  1. I ended up emailing shoreexcursions@carnival.com listing the excursions cancelled on me and the totals. I said they could credit my next carnival cruise that is booked in June or send me the gift cards. About a week later they emailed back and a week after that they credited my next cruise. Thanks for all the help. My next step was to call shore excursions directly as suggested and the would have worked but I like email.

Call the excursion department. I had to do that when I didn't get my gift cards after a month. I got them within 2 weeks after calling.

Thanks! Great suggestion! I'll let you know how it goes.

This is not normal.  I will say that I cancelled my pre-paid grats (to use OBC) and then spoke with Carnival regarding something else about 10 days later.  She noticed that my refund hadn't been processed, so she pushed it through.  I received the gift card in about 5 days I cancelled an excursion a couple of weeks ago and received my new gift cards in 2 days.  They all came FedEx.

I will see the response to my email and then if not satisfied I will call Carnival about a cruise I have booked for next year and see if that person can help me with a prior cruise.

It does seem like a long time.....

You may have a similar problem to one I had a few years ago.  A cruise was canceled because my SO died, I moved, the former neighbor saw a Fed Ex delivery man at the old residence and told him I had moved.  After giving Carnival a few weeks to solve the issue on their own, I started calling.  It took months to straighten it out.  I believe Fed Ex probably tried to deliver it (signature required) while you were on the cruise.  I don’t have any other methods to tell you about (I just kept calling and asking for the date I should call them again if I hadn’t heard from them), but it might be helpful to suggest that delivery may have been attempted while you were gone.

Thank you for the suggestion. I dont think thats it since I have cameras all around my house, my sister was at my house when we were on the cruise, and I have a FEDEX account and get text messages anytime I have a fedex arriving for me. But I welcome any help!

  5. I've been searching the forums for more clarity on this. I had 2 excursions and FTTF cancelled between 9/2/2021 and 9/13/2021 and haven't received any gift cards (which is how I originally paid). I came back from the cruise on 10/9/2021 so it has been completed and still no gift card.

I called carnival and was transferred twice before I was disconnected. The last place I was transferred to was guestcare and they have a message listing their email so I have reached out that way since I didnt want to go thru transfer heII again. I mean I've waited this long.

Almost 2 months seems like a long time. Anyone successfully tried any other methods or is this normal?

  6. Funny to see this thread dug up - feels like a lifetime ago. We had a lot of fun. I don't think I ever changed out of shorts and was fine. We spent a lot of nights watching the game shows down below us in the atrium while we had chairs on the ledge looking down from O'Sheehans.

Plenty of people were dressed up though. I think however you want to dress is up to you. Some people looks forward to getting dressed up but I still do not (even though I havent worn a suit in 16 months at this point). I'd still bring a nice pair of pants and a polo shirt just in case at a minimum.

Regarding New Years itself I dont think there was anything special other then a bunch of balloons and a countdown. Ship was also decorated for christmas and it looked great.

  7. Last year I bought 1100 NCLH and 1100 CCL. When I had enough gains to offset 100 shares I sold 1000 shares of each so I view myself as owning the 100 shares "free & clear". As long as they will keep offering cruise credit for owning 100 shares I won't ever sell. I did not do this with RCL because 1100 shares of RCL was more of a gamble then I wanted to take at that moment in time but it also would have worked out brilliantly.

We just booked that cruise and date also! 🙂  I had originally booked Mardi Gras Thanksgiving 2020- cancelled- and then Mardi Gras- March 2021- cancelled again! At this point we decided to give up (for now) on the Mardi Gras and book this cruise. It was actually the same price as the Mardi Gras and we have never been to Norway...soooo excited!!!

Awesome! See you there. There is also a roll call for the June 10th, 2022 Norway cruise already posted if you'd like to join.

Too bad, we had # 8232 for the Legend 4 June Norway cruise. Great itinerary and half the cost of the other lines. Oh well we'll take our NRD back and try again somewhere down the line.

We had a aft cabin booked for the sameLegend June 4 cruise. I switched to the June 10, 2022 Carnival Pride thru Norway and booked the same aft cabin. The price is pretty good for that itinerary and I will have the $600 OBC also so not all bad.

I just booked a  9 day June 4, 2021 Cruise out of London thru Norway and the 20% off offer for Cheers was waiting for me. No cruise cash deal. hoping I get an email soon (unlikely).  Anyhow, always happy to save on drinks!!

I added the cruise cash to my cart and see the discount of 20%. Over 400 days away from my cruise but I love a deal...

  11. I was thinking about taking this cruise next year on the Star, but have been on that ship before (nothing wrong with the Star, just like to experience different ships). I was convinced I was going to do a MSC itinerary instead that only focused on Norway, but this looks so much better.

Anyhow, your review may swing me back to NCL. Thanks for sharing

  12. Just left Seaview yesterday. No status with MSC and did self disembarkation (where you keep your luggage and walk off the ship). Was at MIA by 8:30am. We had loads of slow downs and errors that were our own (we had booked a shuttle we couldn't find for almost 30 minutes, etc...). We didn't even start to walk off the ship until 7:30am and I believe disembarkation had been going on for over 30 minutes at that point.

If I were to do it again I would walk off between 7-8am and after exiting the terminal I would walk to the right past all the other passengers until it opens up (around Terminal G, pickup spot 6) and grab an UBER/LYFT. No congestion there at all.

  13. We were on the same cruise. We had a blast - no regrets.

If I was going to be nitpick I would say I personally thought service was pretty slow compared to our 2 other NCL cruises on the Star & Jewel. I figured it was the large size of the Breakaway. I also felt there were not many seats at any of the bars if you wanted to hang out and listen to the band, etc... Atrium was nearly impossible to find a seat so we spent many nights sitting up at O'Sheehans looking over the rail (which was fine with us). Never saw seats available in Shakers when someone was performing.

I felt bad for the bartenders because they were just slammed the whole time. I mean drink after drink with no break for them, time for small talk, etc... I bartended in college and I think it was the most demanding job I could imagine for a bartender. They were making drinks and taking the next drink orders simultaneously.

The size of the ship allowed for lots of great shows and activities though. Rock Of Ages was incredibly well done for a cruise ship. Embarkation/Disembarkation was a breeze.

Anyhow, just my opinion. I would sail the Breakaway again and out of NO again.
