  1. Hello everyone!

I've been having trouble searching the boards for info on when the bus transfer leaves Anchorage for Whittier to embark. We are arriving a day before our cruise on June 5th, 2019 and staying overnight at the Captain Cook Hotel. It says transfer to ship is included, but I need to know how much time we will have in Anchorage before we have to leave for our cruise, which doesn't leave port until 8:30pm on the 5th. Hoping we don't have to spend hours in Whittier with nothing to do until boarding the ship. Thanks in advance!

  2. Hi everyone! My mother and I will be travelling on the train after our land tour next summer to meet the ship in Whittier and I have some questions. How likely are we to get seating in the domed Princess cars? Are there enough seats for everyone or is it a mad dash to get those prime seats? Are any seats reserved? Does it matter what type of stateroom you are staying in to get better train seating (we will be in a vista suite)? We are doing the Denali Explorer cruisetour. Thanks in advance!

  3. We just returned from Alaska on the Coral, Whittier to Vancouver. The Naturalist on board held several talks which were broadcast on the TV. She also provided information about each up coming port.

The Park Ranger came on board as stated above but we could only hear their commentary in certain spots on the ship on the outside decks. When on our balcony we heard nothing but did not have the TV on.

    Thank you gma rae! :D

  4. I will definitely try to see them catch the ship! Thanks so much again! It's still a year away, but I cannot wait!!!

Park Rangers did join us on the way into Glacier Bay, spent the day on board and left us on the way out... if you get a chance to watch them 'catching' the ship and then leaving it ... its fun to see ... the ship does not stop but just slows down!

Enjoy every minute of your journey. No one can possibly tell you or show you how truly spectacular it is!

  5. Hello All!

My mother and I have booked a Vista Suite (Malaga) on the Island Princess for June/July 2018. We plan to make full use of our wraparound balcony on the Glacier Bay day, but don't want to miss out on the Naturalist. I've read that his talk is broadcast on the TV in the room, as well as over the loud speakers around the ship. Will we be able to hear him over the speakers all the way at the back of the boat or am I going to have to blast the TV and leave the balcony door open? Thanks for any insight or tips!

  7. We booked our cruise 2 months ago. On Tuesday we added the SipNSail promo. The price of our cruise stayed exactly the same, so for us the promo was free. I cannot imagine that I could even come close to drinking 15 beverages, alcohol or not, per day. We are thrilled to have it added to our booking!

We did the same and added the SipnSail to our booking as well! Woohoo! Also got a free specialty dining!:D

  8. People bring bottled water on board using the technique you mentioned, but I've not heard of anyone bringing a case of soft drinks in cans on board and using a luggage tag. Those things can get tossed around and you could find lots of exploded cans. You might want to put the soft drinks in a carry on luggage.

Thanks for the tip! Would they confiscate it out of a carry on? I mean, it's not alcohol so I would think it's no biggie, but still...

  9. Hello everyone!

This is my first post so hopefully I did it right! My mom and I are taking a cruise to Alaska on the Island Princess in June of 2018. I've been struggling to find a straight answer on the Princess site about bringing my own cans of soda on board (I prefer Pepsi to Coke....and also don't like the idea of grossly overpaying for soda). It looks like in the past people have put a luggage tag on a case and it's been delivered to their stateroom without incident. Is the still an available option? Any tips or ticks if not? Any help is appreciated!
