I think we are going to go to the Melia. I noticed that they don't list day pass prices on their website, so we'll just jump in a cab and head there. Thanks for the suggestion. What great tips! We love little local places like that and we'll definitely check it out.Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk

What great tips! We love little local places like that and we'll definitely check it out.Cool. If you decide on the Melia... you'll just grab a taxi at the port (easily) and it'll take you over. Short ride. We did Blue Lagoon a couple weeks ago and liked it as usual, but I think we'd prefer avoiding the excursion lines, waiting, and all that nonsense and just grabbing a cab on our own time. Plus Melia has better facilities, pools, towel service, etc. If you do go to the Melia, go out the front door and right there at the front of the parking lot.... there is a Daq Shaq where many locals/hotel staff hang out after work. They make the absolute best daiquiris you'll ever have - all with fresh fruit. It'll ruin the typical bar "mixes" for you, forever.Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk

Thank you!"They all have clear water. At RIU, I was swimming in water to deep to stand. I forgot my sunglasses were on my head. My DH found them after I noticed, 15 minutes later, on the sand at the bottom. Ds14 swam down and grabbed them for me. Lots of black and white fist sized fish swimming around.Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk

Thank you! I'll take your advice as we are novice travelers.Everything has clear waters and white sand. I'm not sure of any that include all drinks. Good luck with that. If you find one, you'll end up paying for it anyways. You asked about Blue Lagoon. I've been twice and quite like it. If it's clear, calm water and white sand you are looking for on a little island - you will like Blue Lagoon a lot. They have a bar you can buy drinks at and lunch is included free.
Another option is a day pass at the Melia. But you will be paying for food/drinks. When you consider it's $40 less than Blue Lagoon, you can factor in a few drinks and food for the money saved. Melia also includes snorkel equipment usage, towel service, pools, lounge chairs, etc.
Next time we sail into Nassau, we'll probably go to Melia on a day pass or just get a room at Baha Mar for the day.

Have you had luck finding a place similar to LFK?

Really we are looking for the clear waters. Do those hotels have them? If not do you know where to go?Coco Cay is RCL private island. The AI include Breezes, RIU, Sandals (adult only), plus I think there are a couple of others.Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk

We are staying at red roof inn and roadway inn. Use trivago to find cheaper hotels.

Hi everyone! We are looking for a beach club or beach break Excursion where the beaches are White Sands and the waters are turquoise and clear. We are also looking for food/drink included and a relaxed environment (hammocks, umbrellas, lounges). Does anyone have any recommendations? Is Coco Cay a good option or is it too far from Nassau? any thoughts on Blue Lagoon? Thanks for the help!

Yikes! I'm still in search of a hotel/parking. Maybe i'll wait until a hotels . Com sale or just book a couple days in advance of arrival? I know sometimes hotels will lower their prices in the approaching days to get people to book.i did a quick search and got $150, no hidden awesomeness.hotels.com and maybe others, they just had a 50% off sale and i noticed that the retail prices jumped dramatically, but there were still some good deals.
$126 for holiday inn which includes cruise parking and a shuttle last i heard. Tremont House, a few others had some really good deals. But they raised the retail rate on almost all of them.
I think retail on Holiday Inn Resort was like $376, i doubt anyone ever paid that much for the december date i checked. All the retail rates jumped, but the price you could book at during their sale was very good.
I could be misremembering but I think Super 8 isnt even on the beach. I would either want the beach to enjoy or near the strand, like harbor house.
I saw a few who booked that waterpark hotel, because it has cruise parking and its been varying from $93 to $99. It might also have a shuttle i forget.
Ive booked Howard Johnsons a few times because there was a discMotount parking lot across from it, but not at the current rates i see for Howard Johnson, its a crappy hotel and im not that picky.
Super 8, is a NOT on my list. Nothing to recommend it.
Motel 6 is on my never again list. I was in season and desperate one time and booked it. never again. have to pay for wifi, and then i had to change rooms to get even off and on wifi. no breakfast, just coffee. rooms look like space ships. on the main highway, close to super 8, location not good.
I havent cruised in a while and I have noticed a lot of the cheapie hotels seem to have doubled their rate since i last cruised.

