We just got back from the cruise on 8/21/17. Two things I did not plan for in Cinque Terre

1 - While the puctures are beautiful, when it's too hot and too crowded it can be ugly there.

2 - On a good day trains rides take 10 mins between stations. On a bad day, we waited 45 minutes for a train in the hot summer.

Even the ferry ride takes Too long wait due to big crowd. If I knew what I know, I will ONLY go to Monterosso - it is more relaxing and enjoyable. I can do one quick stop at Manarola for pic but that's about it. If you do not have a lot of time and going in the summer with kids, just go to Monterosso and Manarola. Just sharing my experience.

We did a quick stop for picture at Pisa leaning tower (took a train). That worked out perfect. We caught 915am train from Naples port and was at Cinque Terre by 1PM. I do not recommend Vernazza for families. It is more for younger crowd and too crowded. Monterrosso and Manarola are better places. Beware we had to wait 45 minutes for the train at the Cinque Terre stop (manarola) on our way back to ship!!Plan some time to get back by train. Do not take the last schedule.

Also watch out for pickpockets at Pisa. As soon as we got off the train a group of women from age 8 to 50s was following us too close and actually saw one of them trying to open the purse of someone in our group. They knew we saw her so they went away.

Question on seeamalficoast tour - their Amalfi tour is for 8 hours on the website and on the booking confirmation there is a note that said there is extra €40 for each extra hour beyond 8.

My question is - how strict are they about this 8-hour rule?

I was disappointed since I felt that this information should have been up front and part of their website. If you book the tour it would be 8 hours give or take? Why be so uptight?

Romeinlimo advertises their Amalfi tour for 9 hours.
