  1. The first two weeks of December are the least expensive by far. August and September the past few years are the most likely to have hurricanes. If you can't book the first two weeks of December, the first couple weeks of November would make for good backup dates.

Very helpful, thank you! I’m thinking the weekend after Thanksgiving possibly- hoping it will still be warm enough. I’m not brave enough to do September, I had to cancel a WDW trip due to Irma so I’m skittish about Hurricane season, only because it’s so difficult for us to get time off of work. I’d definitely enjoy seeing the Christmas decorations.

  2. Not all. Only the Deluxe Family Ocean View cabins have the huge windows with the seat (The Cat 8b-8D on the Dream and Fantasy). The other OV categories are windows only (some of the 9Cs on the Magic and Wonder in the very front of the ship have a "shelf" under the window because of the curvature of the ship, but it's not a true seat like the Cat 8s on the Dream and Fantasy.)

Just as a note for the verandah - you are not supposed to keep the door open as it a) creates a vacuum effect and b) affects the a/c system for the whole block of cabins which can include OV and Inside where they have no alternative cooling option. So I'm not sure I'd use it as a conversation spot while a child slept unless you were ok with the door being closed.

Thank you for the info about the window seat categories- when it’s time to book it will make it easier to determine what is available. I would either do verandah or those window seats, probably depending on price. Our son will be 5, so I think I’d be ok with him sleeping inside while we relaxed on the verandah. Might be nice to have coffee out there in the mornings as well?

  3. We were thinking right after Thanksgiving, which would hopefully get us just about out of Hurricane season, and before any heavy duty snow here in the northeast, but my concern was it being too cold- sounds like it’s a chance either way?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a favorite time of year to do the Caribbean? My knowledge is very limited!

  4. Hi Guys!

I’m looking for advice- wanting to book a cruise on Fantasy for late Fall/Winter 2019, as soon as the new schedule is released (May??). My son will be in kindergarten so I have no problem pulling him out of school to sail at a lower price. I’m thinking October, November, Early December?

I want to save money, but I also want to be able to enjoy the water at Castaway and use the pools. What would you recommend as lower cost week plus still warm enough to enjoy?

    Thanks for any advice!

  5. Yes my plan (roughly) is to fly in the night before with bottles in checked luggage, stay over at Hyatt at the airport, and remove bottles to carry on before ME comes to take luggage in the morning. I'll check those bottle carriers!

  6. Here is a trip advisor link discussing this- there are a bunch of transport options including a Shuttle/coach to grand central where you can easily grab a cab. Your hotel is a straight shot from the cruise terminal- an easy taxi ride that you can grab outside your hotel.

  7. I always take the train into Manhattan- you couldn't pay me enough to drive in that city lol.

I agree with using your GPS to find Newark airport and it should be very easy to grab a train from there, plus you will know your car is safe in the parking lot. Easy to get back to as well. NYC is a grid and very very easy to navigate once in the city.

  8. Depending on flight the day before, will either fly in by 9am and stay at a wdw hotel and use Magical express OR if I can get a decent direct early on flight we will stay at the Hyatt MCO at the airport which also participates in Magical Express. So no way to stop on way to port :(

I'm way too much of a worry wart to fly in the morning of lol

Like I said, I'm not picky about my Pinot Grigio, and it's not so much about the price, I just don't want to have to run up to the bar every time I want a glass of wine. I can't find any info about room service bringing it.

  9. I'm not at all picky- but do they sell you bottles to keep in your room onboard? I can't find any info except for the 'wine package' for the dinners. Can you buy a bottle at the bars? We have a toddler who will be napping, doing early bedtimes, so I got us a verandah room so we could have a cocktail out there while he sleeps.

  10. Would it be easier just to skip it and buy glasses of wine on board? I'd just like to have a few bottles in our cabin for hanging on the verandah. I know about carrying it on, I'd have to fly it down in my luggage first so it would have to be checked on the plane- prob staying over at Hyatt MCO the night before and from what I understand, no where to purchase at the airport.

  11. Anyone know the ins and outs of carrying wine onboard? The rules say '2 750ml' per person. I am thinking of bringing a 'bota brick' of wine because it will travel easier on the plane (it's in a carton) but they are 1.5 each. Will Disney care that it's the same amount of wine but in one package vs two bottles?
