I’ve never been on the Glory but I think I know why your Vista Cruise was cancelled. I just got off a 7 day cruise on the Conquest and Vista was in port with us at Cozumel. People on the Vista were saying the engines were broken and they had to spend 5 days at sea before reaching any land.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda glad ours was cancelled! I did not want to make that decision to get on a broken ship or not...haha.I'm very disappointed we wont get to try Vista right now, especially after all the research I did on it, but now is not the time I guess.

We were booked on the 13July Vista sailing and were pretty shocked to find it was canceled.  We called our PVP but couldn't find any other availability going out that day or the next (and we were willing to change our flights to wherever else was open...I mean we had to cancel our flights to Houston from LAX anyway, since we had no reason to go anymore).

Anyway, we're now sailing out of Fort Lauderdale on the Caribbean Princess.  It was what fit our schedule. I've been on 24 Carnival cruises and now this will be my 2nd Princess.  Silver lining...refunded $ and a free cruise next year! It's all good.

Good, I'm so glad you found another cruise to take. I hope you enjoy it!!

I just got off the Glory and loved it. I did not have any kids with me so I can't say to that part but overall it was great.

We are going on the Glory in a few weeks. We just booked on it since our Vista cruise was cancelled. I was on Glory before (for our 1st cruise), but has been about 6 years. Since you just got off of it can you tell me if they had the 80's party & the White Party? I know some of them do, but don't know if they all do? Also, Do you know what night were Elegant nights? How was the CD? Which itinerary did you follow?

Glad to hear you had a great time!

  4. So we were the July 20th sailing on Vista that got cancelled, Was disappointed after so much planning, but it is what it is. I was able to get on the Glory the next day out of New Orleans, so I'm pretty excited. But now I'm back to planning stages. Wondering if anyone who has recently been on Glory and has the "Fun Times". I just want to see Elegant Nights, if the do the "White Party" & "80's Party", and a few other things that caught my eye on Vista schedule. Also, anyone have reviews on the CD, Dustin & Piano Bar player? Also reviews on the Steakhouse?

  5. I was looking at the Cruise Director schedule, hoping Matt was going to be on our cruise on the Vista this summer. Well, unfortunately he signs off the day we embark, July 20, 2019. I have heard such great things about him, I was really looking forward to it. Does anyone have any insight as to whom may be taking over at that point?

  6. I took this cruise in December 2016, so I can't give a report on current weather in the Caribbean. However, it's been a VERY wet summer here in Alabama, especially this week, which brought us out of the drought but is now starting to wear out its welcome. The Birmingham area got hit pretty hard with some spin-up tornadoes this afternoon, but (so far) all we've had here is more rain.

On the cruise, our weather was lovely, except for the morning it rained on us pretty hard in Roatan. When we arrived back in New Orleans, though, it was pretty cold, damp, and miserable!

Oops..... sorry meant to ask that on a different thread.... haha! I am enjoying your review though.... thanks

  7. I just bought new ones after a great deal of research, The brand is PSI Bands. I liked these because they are like a watch band so nicely adjustable and the ball that rests on the pressure point has a dial so pressure can be managed. They also come in various colors. I ordered 1 from Amazon to check it out 1st, then ordered more from "Grommet"(better pricing on the clear one). On our 1st cruise we had "Sea Band" and I hated them. They look like sweat bands on your wrists, not great when you get them wet, and look very unattractive when you are dressed up for dinner or something. I also didn't feel like there was much pressure on them. I can't tell you yet how the PSI Bands work, haven't used them yet, we leave July 2nd, but I think there theory behind the product and the overall appearance is better.

  8. Yes, I just did it on May 21, 2017. I liked the tour. It was quick and since the ship got there early (7:00 am) and left early (2:00 pm), I felt it was perfect for the amount of time we had at the port (shops and other places didn't open until 10). It is about a 3 hour tour. We had time after the tour to walk around and shop before getting back on the ship by the all abroad time - 1:30 pm. The tour guided pointed out other buildings as we toured around like the Embassy's, Hospitals etc. I liked the rum cake at the rum cake factory. The Queen's Staircase you can walk down them and if you are unable to walk, they will drive you down to the end so you can get out and see from bottom looking up. I enjoyed the pina colada they gave us to taste at John Watling's Rum Distillery. I didn't get off at the Chocolate stop, those that did were back in 3 minutes. They said no samples were given and the chocolate was very expensive for a tiny piece of chocolate. They might want to consider eliminating that stop. Our driver was great, I wished I remembered his name. He did trivia about Nassau on the van and those that got the question right he gave them a rum cake as a prize. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who is interested.

Thank you.....that helps alot. Having not done many cruises I'm pretty new to this, and not sure what tour companies to trust. I thought it would be a good way to explore the Island in a short amount of time.
