  1. This is an interesting thread for me, I wonder if NCL does it differently for the UK to the US. I am a long time cruiser though this is going to be my first time on NCL. On other lines, it is normally the case that the earlier you book you tend to get the best price like mentioned on here. However I have had the opposite case with NCL.

I booked our cruise 18 months ago and in that time the price has just kept dropping. I have cancelled (losing the £200 deposit) and rebooked twice so far to save money and I still could have done it a third time if I was going to bother with the hassle for another £80 saving (after losing the £200 deposit).

It has gone back up in the last few months though even now with just over 4 months to go, the cruise is still £770 less than what I originally paid for it. I don't know now how to play it for future cruises..

I did a search and didn’t get any relevant hits. But I’m sure I’m not the first to ask this question.

I like many, lift and shifted my booking twice over Covid. When I originally booked, I booked the top package (premium drinks, wifi, tips, OBC). Over the course of Covid it appears Celebrity introduced a second tier of internet?

Others who lifted and shifted booking from 2019 did you get high speed or the basic wifi?

Normally I would ping my TA, but they were let go, as was their replacement, so now I’m just an anonymous record in a computer at a TA that is too busy to help people.

Can you see it in the order history of your cruise planner? Mine shows as 'Always Included Xcelerate Surf' which means I have the basic one. Stream would mean you have the premium / high speed one I believe

I think your answer 5 should be 5 not 4.     "Zipline over the canopy of Puerto Vallarta’s lush jungle,"

There is only 4 options showing when I look at it, hence it is 4 for me

5 – Zipline over the canopy of the           lush jungle.
      Ensenada
      Mazatlán
      Cabo San Lucas
      Puerto Vallarta

    You get a 5th option?

I am on day three of trying to call.  So far I've probably tried at least a half of dozen times and wasted over 10 hours with no first response yet .... But I do keep getting the e-mails telling me to call before the deals expire!  HaHa

I guess either I was lucky in the UK or there is no issue with calling here. The first call was answered in 10 mins, the 2nd one was answered in under a minute. Maybe try the UK number if it does not cost you too much to call.

How did you show them the screenshot?  I am in the same situation...I've been trying to book online and always get an error message. I'm now on my third phone call to customer service and have been on hold for almost 2 hours while they wait for a supervisor.  I do have a screenshot of the $12 per day upgrade price.

I had to do it while on the phone with the second agent. I did ask the first time around if I could have an email address to send it (if I found something) and they said no, I had to call.

The agent I spoke to then emailed me, which had her direct email address at celebrity, to which I replied with the screenshot. Only took a couple of mins to exchange the emails.

Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

  6. I have been trying to upgrade the beverage package on my cruise online for weeks but kept getting an error when adding it to the cart. I had a big shock today to see it had gone up so much and did not know they had done a price increase on the upgrade.

I gave them a call and said about not being able to book it etc and I want to get it at the earlier price. 50 mins later and supervisor involved, they told me that I had to provide a screenshot of the original price. Of course I did not have that and only of the error I kept getting, they would not budge and I hung up.

I was subsequently trying to find any info I had on the original price with no luck. I was also playing about with the planner when I clicked on recently viewed (at the top) and there it was in its original price on the dropdown. Quick screenshot and call later and got the original price.

Very happy and a good tip for anyone else needing a screenshot of an original price of something in the planner.

Can you post a larger/wider view of this picture for these cabins?

I've been searching to find a picture of cabins 8146 or 8746.  These two are considered MC/MX cabins.  I would love to see how the balcony looks as they are smaller than the M6, but possibly large enough for loungers.

8146 is already in that picture, its the last cabin on the left with no overhang.

I have tried to zoom in on it a bit more for you but the picture quality is not that good, its the middle one here. Looking at it, its angled where the divider is about a 1/3 less on the right side but the left is the same as the other B6. So you should be able to get at 1 lounger on the left side, not sure if two would fit

  8. Thanks for coming back on this, that would make sense, I must have either seen escape photo's or ones that were not from that section.

I have since found a photo that gives me a close up of all those balconies and I can see all 12 rooms are the same i.e. none have a better overhang. The one we have now is one of the two rooms on the far left which has the overhang. Guess I have to work out if its worth taking the risk to cancel since this looks like the only alternative

  9. Sorry if this has been asked before, I could not find anything while searching.

We are traveling with Norwegian for the first time next year and just seen that the cruise price has dropped quite a bit since we booked. We contacted the TA and they advised that we could not take advantage of the price drop (in the UK) on our booking and we would simply have to cancel and rebook.

We originally picked a B6 room due to the reviews saying it has a big balcony (so it will have a sun lounger) and an overhang that allows some degree of privacy. The challenge is that there is no B6 room left and if we cancel there is no guarantee we can get the room back we booked, as there is a time delay before the room is released for rebooking (TA said this).

Looking at other options, it seems the closest to a B6 type balcony is a M6 (without paying more than current the B6) and every room there is currently available. I have tried to find somewhere online a picture of the balcony to see if there is an overhang and getting mixed results i.e. some show with one and some with none.

