Yep that’s interesting point. Do you know if the price quoted on board for each drink is inclusive of UK VAT or does that get added after like the 18 per cent gratuity? Eg if price for a drink is $14 is that plus 18 per cent or even more!

That wasn’t our experience. The price quoted was the price paid, there was no additional gratuity added. We had 2 glasses of wine at $8 each and the only charge on the bill was $16. 15/7 cruise.

Thanks for the update.   We don't board until October so I expect things will change.   Btw when were luggage tags and documents available?   We're checked in for our October 9th cruise.  Usually documents and tags were available 45 days out.

I think it was about 24 hours before sailing. Too late for us to print luggage labels , they just write them at the port

Bang on….. we particularly want to make sure we can see ‘we will rock you’ as many times as we can…. We saw it on Anthem before and in the west end and it’s an awesome show….. don’t want to miss out

just off Anthem. We will Rock you was on at 19.30 on 2 days and a matinee one afternoon 14.30. You can only book once on board. Currently starring Curly Watts from Coronation Street as Pop. The anytime dining earliest reservation was 18.45 but we asked and they noted on our reservation (1900)we would be there at 1745. There was no problem and we had 3 courses and were out within 1 hour. Service has been very quick in the dining room.

The theatre capacity is greatly reduced with a current capacity of 300 (normally 1300)

Most other shows were 1915 and 22.15.

I would book your shows as soon as you get on board and work from there. The buffet is currently closed after 1500 and 270 after 1700. Solarium bistro never opens.

It is a bit strange eg. waiting to be seated in Windjammer and no self service of drinks but you soon get used to it and the service is very good so no waiting ages for drinks anywhere.

It was lovely to be on such an empty ship with the usual staffing level.

    im sure you’ll love it

Be good to see info if you have it

I still have not received my email for 15th sailing. RCCL said yesterday will be in next couple of days. I wonder if they might change their strategy if they are struggling

We also have a cruise booked with Disney. Disney's testing does make a bit more sense. Kids do the PCR, those vaccinated don't, and everyone has lateral flow at port. RCCL those vaccinated do PCR and kids do lat flow at port

I still haven’t received anything for the 15th sailing. Luckily I’m off work and in the North West of England so hopefully shouldn’t have to go far.

I’m still annoyed as I’m supposed to be holidaying in the North East and the nearest test centre is in Harrogate, a 2 hour drive away.

I’m stressed out about it all as it is - if I was supposed to be at work my stress levels would be through the roof!

Lateral flow testing before boarding seems a much better way to organise it!

  5. In the good old days ie. last year there used to be sales of shore excursions every few weeks. I used to keep a close eye on my booking but haven’t bothered for a few months so don’t know the current state of play.

    Have there been any recently?

Thank you, the cruise next year is much more expensive albeit no GTY cabins showing so I’m comparing to the cabin we’ve been allocated, also Dubrovnik isn’t included which was one of our main reasons for choosing the cruise in the first place 😢😢

have you looked at other cruises. I think it has to be the same number of days but can be on an M or S class ship (assuming your were on M to start with). I don’t think you need GTY to be available, just same level inside/outside/balcony etc.

Hello,  wondering if anyone who’s moved their cruise under the new CWC was in a GTY cabin? That’s what we booked and we had been assigned  our cabin, but when I look at comparable cruises for 2021 there are no GTY cabins, also our cruise when we booked came with airfares included, reading the T’s and C’s it doesn’t look like that perk is included, again has anyone any experience on this - thanks

The airfare doesn’t get transferred over. I would check on the price for next year and see if it’s worth it.

  8. I know I’ve just missed 3 perks for the price of 2 but does anyone know of any upcoming offers? Back when times were normal I remember seeing a post that had a schedule of offers for the forthcoming months, perhaps posted by a TA.
    Anyone know anything?

