  1. Lol! There are some people on here tonight that are not thinking about what they are saying......

Please tell all the people in Rockport that no longer have houses, the people in Beaumont area that have water half way up the outside of there house, the people in the Houston suburbs that have houses that are water infested that the port and airport being open are good signs of improvement.... unbelievable....

Last I checked this a forum for people who cruise. I don't think anyone on here is unsympathetic to anyone's plight in the affected areas. However this is a place for us to discuss our up coming cruise which unfortunately was planned a week after a natural disaster. We are simply trying to discuss our vacation that most have probably planned for months or years and have thousands of dollars invested towards. My heart goes out to everyone in the area and wish them the best. Tell me how having a functional airport in the area is a bad thing??

  2. The whole point of this site is for people to share their opinions. If I don't agree with you on this then sorry. But I am perfectly entitled to my opinion and no I do not believe RC have handled this well at all. Especially when multiple news sources have said the port is closed through Tuesday..

Whilst I might not know when the storm will pass, I do know that gusty winds, strong rain, are expected to persist through Monday. There are 340 weekend flights cancelled in and out of Houston. The Houston area Has been declared a state of disaster. Parts of Galveston have been advised to evacuate. Galveston schools are closed through midweek.

So whilst I would love to be as optimistic as you, sadly I am not.

You do realize the news can say whatever they want. They are NOT the port authority nor did they get the closure info from them. If you follow the port itself, at no time have they said it will be closed until Tuesday. In fact they said their MAY be a window for the ships to come in tomorrow. Update to come tonight. It's a wait and see situation. News outlets tend to sensationalize a situation. So in this instance I'm following the ports FB and I'll get my info from them.

  3. Ok so when you purchase a beverage package you pay $54 per day (just a guesstimate, I know it varies) do you also pay 18% gratuity when you pre-purchase? Or do you pay the 18% each time you buy a beer or cocktail? Or both??

Looking for real experiences, not what you've read. I think their verbiage is confusing and am looking for someone's personal experience.

Also I know people have said Powerade is available at Cafe Promenade and one other bar on LOS. Would that be included in the deluxe beverage package?

  4. I'm going to bring a 12 pk of Coke Zero on our LOS trip in August. People would jump over board if they had to be around me for a whole week with no caffeine 😂. And those bar soda guns just don't have the right taste. It's fine I guess for a mixer but to drink plain I've always thought it tastes like there is not enough syrup in it. JMO

Oh and I'm not a coffee or tea drinker so Soda is my drug of choice😉

So I'm confused, from what I've read they will not allow any water, soda etc. to be brought on board. So are you just packing in your checked bags and hoping they don't take it? Or will they let you bring it in a carry on? So many differing opinions.