Anyone have any idea of which M6 rooms on the Norwegian Joy have an overhang from above? or alternatively if there is a better option that gives some privacy but a large balcony still.

  10. I finally got the energy to call Celebrity today regarding what options I had given everything on offer on the email (other than a refund) is outside the timeframes for taking the same cruise later.

I was however very pleasantly surprised and there was no issue at all about moving the cruise to Dec 2022, even though it is 7 weeks outside the original departure date and well past the supposed FCC expiry at the end of September.

The FCC was included, got the same perks + same room too and its nearly £200 cheaper than the original. Happy with this result and now just hoping for Australia get the vaccine rollout completed by then and open the borders...

Worth giving a call if anyone has a same cruise option available outside the 4 weeks, less hassle than trying to FCC it later and a new booking

  11. Wow just got a 50 PUP 'to the exotics' webinar just land in my mail box for next Thursday. I am guessing a quite a few people have got it as the registration page errored and timeout out a few times before I finally registered. Does not bode well for the actual webinar....

  12. I got the email today too for this offer but I cant seem to get it to work with 'always included'. Once I put in my membership number, I get the discount but then I get asked if I want to pay for tips and the final screen says nothing about what is included (which shows the 3 included if I do not use a code).

Unless I am doing something wrong or something is not setup correctly with celebrity, it seems this offer is for just the sailing and no perks. Anyone managed to get them combined?

As I scrolled way  down through the notice, I found that our cruise has been suspended too.

You must have had a completely different notification to me then. Mine had all my booking details at the top and told me in the first paragraph my cruise (or 'upcoming voyage') is cancelled... Probably typical of Celebrity that even after months of this, they cannot produce a uniformed comms on it 🤣

  14. I got the email this morning cancelling our barrier reef cruise in December, kind of sad but equally not unexpected given the government announcement there. Did think they would hold out another month before actually cancelling it.

I may have missed it somewhere but I was a bit surprised to get the offer of taking the shore excursions bookings as a 125% FCC, I thought it was only the cruise itself that offer was for. The default is a straight refund (which I think i will take given the timing), just have two week to tell them if I want the FCC.

Now to decide if I want to try and battle them to lift and shift instead as the ones next year are both outside the 4 week window and 1 or 2 days different in itinerary.

  15. I also have booked one of the Australian cruises in December this year and yes it is very annoying that we dont know what will happen with it and the final payment will be due soon.

But in some credit to Celebrity here, they are a bit at the mercy of the governments too. I am not sure where I read it but its believe there is an update due before the 17th September i.e. when the current cruise ship ban expires as to whether they extend the ban or not. If they extend it, it likely means there will not be much, if any, of a cruise season there. So I don't think Celebrity will make any major movements until they see what is announced

I called the Captains Club to ask about the Beverage Package Upgrade and she checked on it and told me it was not part of the sale at this time if you received the Classic Package as a perk. The discount is only available if you are purchasing one of the packages. If you purchased one of the packages you can cancel it and repurchase it at the sale price.

Thanks for checking in to this, I was hoping it was just a glitch but will wait.

So, I just checked our upcoming cruises...two aren't until July, so of course, nothing on sale there...

BUT, the other two are in April on Millennium...and not a single shore excursion is showing as being on sale on either cruise!

I just checked and not one of the excursions for the Apex TA May 2021 has a sale price.😩

Not sure if it is the same for you as me, I thought there was nothing for sale on mine, as nothing was indicated on the tours saying that. However it turns out the majority (maybe all, only done some spot checks and they had it) of the excursions on the cruise have a 20% discount. The way to check is look up your brochure here https://www.celebritycruises.com/excursion-brochure/celebrity/ and compare the price in your planner versus what is in the brochure.

  17. Thanks for the heads up on this. It seems the full beverage packages are on offer for my cruise but not the upgrade one, anyone got that on offer? Mainly asking as I had the perk added today so not sure if its not showing the sale price correctly as a result

To find out for sure what you can Lift & Shift to use their on-line tool where you put in your reservation details and it gives you your available selections.  Start at this link and check "Select Program" under the "Same Cruise, Same Price" program.  Any other speculation given on this board is just that.

    https://cancellation.celebritycruises.com/?brand=C

Thats a handy tool, thank you posting up that. I was wondering if I could lift and shift my cruise as the same one has 1 extra night next year, so this confirms I cant. Weirdly it does let me lift and shift to a completely different itinerary cruise where the only thing the same is the number of nights and the start / end port, not doing that...

  19. Incase anybody is still looking at this, I would double check if you would make a saving or not. As usual the celebrity website is not the best so make sure your captain club number applies and you go through all the screens to the very end.

In my cruise, it appeared to make no difference in the price displayed for the room when selecting it or subsequently picking best value and the perks screen. On the last screen it dropped in price by £275 ($340) versus what I had rebooked for in the sale earlier this month. So the only difference is swapping the free wifi perk I had for $200 on board credit. Gave them a call and they changed it no problem and happy with the saving 😁
