  1. Hi all going on our 2nd cruise not until January 28th doing a 3 night stay in Miami when we booked up and asked about transfers we where told it would be cheaper getting our own so just looking to see if anyone has been to Miami south beach and know how much the taxi would be about and there from the hotel to the docks any advise would be good thanks

  2. Jimphil

    Thanks for the info

What kind of music do they play ???

This is nothing about the band I just called up about the island we are going to due to the weather damage as my friend is just back 2 days ago and all hers was changed and I was told the 1 we are going on is still being reviewed and we will be told in due course to where we are visiting

  3. 17th Jan - middle aged mostly as it's not school holidays but they like to have fun

Taxis are lined up at the ports. In St Maarten just get a taxi to Airport Beach from the port Taxis in the Caribbean take you wherever and bring you back to the port in the price quoted Don't worry they will come back for you most don't take any money until the return journey Taxis will also give you island tours and take you to a good beach

That's the same day am going as well am 34 my partner Is 40 we are going for his 40th thanks for all ur advice

  4. :)

Have you booked a cabin? Would recommend one midships if it's your first cruise and certainly wouldn't want to be given a cabin at the front of the ship A cabin central both vertically and horizontally would be ideal All inclusive drinks can be got 10am til 2am and water coffee and tea is available in the lido buffet from early morning til late night There are tea and coffee making facilities in your cabin and you can buy bottled water

The entertainment is fantastic so you'll never be bored Captains night will be held on the sea day when you will be told whether you are on first or second sitting in the main dining room This is when men dress in suits, dinner jackets or nice trousers and jackets and must wear a tie Ladies in event no long dresses or cocktail wear You don't have to attend but if it's your first cruise I would but if not you can eat in the buffet in casual wear

The ports of call - there are beaches which can be reached easily by taxi (not advisable in Dominican Republic) or look at the excursions on Thomson cruise website - you'll need your booking ref no.

Ok thanks what date are you going again when people are saying book taxis where do we book them also in st Maarten can you go to the beach that the plane flys over? Don't think we are going to do the captins night not really in to formal dress lol what age group are mostly on

  5. No cruise line offers true all inclusive with the exception of maybe some luxury lines. Which cruise line are you on and what does 'all inclusive' include. You'll always get meals in the buffet and dining room as well as a few non-alcoholic beverage choices included in your cruise fare. I am assuming your all inclusive package includes an alcohol package.

Most cruise lines charge a daily gratuity - that may or may not be included for you

Almost certainly shore excursions will not be included. You can spend as much or as little as you want - very port dependent. You can stay on the ship for free; take a taxi to a beach on the cheap; or spend $100+ pp per port on a full day tour.

There are usually specialty dining options offered at an upcharge - probably not included

So at a minimum - $13 pp pd approx as your gratuity of its not included + $20-$40 per port. At a max - you can easily spend thousands.