Catching up on this post and see the refub is cancelled/postponed.  We are booked for February '21.  We got an amazing deal on a Sky Suite , planning on use of the  Retreat Sundeck on the 4 days at sea during the cruise.  If I read a lot of the comments correctly, Celebrity won't allow us to cancel based on this not being the ship we booked?  We have a "non refundable" deposit.  I don't we will find another ship for Feb '21 where we can get this same rate for a suite.

Also, I looked at this sailing earlier and it still shows "the Retreat".

Retreat is just the new name for suites. It appears on all sailings as far as I can tell, including mine on Infinity in July which isn’t due to be revolutionised by that time.
if you look in the small print it says not all retreat facilities on all ships.

Access to the ship may be limited by where you are docked. Starting this year the City of Venice is limiting docking to large cruise ships at the Venice Terminal. Many ships are being forced to dock at Fusina and Lombardia terminals on the mainland. Depending where your ship will dock overnight you should check in the first day and then go do sightseeing. We are leaving from Venice in September on a Viking Ocean cruise with 2 other couples and staying for 2 nights pre cruise in a hotel in Venice. Traveling to and from the cruise terminal is very expensive. We are booking a private water taxi for the 6 of us to go from the hotel to the Venice cruise terminal and it will cost us 181 Euros. The same water taxi from the airport to the hotel is 220 Euros.

Here is a link about the cruise ship issues in Venice:

I don’t think any of that is actually happening just yet so most people will still be able to use the people mover or the Aligaluna boats to get to the cruise terminal.

There is a dock in Kotor, and if you are lucky, you might get to use it.  Depends if there are other ships there, and who is the smallest (I think).  We docked there on Nieuw Amsterdam, tendered on Silhouette.  If you are on the cruise that calls there July 25, you are the only ship...  EM

Sadly we are there on the 15th along with Marella Celebration and Seven Seas Splendor. The Splendor is scheduled to dock 🙁.

David has given you some good information above.

I'm just popping in to recommend that you get up early and go on deck and watch sail-in. The Kotor fjord is stunningly beautiful. I am very grateful that we received and followed this advice. Watching the sun rise as we sailed in was an amazing experience.

I'm intending to do just that. Can you remember how long the sail in takes? I don’t want to get up too late.

    @Highpeaklad,

Here is a link to Infinity's newsletter when we tendered at Punta Arenas, Chile in Dec 2016.  You will find tendering instructions in there which will answer many of your questions including where and how to get tender tickets.

There is a priority system for tender access. Shore excursion passengers along with suite passengers and Captain's Club passengers of a certain level or higher have priority.

Once the tendering service is far enough along, they dispense with the tendering tickets altogether and you just go directly to the tendering line.

Depending on when you want to get back on the ship, there can be long lines ashore to get on a return tender.

That’s fantastic, that’s just what I needed to know.

    Thank you.

  14. Hi. Our July cruise on Infinity needs tendering at Kotor. I’ve only done tendering once before and that was 10 years go on the RCL private island so don’t remember much, I think we just went to disembark as normal and got on a boat. I’ve searched on here but nothing has come up so can someone explain the process for me?

Specifically I’ve seen mention of tender tickets. Where do we get these from and will I need my sea pass card?

Can I get tickets for my other half without him being there?

Can I get tickets for my family who are in a different cabin?

We will not be taking a Celebrity tour so I assume they will have priority, how long should we allow to disembark?

    Any information welcome,

    Chris

  15. Currently BA flights from ORD and to FCO are in Terminal 5.
Just make sure your flight from Chicago isn’t operated by AA but with a BA flight number as this will operate into T3.
Process is the same - follow connection signs to your relevant terminal, go through security then on to gates. If transferring T3-T5 then there is a bus transfer as well.

If transferring T5-T5 then look at the connecting flights screen when you get off the plane. If you arrive at satellite B or C and your flight is departing from the same then you can do security in the satellite. If it’s not listed then you have to take a shuttle to the main terminal.

just follow the signs and you’ll be fine.
