  1. I've been on several Princess cruises now and never needed to sign up with Princess before as its possible to do everything on the app or  using the booking reference to access the cruise personalizer.

I'm just wondering what the benefits are to registering, it says special offers but the cynic in me wonders how special those offers are likely to be.

Can you give me your views at tho whether its worth registering.

    TIA

Not sure what the T&C for the packages was before the new announcement on 27/07, but now the T&C explicitly state "Packages and their parts may be changed or revoked at any time...."  Maybe look for this verbiage with your previous package.

@Mr Sea Gull, IDK if UK is different, but it has been clear that the guests with old package price receive drinks up to $15.  Drink prices increased.  By increasing the per drink price ceiling, guests can still get the drinks they would have got before under the old ceiling.  I suspect bad information not carefully vetted before posting on website (not the first time).

Yes that was what I believed was correct that the drink price had increased. Should not be different in the UK it would cause mayhem with the multiple international guests. Hope your right that the info just hasn't been vetted. On Sky for the 1st cruise that these new upgrades start on so fingers crossed.

  4. I booked last year and have Original Plus and believed that only the new additions were not now included. Drink prices were supposed to be up to $15 increased from the previous $12 which was confirmed by cruisers when the change took effect.

Today the previously upgraded plus and premier have been upgraded again and apparently these new upgrades are also excluded as we booked a year ago.

In the new terms and conditions they now state the following for Original Plus

"The Plus Beverage Package included in the Original Princess Plus Package includes all beverages priced up to $12.00 USD each as listed on Princess’ menu(s). "

    and for Original Premier

"The Premier Beverage Package included in the Original Princess Premier Package includes all beverages priced up to $18.00 USD each as listed on Princess’ menu(s)."

    then this

    Upgraded Princess Plus Package Terms:

*The Plus Beverage Package included in the Upgraded Princess Plus Package includes all beverages priced up to $15.00 USD each as listed on Princess’ menu(s).

    Upgraded Princess Premier Package Terms:

*The Premier Beverage Package included in the Upgraded Princess Premier Package includes all beverages priced up to $20.00 USD each as listed on Princess’ menu(s).

So are they now downgrading what has been on offer since the original upgraded version?

Currently on Virtuosa with 5000 onboard. I'm doing a live a couple of posts down from this one which you might want to read. We have the basic wifi and it's fine so far. Last year I remember we lost it briefly going into/ out of the Fjords.

Maybe browse wifi will be ok for me, do you know if you can Whatsapp call someone on browse?

Sorry to hear about your friends, hope they have got everything sorted by now.

TBH even in YC I don't think things are as good as they should be, nothing terrible but service slow at times, things not available ( no granola at breakfast this morning) etc. We did not even see our butler yesterday, the assistant one made up our room and we asked after him but she said he was covering another section. I get the impression they are short staffed. If it was our first time I don't think we'd book it again when you consider the cost. Hoping it will improve as the week goes on.

If it's not good in Yacht Club what hope is there for the rest of the ship!

  7. HI I am thinking of booking a cruise on VIrtuosa to Iceland and Norway which is 14 nights. I have previously only been on the Virtuosa during the pandemic for a weeks British Isles cruise where there were only 1000 passengers onboard.

I am a little concerned if I would enjoy the trip as much with over 5000 people onboard and would like some views please on how the ship is with so many passengers. Can you still comfortably use venues?

When sailing from the UK what is entertainment like etc are there any differences to sailing from other countries..

What are MSC excursions and shuttle buses like.

I would need Wifi and would like peoples views on which is the better package, browse or browse and stream. How well do both these wifi packages work, especially in Northern Europe.

Thank you in advance any views much appreciated.

I booked my two premier specialty dinners on the app with no issues. It showed me I had dining credits, and when I got to the payment page of the reservation it showed the final price as 0:00, and removed one credit.

I booked our two premium Speciality meals on the app, it showed 0.00 but it still says you have dining credit when I go into DMW .

Purchased way before the new Plus price increase.  Shows $12 (free) beverage limit, however, it includes new desserts, fitness classes, juice bar and Medallion shipping.

Hi  we have Premier but on the packages section of the app it doesn't show anything regarding the Juice bar, Premium desserts or Fitness classes yet these are supposed to be covered as we booked in March after the additions.

  10. Thank you for that, I have checked the cruise personalizer and along with the invoice it notes the 4 devices per person. I will follow your advice and do a mock booking, good to know you can book or bail.

If everything shows as correct except for the app I suppose it is ok to presume it can be sorted once onboard if it doesn't in the app before, pain to have to waste precious time at guest services though.

  11. Just booked a cruise with Premier. Now I am Platinum and under the medallion net tab it no longer shows having 4 devices but says I can purchase wifi with 50% discount. Its obviously noted I have the Premier Package because it shows dining credit.  Can you use the dining credit to book specialty dining pre cruise without them taking it from your credit card?  Is it likely that it will at some point realise we have wifi booked already through Premier?

    Thanks

It is not about missed ports it is about the port fees/taxes that you pay as part of your cruise fare. This is charge of the port authorities for docking there. If you don't dock then P&O do not have to pay the taxes/fees to the port authority so as they have already charged you they should reimburse you but they never do. It is very naughty of P&O to keep the charge as pure profit. Whenever I have missed a port of call on Princess they reimburse port fees/taxes within 24 hrs to your onboard account.

We have recently returned from a Princess cruise which removed a port for a sea day, we never received anything back for the port taxes. I queried this with Princess and was told you have to claim on your insurance for which they provide a letter. This is not what cruise insurance is for, the missed ports element is for the disappointment in missing the port not for the cruise line to just make extra money and not all insurers cover it. It should be reimbursed like airlines do when you cancel, you are paying for something they are not delivering I'm sure you would not go to a shop to purchase something and leave without the the goods and them saying claim on your insurance.  Our port taxes equated to approximately £12 per port so with 3000 passengers it's a lot of money.

Will do.  The ship is still a bit short staffed and they are trying hard.  I had a chat with Petre and he told me to come directly to him- as his favorite guest he will always fit us in”.   What a smoozer but made me happy.

Any chance of a photo of Petre, just wondering if he's the same Petre we know.
