Allow me to share on two (2) situations.  First, the Haven 2-bedroom Family villa.  this is an extremely nice suite.  The second bedroom is just fine with a topper. The balcony is about the size of a Penthouse. The two-bedrooms have a smaller and larger veranda. Deck 18 is the smaller one and Deck 17 is the larger one.  The larger veranda has a very small area that extends in front of the shower.  No Two Bedroom Family villa are NOT in the bow of the ship to my knowledge.  They are on the sides.

On (H2) Deluxe Owners Suite with Large Balcony.  There were only two of these puppies on the ship. They are in deed located above the Horizon Observation Lounge. They are indeed located in the front Bow of the ship where the veranda goes around the the side of the ship.  I was in one on the Joy for my Anniversary with my adult Children end of 2022.  I got this suite by being cancelled many times due to covid, took 125% FCC, had a 20% off coupon which was given after the third cancellation.  I LOVED this suite.  I even did a YouTube video on it.  This was without a doubt the nicest suite I have ever stayed in.  It was HUGE, it came with three bottles of spirits and all the mixers one could ever need.  When the ship was going at full speed, the balcony was windy for sure.  It did not stop us from enjoying it at all.  If the wind got to you, you had two choices.  You could go around the side which had a wind door and problem solved.  You could also go to the balcony connected to the Master Bedroom suite which was completely blocked by the wind.

My family is very hard on me because they don't like cruising as I do.  I have never had a time where we all were so happy with everything as that 7-day cruise.  I enjoyed the experience so much being on the Bow that I just upgraded my upcoming trip on Oceania Cruises to a Vista Suite about the same size as the Owners Suite on the Joy in the same location (Bow) of the ship. We are actually, the deck above the Captains bridge.

Cruise well everyone and enjoy every moment.

I wonder if using a travel agent is the cause for international guests.  We booked directly through NCL.  I know the luggage tags and letter are completely unnecessary, and I have purchased the plastic luggage tags for holding cruise tags, but receiving them in the mail does add to the excitement for me.  Sort of like receiving the personalized welcome package from Disney World before a vacation….it just feels special.

    Could be!

I’m in Canada and upgraded to a suite on my last cruise, and they did actually mail out the typical welcome letter and luggage tags.  I’m surprised they don’t for Europeans.

You were lucky..we have booked several havens (last was last feb on the Escape) and have never got the luggage tags or letter or email..my awesome travel agent prints them off for us, and I just email the concierge desk, who have always replied..with our reservations, wants, and egg crate topper for the second bedroom for our friend.  Dinner reservations after learning the hard way when we had to miss Teppanaki on one cruise!

I've recently developed a taste for bourbon.  Until then martinis were my drink of choice.  On my next cruise in September, I'll be in the Haven.  In the Haven Lounge they make a "smoked old fashioned".  I intend to give that a try!  I'll still drink my martinis, but I'm going to try new things!

Definitely try them, they are the bomb!  Going back on the Haven again , one of the big reason is this!

  6. We did do a transatlantic Rome to Miami last year, quite enjoyed it (Getaway)

    1.  We Use the laundry facilities..(the steward picks up and delivers, at most one day service). Stuff a laundry bag for (last I heard $29.99) we are sapphire so we each get one free, but even before that we paid.  Caveat..high heat dryers, so nothing delicate if you are worried.someone said take a picture as sometimes things can get lost..my friend had a sock go missing, but it was no hassle, she got credited obc.
Also they have a rule string in the shower area if you want to hand wash small items.  I pick two colors and try to pack around that, layer, layer..and I find the ship cool in the evenings so I pack a few light sweaters..

    2.  We keep to one bag and one carton, and use packing cubes..and I still have clothes I haven’t worn.  We also fly usually so that limits suitcases

    3.  Nope.  Unless you are wearing truly memorable taffeta or sparkly stuff, and even then won’t care..you do you.

    4. sounds good.  I bring flip flops, comfortable sturdy shoes sor shore excursions, ballet flats, and wear comfy slip on lots for the plain.  My boots and shoes are waterproof

    5.  no self serve laundry on ncl

    6. Nope

I had a price drop one month before sailing,  called in to NCL and was told I would get the difference as FCC after the sailing was completed.   Waited a month after sailing and no FCC.  Now NCL resolutions are saying I never requested it but my PCC can see the request in the system.

  8. On the getaway right now..howl at the moon, burn the floor, and million dollar quartet is scheduled (only 3 shows for entire trip.  A violinist and soprano singer. Several comedy acts, an illusionist and a couple more shoes..different bands around playing Beatles, different genres..just starting to warm out so seeing more outside bands being scheduled.  A new show junked..dinner and show you pay for..we didn’t see it.  We are in haven so haven’t eaten mer or buffet this cruise, but have heard mixed reviews..we have been too happy with what we have got so far (Shanghai’s, o Sheehan’s, bistro have all been excellent
