My family is headed on a Royal Caribbean cruise this summer and will be stopping in Cozumel. There are 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Our desire is to find a place to relax on the beach, swim in the water, and snorkel off the beach (if possible). We will also be stopping in Roatan and Costa Maya and looking to do something similar in those destinations. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding any of these three stops for this type of activity?
- Should we book through the cruise line or on our own? (I understand some of the pros and cons as far as pricing, but my question is more around is it easy and safe to do things on our own?)
- What is the best beach for relaxing and shore snorkeling? How far is the beach from the port?
- Is it safe to arrange our own transportation? If so, are there specific companies to use/not use?
- Are there any other considerations that we don't want to miss in Cozumel?
THANK YOU!

This was a great excursion. As long as you have good water shoes and don't have major physical limitations this is something not to miss!

We enjoyed an excursion at Chankanaab Adventure Park...snorkeling and beach day. There was also a great Restaurant on the beach.

Can anyone comment on the delivery of bags to the staterooms on the first day of the cruise on Oasis of the Seas? I know they say they are not guaranteed to show up until 8pm, and that they recommend bringing a carry on with bathing suits and dinner outfit, but curious what people actually experienced.

I have a 12 year old son and we will be traveling on Oasis soon. Can he get away with dress shorts and a collared shirt in the main dining room on the Smart Casual nights or does he need pants? What would be the appropriate dress for a 12 year old boy on the formal nights?

What are my options of getting water on the ship if I have not bought a beverage package? Sailing on Oasis soon...

Cruising with Royal Caribbean...should we pack beach towels for shore excursion days?

What do you take into each port with you? We are cruising in the Caribbean next month with Royal Caribbean and are first timers.
Do you need to take passports or copies of passports in? Credit cards - do they even work?
If you are doing a water excursion, can someone suggest a waterproof option for these things that works well or do you chance leaving them in a locker onshore? Thank you!!

Does everyone in the group need one of these? Is this something you wear most of the time?

Thanks so much for the reassurance. We have heard that Jamaica is not the safest port and I was a little fearful of driving an hour from the port of that is true. We are booked under a RC excursion so it should be fine. Also was a little concerned about the two stops in one execution...how do they manage that, is there enough time, etc.
Are there lockers at both places? What items did you take with you from the ship? Do you take beach towels? Sorry! We are newbies and have lots of questions. Very excited to hear it was a good experience for you!

We are headed to Falmouth Jamaica with RC cruise next month and has booked the RC excursion to Dunns River and Dolphin Swim. Has anyone done this excursion? We would love to have impressions and tips. Some of the things I've been reading on CC sounds a little questionable and I want to make sure this is a good experience for our family of 4 (kids are 12 and 14). Thank you!

Where do you pick up water taxi to Columbus Cove? Is this a good option? Are they running continuously? Thanks for any help!

Thank you for all the responses. I guess my question is...if I bring me own, will I use it in Labadee if I am NOT doing an official snorkeling excursion? How about Cozumel?

Hi! We are cruising with Royal Caribbean in July snd stopping in Labadee, Falmouth, and Cozumel. In Cozumel we are doing a snorkeling excursion, but I'm curious whether it makes sense to bring our own snorkel gear for the other ports. Just looking for advice to see whether it is worth lugging extra gear with us or not. Thanks!

Paradise Beach - too crowded/reservations?
in Cozumel
Posted
My family and I would like to go to Paradise Beach club when we stop in July on our RC cruise. Our ship is supposed to arrive very early in the morning, but it looks like a busy day in port with several cruise ships. We do not want to do the all-inclusive option, but I am concerned that without making a reservation we may not get a spot. Does anyone have any experience with this?
