  1. We are just off the Caribbean Princess-sailed with a 6 and a 3.5 year old who have similar eating habits. I brought several of the just add hot water kraft mac and cheese- used them only on the airplane ride home.

My 6 year old was a little better about trying new things.

My particular 3.5 struggled-but didn't starve. I found taking her into the buffet, or reading the menu and letting her pick worked best. She ate plain spaghetti noodles, fruit, all week for dinner. Pizza for lunch, and fruit loops for breakfast.

I saw mac and cheese in the buffet once.

  2. HI!

Yay! Leave sunday for our first family cruise on Princess! My kids are 3 and 6. THere are over 600 kids on the sailing. What has been your expierence with overcrowding in the kids club-namely Princess Pelicans?

Has any one ever been turned away? I know there are limits...

but what should I expect? Crowds? Lines? Next to impossible to get in?

  3. We have an upcoming cruise in November on Princess. I had done some research and thought that Tabyana beach break through Princess was the best bet for my family of four. We are traveling with our 2 kids-6 and 3.

I know taxis are an option, and cheaper but I really don't like that option with the family.

My question- does any one have info as to why this isn't an option with Princess anymore?

I feel like Princess is forcing Mahogany bay on us, as there aren't any other beach options (the others have age limits)

    Tips? Suggestions?

  4. We used this on our last cruise...waaaay back in 2008. We cruised out of seattle. On returning we thought what the heck..lets try it? The fee seemed reasonable. Upon landing at LAX our luggage was no where to be found. It never left the cruise terminal. IT was totally stressful trying to find it, find out who was responsible etc.

But, my story has a happy ending. Our luggage was hand delivered to our door a day or so later. '

Even through all of this, I would not hesitate using this service again. I think our experience was a fluke, and princess was totally helpful in dealing with this.

In fact, our next cruise is next thanksgiving (with kids) and we will probably take advantage of this service.

  5. Am I the only one who got that the op wasn't talking about

out removing tips? Yes. Frustrating. But. Reality.

Please don't feel thAt your cabin is the only toddler friendly place. Vacations with kids are different but fun. What ship will you be on?

    Happy cruising.

  6. We have a family suite for our family of four booked for 2015. Yes, it is more expensive but not that much more. We have 2 smalls kids (3,6,) and the price difference between that a mini was totally worth it to know that everyone will have their sleeping space. Our reasons also included the suite perks...we are aware that our small kids might not enjoy the dining experience and the ability to order from the full menu was appealing to us.

  7. We had princess transfers a few years ago on the pacific. Allowed us to stay on board until the transfers left. We packed a small carryon to keep with us during the day- change of clothes, toothbrushes etc. our luggage was left out side the room the night before- as usual. My memory is foggy but I'm pretty sure we didn't see our luggage until we boarded the transfer. We ended up taking a tour around the island. We ate several times in the buffet that day and showered and changed in the spa/gym facilities. I do not remember it being crowded. We did spend time on the ship by the pool we were easily able to find loungers.

  8. Just looking for some insight from all you veterans. Some friends and I are planning a girls cruise, one of the girls is breastfeeding. She doesn't want to pump and dump 4 days worth of milk so we were wondering if there was anyway to save it on the ship. Anyone have any idea if they would freeze it for her? Any ideas?

Me again...missed the part about pump and dump...no reason! 4 days is plenty. It will not go bad. I have been pumping/breastfeeding for over a year with plenty of experience in milk over 4 days. Just make sure she labels it with the date, and use the oldest milk first when she gets home! have fun!

  9. Breastmilk will last longer than 4 days (it needs to be used, frozen or tossed out after 7) There are fridge's in the cabins, she can store it there. Just make sure the fridge is as cold as it can be, make sure she brings lots of bags, bottles etc. for storage. She will be able to fly (if this is the case) no problem with the breastmilk.
