  1. No...You won't get both. Just the experience you paid for. I have noticed alot of Wellness cabins being available. They may be allowing some additional Aurea experiences. Double check your confirmation of booking. IMO...huge difference between Wellness and Aurea...Most importantly the unlimited beverage plan and separate sun deck area!!
Ahh...makes sense I guess. Our confirmation shows B3, which is correct (even though it's in the "wellness" area). Thanks for the response.

  3. During the booking process for an upcoming cruise I booked a B3 (Aurea balcony) on forward part off deck 13. However, from all the deck layout diagrams I've seen, the forward part of deck 13 is designated as BW (wellness). So, which is it, a B3, a BW or are they synonymous? If the latter, do we get the Aurea experience as well as the Wellness perks?

  4. That's why WiFi needs to be turned back on after putting the phone into Airplane mode. The purpose is to turn off cellular radios to prevent any charges from the cell company, but still have the phone be fully functional.

Interesting. I'll have to give that a whirl. Thanks for the idea.

  5. Perhaps your phone is different than mine. I put mine in Airplane mode, turn on WIFi, connect to the ship's wireless, and my phone is fully functional.

Curious. The whole purpose of airplane mode is to disable any radio wave communications (blue tooth or wireless) from your phone (and so not interfering with flight instrumentation during takeoffs/landings).

  6. If you put your phone in airplane mode, you won't have any charges from your cell company.

Agreed, but it turns your phone into a brick. I guess my frustration is that one can't use the apps on their expensive cell phones as effectively as they can with a cheap Kindle.

  7. So, as a perk, you get unlimited wireless on your cruise. Does this mean you won't get charged if you use your phone to text or use other communication apps? Probably not. Everything you do on your phone goes through your provider, so although your connection may be free, you're likely racking up data charges with you favorite phone company. So... on to my question: Is it best just to leave your phone at home? Is it better to bring a tablet that's loaded with your favorite communications apps and has no connection to wireless providers?

  8. Due to a freak weather situation in Chicago, we missed our cruise's departure, even though we planned to arrive the night before. Holland America has a number you can call which puts you in contact with some wonderful people who will tell you your options and help you in every way they can. We ended up flying to the first port-of-call in Jamaica and boarding there. For us, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. We got to spend two days at the Half Moon Resort, swimming and playing with the dolphins while those on the cruise went through rain. Yes, it was expensive, but in hind sight, we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. I do use TravelGuard now, which covers everything you can imagine for a pretty reasonable price.

  9. Just a head's up: The email says "Up to 45% off select spa treatments".

A call to book revealed it's not true. The deal is buy three spa treatments, get the 3rd at 50% off.

You'd think they'd have to honor what they advertise.

We've not sailed Celebrity before but I'm guessing they will offer deals while on board, true?
