  1. While Royal lists the 2 ships together they are not in the same class. Emoress is about half the size of Majesty.

Hmm, well that's a bit disappointing. We really didn't even care much about the itinerary here, just wanted to try a small ship after being on Freedom and Oasis classes recently.

  2. Forgive me if this is already known and posted elsewhere, but I just received an email from RC saying my cruise planned for August 2018 on the Empress is being transferred to the Majesty out of Tampa.

We have never cruised on the smaller ships and wanted to try the Empress after heaving the great reviews of the smallest ship in the fleet on here. Looks like the Majesty is in the same class, so no heartburn at this time.

Anyone know where the Empress is going?

  3. Ship - Adventure

    Deck - 7

    Stateroom # - 7542

    Stateroom Category – Oceanview Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Typically yes, but located just outside stairwell. Had noisy group yelling up and down stairs one night.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – This ship has the "old" style balconies, lots of metal with rust, small oval view port. Overall great location though, and good views in ports.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - Never

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Slow drains in bathroom sink and on occasion, in the shower.

Any other comments? - Older ship so some issues are expected. With the exception of the bathroom sink drain, we really had no issues with this room.

  4. My wife and I are just simple Platinum members, but found the easiest way to avoid all headaches on Oasis is to have reservations. We had MTD reservations we made in the mornings all but two nights and never had a wait. Oasis has so many dining options I think we only hit the Windjammer once or twice - yes it is busy but just try to miss peak times and you'll be ok.

If this is your first cruise on an Oasis class ship, keep in mind you also should get reservations for all shows as well to get top seating. I believe these large ships are the only ones that offer reservations for shows.
