called Columbus Cove. They have mats there for rent, but we actually cruise with our own inflatable one from Amazon.
We were thinking of bringing our own. Did you find anywhere to assist you in blowing them up or did you do it yourselves?
-
Do you think if we brought our own float there would be access to a place to blow it up on the island or would that be a bad idea? TIA

Yes. $16 per adult round trip fare.
USD or do you need to get local currency?

Thank you both very much!
Thats exactly the information and reassurance I was looking for. 🙂
Sounds like a plan!
Thank you!

Hey fellow cruisers.
One late evening I found a post about guests going to Mullet beach for the day and then being able to walk over to Maho to see the planes and taxi back to the ship.
Could anyone help me understand the process and time commitment for that plan?
I cant for the life of me find this post again nor anything like it. It could just be me, but I thought I would post again regardless.
I am under the impression there will be FOUR ships docked the day our cruise is there.
Has anyone ever done this? We are looking for a nice, family friendly beach for sometime but also want to experience the planes landing.
Any other recommendations?
TIA

It’s a bit of a jaunt but it’s covered and has fans. Also, just got off Getaway on the 11th and while at Harvest Caye there were two large golf carts helping transport from one end of the pier to the other helping you get to and from the boat. They did not go into the beach/pool area but it definitely cut down on walking. My three year old fell asleep in my arms in the pool so I was able to hop on to help me get back to the boat with her still asleep in my arms. We were some of the last still on the island and it was still running.

Off the Getaway on the 11th. Margaritaville was still ala Carte (plus gratuity) and you could walk up to the bar and get drinks from the UDP whenever it was open.

New email for "Cool Dave" cooldavetours@yahoo.com
Thanks for the update. I am a PLANNER who just booked NCL with a stop in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for Dec. 2019.
We went around with Rony's Tours this March in Roatan and had an amazing experience. Can't wait to see if Cool Dave can help us out next December!

We were on the same sailing as a group of 6 (two kids). One day I’ll type up a report. But we too were so happily surprised and now a big NCL fan.
We even Just booked for $1 a cruise in Dec. 2019.

For those that have received the liquid policy exemption were you able to leave it in your checked luggage? I'm planning to tape my exemption to it but wanted to know if anyone had actually tried this recently.
Thx!
I just got my exception figured out with the access desk. In bold red letters it says DO NOT PUT IN CHECKED BAGGAGE.
“Please do not put the items that are approved in your luggage as they will be confiscated, even with an approval. Please carry them on.”

Sorry. Hopefully not hijacking the thread.
What happens when you buy alcohol at a port? I know you can’t drink it on the boat but then when you get back to the home port, what must you do?
It’s be requested I pick up some Hennessy white if I find it when we cruise in March.
But will be lost at what the procedure is...

We walked down the Main Street to captain jacks on the left side of the road. It was 35 dollars for 4 hours. There was also a rental place closer on the right side. I can't recall the name. But they were closed for some reason even though we were there during the "open" hours stayed on the door. Everyone at captain jacks was very friendly and they were worth the extra walk. They even gave us a ride back down to the pier when we were done with the golf cart.

We are currently onboard the Norwegian Jade.We stopped in harvest caye yesterday. Once onboard we purchased the ferry tickets at the shore excursion desk and they were delivered to our room. We were on the first ferry over which left from the marina on harvest caye at 9am. The return time we were given was 12:30pm. They asked that we honor the times on the wrist bands in order to ensure space for everyone on the returning ferrys. If we wanted to return earlier we could as many of the early ferrys were dropping people off and returning to HC nearly empty. However, they did say of you had booked an independent tour and wouldn't be back at your assigned time you could take a later ferry back. But you may not be guaranteed a specific ferry time. For example if your return time on the wristband was 12:30 and you wanted to return on the 2:30 ferry, all those with 2:30 wristbands got priority. If there was space you could get on. If not you had to wait for the next one to see if they had room. They did say that they had never left anyone behind yet. Worse case scenario they sent one more boat at the end of the day for the stragglers if they had to. Bottom line is if you have a tour they understand you may need more than the allotted three
Hours and they will allow you to extend your time, however if not, it is much easier for them if you stick to your assigned time. We rented a golf cart for $35 and were able to drive all the way to the other end of the island and see everything. There is just one main road that goes all the way down so you can't get lost. We were able to do that and make shopping stops along the way and still made our original return time. Just a heads up all the shops here take American money but only give Belize currency in change. Also we found them to be more expensive than most other places. Wanting 17-20 dollars for tshirts. Shopping was actually cheaper on harvest caye. It was a nice relaxing day though and we would do it again. We returned with plenty of time left to shop and enjoy the pool and beach on harvest caye.

Can you tell me more about where/how you rented the golf cart? Looking to do this in March when we cruise.
TIA. ❤️

I do not know the wait but wanted to chime in that I am driving from Orlando and returning a car here as well as renting from them to drive back home to Orlando. I hope it’s as good as an experience, as I think the idea is. Ha!

So, once your finished or have a moment I have a question about bags for you
You seem to carry a good handful of things off the ship with you and I’ve only really read about the mermaid bag.
Do you have any tips/tricks to this?
We will be cruising with our own snorkel gear and two kids (6&3). We beach it up all the time here in FL but not getting off a boat, taking a car, and going through security.
Just interested in how you organize that.
Thank you for all your hard work!

I also want to thank you for the review. Will be doing this itinerary, again, in March and want different ideas. As usual, you are a huge help.

"Ok mommy, we are going back, please let me take my life jacket off". I gave in and off it came. She was free and loving it. She swam like a pro.
She could now dive...but was limited to the life jacket attached to her arm so she still couldn't go too deep.
We swam back. It was a bit of a struggle. They gathered us around and announced that it would be too hard of a swim back to the island and they were going to send our boat out to come get us.
Well, the boat came and parked quite a ways from us and it was one of the hardest struggles to get to it. It wasn't this hard swimming to come back but right where they parked...oh my! It felt like forever getting back. I was worn out. Sakari was doing great and said she wasn't even tired.
She was like a dolphin frolicking in the water.
We finally made it aboard and I couldn't be happier to sit down.
They passed out drinks and I rested until everyone was on the boat.
Can you share where you got this wonderful purple mermaid tail? My daughter is asking for one for Christmas. It’s hard to figure out if ones are actually usable and this is pure evidence this one is!
Thank you for all the pictures. Can’t wait till we go to the Western Caribbean in March on NCL!

Just Back from Harvest Caye. I took the 10:00am ferry over to Placencia rented a golf cart for $35 for 4 hours and spend the day at Mariposa Pool bar.
My wrist band stated 12:30 the tour operator stated that 12:30 was the earliest I could return. However she suggested taking the 1:30 or 2:30 ferry over and not wait for the last ferry.
We took the 2:30 ferry arrived at Harvest Caye around 3pm, spend the rest of the day at the beach.
Sorry for the questions.
Would you mind sharing where you rented the golf cart?

Thank you!
How much was the ferry over again? The golf cart sounds like a fun time. We will be there in March and were saddened when we realized our Belize stop wasn't actually in Belize. Thank you!