I would love to know this as well. We were looking forward to going to lfk but our itinerary was changed to nassau. (Not complaining) Our cruise is dec 3rd, so we need to find a place stat!Traveling to Nassau in a few months. Not excited about this port of call. Last time I went I did not even get off. However, I'd like to give it another shot.I will be traveling with my mom (mid 50s) and daughter (almost 7).
We are looking for something sort of similar to a day at Little French Key in Roatan.
We considered Blue Lagoon but reviews are mixed.
I won't say that money is no object but we'd be willing to spend a little bit more for a great experience. The "walk around the island" quality of LFK was great, and I loved that many of the areas had shady spots for sitting and lots of not-too-deep water. Just swimming around baking in the sun for hours does not sound like a good idea.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

We're in az too!! Totally true! I wear sweatshirts to bed now and it's in the 70's at night. This issue just occurred to me too for our new years cruise. Is the water park at Atlantis even worth it at that time of year? We are from Arizona. At 80 degrees we are wearing hooded sweatshirts!Sent from my SM-S902L using Tapatalk

I've been trying to find the post that stated the hotel that offers free parking and shuttle to the port. We have an early December cruise with RCCL and would appreciate any suggestions. It all seems so overwhelming.

Thank you for posting! It's beautiful there.Big French Key is the island right across from LFK. Carnival used to contract with LFK at one time until they decided not to renew the contact with the cruise line and so the cruiseline decided to build their own across from it in the same cove area. I took pictures of it after it was done when we were over at LFK.This is the cove area: LFK on left and BFK on right .... what it used to look like.
Looking over at BFK
What it looks like now after being cleared off and leveled out:
Unfortunately, because of the hurricanes , our itinerary has completely changed. We are no longer going to Mexico and Honduras. Instead we are going to The Bahamas. Now I have to find a good beach break in Nassau or surrounding areas. Thank you again for taking the time to update us. Hopefully in the future we will be able to visit LFK.

I FINALLY received an email back. The only thing they said was that "passage to LFK was $35 per person" . I don't know how much food would be. I think there's a communication breakdown. Oh well. One of the FAQ is "can we add activities once we get there?" The answer is:Sure, the activities prices are as follows:
Paddle Board………….$25 for the day
Kayak…………………..$25 for the day
Snorkel gear………….$10 for the day
Snorkel Tour………….$10 per person upgrade
Horseback Swimming…….$25 per person
Mani/Pedicure…………$30 per person
Guided Snorkel Tour……$20 per person
Massages:…………$30 per person for 30 minutes
$60 per person for 60 minutes.
Yet the least expensive package includes several of the ala carte offerings. There is an inconsistency on the web page. I recommend emailing until you get an answer, and if you want to point out the confusion.

Yum! We still have yet to book for December. Our cruise is offering an excursion to Big French Key that is cheaper but it might not be as nice or include food. I have to research.

Thank you! I found that Rony's goes there but it's still $88/per person. I have a feeling one can not pay as you go at LFK.Check some of the private exclusion sites and look at trip advisor. Victor Bodden tours and Rony's tours are highly rated.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app

Does anyone know if LFK offers pay as you go or do you have to purchase a package? The "cheapest" package doesn't even include food/drink and does include stuff we wouldn't use (kayak, paddle board, etc.). I've emailed them two times but no response. Thanks for any help!

Oh no! Be safe! Thanks for your reply.Yes, they do provide transportation. When you book they send you an email telling where they pick you up.Looks like a tropical storm may be hitting there in the next few days.

We want to reserve at this place and would love to know the answers. I hope someone responds. We are planning on going to Little French Key next month and have reserved the full island package. I am wondering about the food included in this package. I have heard they just bring you a plate. My husband does not eat seafood so can we request what we want? Also, Do they have floats available for the water?
I have heard that this resort gets crowded and they don't limit the amount of guests?
Do you know if they provide transportation to and from port?

We are driving from Phoenix to Galveston for a cruise in Dec and are interested in the best route to get there as well as hotels along the way and in galveston, for the night before departure. We don't need anything fancy but are completely unfamiliar with Texas. We are also interested in recommendations for parking at the port, preferably close to rccl. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
