  1. We will be on Carnival Freedom and don't really want to do an excursion are there any shops in the terminal.  Just want to shop a little and buy some blue mountain coffee.  I have tried to research and get conflicting information.  Last time we were there in 2015 there were a few shops in terminal but read some where they are gone now.  Thanks

  2. I have two cruises on the Freedom and I LOVE her! Ship is kept very clean and I did not notice that she was old or worn. Of course, if I looked for that I may found something (you can find this on ANY ship that is not brand spanken new!). I also did not have any problems with the food, cold food was cold and hot food hot. I am sure some people can find fault with the food since taste is personal preference. If you do not like an item you can always order another item off the menu. I do not have to clean or cook so it is all good to me! Enjoy!

I agree with this We love the freedom and all ways found food we liked, in main dining room and buffet.

  3. Hi we are considering another Carnival Cruise for January. My two previous Carnival cruises we didn't get FTTF as I felt embarkation lines moved quickly enough that we didn't need it. I know FTTF is more than just getting on the ship faster but is it worth the money?

    Thanks :)

It is worth it to us love having our room ready luggage early usually unpacked by muster and at least by early dining. No line at guest services. But only you can decide if it is worth it to you

  4. For me, the biggest difference is the beds and bedding. Carnival uses comfortable beds, thick duvets, soft sheets, and fluffy pillows.

Royal uses a bed that's closer to a cot than a bed (except in some Junior suites and higher) heavy, flat duvets, paper crisp sheets and thin pillows.

If I can't get a decent night's sleep, the cruise can't be considered great.

Thanks for that comparison We were considering trying RCL but if beds are not good will stick with carnival as not getting any sleep would ruin my cruise as I would be to tired to do anything

  5. We wouldn't on that balcony you have two chairs a table and a lounge chair. If you like relaxing on your balcony you like we do you will love it the balcony is quite a bit bigger than a normal one. Unless you like to go to the spa then you may like the spa balcony as I understand they come with some sort of pass to the spa not sure as we have never stayed in one.

  6. Sorry there are no water bottles on the table. There are glass carafes so you are able to fill your water glass when needed. There are table clothes on the elegant nights. The table tops though are very nice looking I didn't miss the table clothes as much as I thought I would.

  7. We were on the Freedom in January and liked what we ordered. Keep in mind that if you don't like the dish you can order something else. There were several things to choose from each night some available every night and others changed. We also love the freedom the crew and service were great from our room steward to the servers in the dining room. We have another cruise booked on her again.

  8. I think this is true for all Carnival ships now. They were rolling out the new American Table fleetwide. I dislike it immensely [emoji35]

I didn't think I would like it either but lack of table clothes didn't bother me and we found the food just as good with something new to try if you want to every night

  9. April of 2019 has not opened up yet for bookings. The latest at this point is 3/23-3/30. For a balcony stateroom, brochure rates pp are 1069 for Bella, 1179 for Fantastica, 1619 for Aurea. All need 142 added for port charges. You get 50 in OBC and wifi and mealtime drinks as included promos with a balcony cabin. Another option is the YachtClub, where you can get an inside for 1669, with 150 in OBC, so it's basically the same as an Aurea balcony. If you imbibe, the YC also gets you drinks all over the ship as well as their own dedicated restaurant. It's similar to the Haven on NCL, but on a budget. Check their website as well as you tube for videos. Here is a link to the online brochures for MSC.

    You tube review.

Our apwrap balacony on freedom is cheeper than the prices you quoted and we can drive to the port. We dont drink that much or go to spa would rather have balcony any day then inside. We have always enjoyed our carnival cruises.

  10. Yes that is true. But Carnival is not noted for being good at communications whenever there is a hiccup. If there is a delay they don't seem to communicate with the cruisers very well. Just reading this forum had shown that has happened many times in the past. I understand things can happen, but Carnival and most cruise lines do a poor job on getting information out. It's not that there is a problem but rather the way they handle the problem that causes the most complaints.

I Dissagree when delayed by fog we received a lot of updates by text and email.
