  1. Hi!

How exciting! Yes, we have undoubtedly met. We are really looking forward to a great cruise with our favorite cruise line. Our names are Twila and Bob. Look forward to seeing you again next weekend. Have a good week making final preparations. Wishing you safe travel to San Francisco.

  2. Hello,

Not sure where to post my question. I am a Cruise Critic member who is currently on the Regent Navigator world cruise 2018. We have just learned about the mix and mingle gatherings each segment. Can someone please tell us the dates, times and locations for these meetings. Evidently, there was a registration period of which we were unaware and are now unable to utilize. Thanks so much.

  3. We're currently on the Regent world cruise. A couple of days ago we walked past a sign for a cruise critic private function. Unfortunately, the event had just ended. I've been a member for some time and would like to know how I can make contact with the representative on board so that I will be notified of the next event. I would love to make contact with other cruise critic members. Thanks so much.

  4. So glad you enjoyed it. Where did you cruise? How long was it? I LOVE this cruise line. So far it is my absolute favorite. Back on their world cruise for 2019. Trying Tegdnt world cruise next January. It's a little larger ship so we'll see. I really enjoy small ships.

  5. We love Silversea. Have sailed with them many times.

Booked again on their world cruise in 2019. Last world cruise with them was spectacular and life changing. Made life long friends. Itinerary for 2019 looks phenomenal! We dressed very casually during the days - jeans, shorts, t-shirts, etc. most nights were informal, which was slacks for men, pants, fairly casual dress or skirt, pant suit for women at dinner. You can choose to attend formal nights in dining room (about 3 times on a 10-12 day cruise) or go upstairs to hot rocks (like we do fairly often) where dress code is always casual, most nights are informal with at least a couple of casual nights (usually first and last nights). Such a wonderful, comfortable, and friendly cruise line. Within 24 hours it seems that all the crew addresses us by name. Feels like family by the end of the cruise.

  6. Hi,

My husband and I have cruised on Silversea many times and have found them to be fairly reasonable with the dress code. There are a couple of formal nights on 10-12 night segments, but you can always avoid them by going to the upstairs restaurant for the "hot rocks" or room service. Most nights are business casual which simple means a sport coat. We live on the beach and are VERY casual folks and have never had a problem with the formality. Most of the Silversea cruisers are over 50 and quite experienced cruisers. We have found them to be friendly, warm and very welcoming to single travelers. Yes, there are LOTS of single ladies on board who would enjoy a male with whom to share a meal, dance or maybe an excursion. The dress during the day is quite casual, with shorts, t-shirts, and sandals very common. We were on the world cruise with them a couple of years ago and will do it again in 2019, due to an incredibly interesting itinerary. We absolutely LOVE this cruise line and look forward to our next adventure with them. Next January we are trying Regent, which is a little larger than Silversea, due to their exciting itinerary so we will be able to compare the two lines. Good luck in your adventures and happy cruising. Let me know if you have any more questions about SS. I love talking about them.

Good morning (at least here in Germany right now).

I used to do the big ships in the past, but this is about to change. I want more intimacy, more atmosphere, better cuisine.

So: I am a male solo traveler which is a bad bad thing when it somes to cruising. However, I keep finding special Silversea offers now and then that are on a pricing level not much higher than let´s say Celebrity. This is how Silversea came into my focus.

But I am a little worried about the atmosphere on board. How formal is it during the day? How much do I have to dress up at night? How relaxed or elite is the atmosphere on board?

I would love to receive some input from you Silversea experts in order to decide whether Silversea could be a possible future choice for me or not. Thank you.

  7. Just joined Cruise Critic tonight and anxious to meet other world cruisers. We've been on the Silver Whisper world cruise before and found it to be a life-changing and life-giving experience. The crew is amazing. They are warm, friendly, efficient, and professional. Our last world cruise was in 2014 and I remain FaceBook friends with many of the staff and crew. The Whisper is a perfect size ship for a world cruise. It's large enough to have ample amenities and choices, but small enough to have an intimate feeling. We were fortunate to get to know most of the other passengers on our cruise and have made lifelong friends with many of them. There are so many positive aspects of Silversea. The Captain and crew were always available to us, listening to our ideas and/or concerns. The ship was cared for meticulously, with hand sanitizers available everywhere (which becomes so important when you're living in such close proximity). The excursions were the best we have ever experienced on any cruise line and it was always so comfortable when they fill their buses only about half full. The excursions were creative, entertaining, beautiful and FUN!!! Even in very remote areas we always felt safe, knowing that Silversea had planned for any contingency. They always sent a crew representative with each group in case there was any difficulty during the excursion. We have stayed in their royal suite, silver suite, and midship veranda suite and have been extremely pleased with each of them. We are currently booked on the 2019 world cruise, which has an absolutely spectacular itinerary and includes time in the beautiful South Pacific Islands as well as Africa. We are so very excited to reconnect with many of our friends and would love to make new ones. Please let me know if anyone is interested in or booked on a Silversea World Cruise. I would love to hear about your experiences.
