Hi everybody

My husband passed away very unexpectedly in January so for this summer I decided to visit a friend in Paris and my son in Prague. My TA found the Viking Cities of Light cruise which looks like it will be be perfect for in between these two visits. My husband and I sailed on Princess on a Baltic cruise last summer and loved it but that's all of my cruising experience. My parents though have been on numerous river cruises through Tauck and love it. Anyway I'm having fun exploring these boards and learning as much as I can before I go (I'm a teacher so have to travel in the summer). I'm a little worried about fitting in by myself but I'm up for new experiences. Thank you!

We did both the two day tour and the evening at Catherine Palace. It was a little tight we had just enough time to go back to the ship and change before the evening tour. We ended up eating in the buffet at about 10:30 that night when we returned. It was worth it to us to be able to see so much. We did all excursions through Princess.

We took it and really enjoyed the tour. The palace was closed to the public at the time so just the groups from our ship were there. The area around the palace was beautiful too.

We walked from the ship to Old Town and followed Rick Steves' walking tour. The town did become very crowded with walking tours from a few ships docked there that day. We then took a taxi to the Maritime Museum and then taxied back to our ship.

Thank you everyone this is all very helpful. We sail on the Regal in a balcony cabin in 13 days. Last vacation my husband forgot his CPAP and I didn't sleep :(. How long of an extension cord would we need to bring?
