  1. Agree with the others. We did the "best of Bonaire" excursion two weeks ago and it was one of the best tours I've done through Celebrity in the Caribbean. If you plan to do golf carts, make sure you contact them ASAP as they are limited and sell out quickly. As the others have said, if you are into diving or snorkeling, this is the place. My wife did a dive and was in heaven. It's very easy to find places to dive locally. I loved the island and will definitely go back. Plenty of shops and restaurants off the pier, although not nearly the same as Aruba or Curacao. Enjoy!

  2. I am in Bonaire in a few weeks. My wife is doing a diving excursion so I was planning to do a few things on my own. I have no problem seeing things with a golf cart by myself but wondering if it's worth it and also safe to do so. Seems as it would be but would like to get some opinions. Thanks!

  3. Do you think I can fit a 2 quart pitcher in the fridge? Wonder how tall the interior of the fridge is......

It’s a standard hotel type fridge. I can fit two of the big Evian bottles deep so it’s possible.

  4. Thanks for all the input!

We do have a drink package that came with the booking in the S1 aft corner suite. Wonder if we could just have them empty the fridge and have them stock it with iced coffee? We drink lots. We will be bringing our insulated cups to carry around.

Just need my iced coffee at 5:00 AM or I could be really messy just trying to think!

I also enjoy iced coffee and prefer it to hot. Cafe al Bacio will make it for you as others suggest. I was on Equinox in February and went there daily and it was included in the drink package. While the iced coffee was good, I prefer iced Americanos. They will make those for you as well. We were in Aqua and they included a pitcher of iced tea each day. Perhaps you can as your steward if they could do iced coffee for you?

  5. Yes. We were just there in early February. Maho isn’t what it used to be after the hurricane but there is still Beach to sit on. Agree with Ashland about the sunset bar. It’s the best place. Although the airport is operational, it’s not like it used to be. Significantly less jet traffic and no more 747 arrivals/departures. You’ll still get a good mix of private planes and turboprops

  6. We recently took the rum tasting and island history tour and loved it. My wife and I don't drink a lot of rum but were willing to try something different. The tour a about 3 hours and took us around Basseterre and then through the outskirts of town to Fairview Great House and Botanical Gardens. They lead you through most of the house and tell you about the history of it and then do a rum tasting at the end which was fabulous. Our guide was excellent and we had a great time. I highly recommend it.

  7. Sounds pretty cool, I’m interested to hear more about this too!

In looking at it, they had a nice selection of johnnie Walker and others but they always seemed closed. Hopefully someone can weight in

  8. In November I recall it being open a few nights, but maybe only for a few hours. I can't remember if the events were an extra fee.

I'm not a big whiskey guy so I wasn't that interested

Thanks. I’ve heard others say they’ve seen tastings there but I didn’t see anything on my recent cruise.

  9. All,

I was on Equinox a few weeks ago but the whisky house at the lawn club never seemed to be open. I checked the Dailies but didn’t see anything. I’m back on the Equinox in October and would like to check it out. Anyone have experience with it? Thanks

  10. As previously posted try other ships that are of the S Class. They will be similar but do have a few differences with different decor themes.

Our first cruise on Celebrity was on the Solstice in AQ. We enjoyed everything about it and didn’t know that there was a big difference between the S Class and M Class. We convinced good friends to sail with on on our next cruise because of how fabulous the ship was with the modern bath, shower panel, footstools, Persian Gardens, Blu, Molecular Bar (at that time, now World Class Bar), and etc. We went on the Summit to Bermuda. What a let down as the ship was completely different and no where close to what we told them. We felt uncomfortable about it and they never said anything but I know they didn’t enjoy themselves as much as they would have had it been as we described. They have since taken other cruises but not on Celebrity or with us and after that we also learned not to sail with other close friends or relatives.

I am writing this so you don’t book a M class expecting it to be the same as the S Class.

    Happy cruising [emoji305][emoji568][emoji631][emoji560]

    Excellent advice. Thank you!

And I agree with the others. I prefer to book based on the ship in the Caribbean since most places are similar unlike, say Europe. I appreciate the advice about entertainment as well.

  11. My wife and I were just on the Equinox and loved it. It was our first on X. We loved the look and the layout of the ship and enjoyed dining in Blu. It had been a while since we cruised and forgot how much we enjoy it. As such, it’s obviously time to book another! We considered doing a short cruise on Royal or on the Infinity but thought we’d be disappointed. So, the question is, if we go back to the Caribbean (which we likely will), should we go back on the Equinox or do you all have another favorite S class ship? We’ve never repeated a ship but since we enjoyed it, we’d consider it again. Thanks!

  12. I second the jetty near the Navy property. I have been there several times and it is an excellent spot. I also recommend checking out a site like cruisetimetables.com or vesseltracker.com to see which ships are departing that day. You should be able to find out who's departing. Looks like for today, it's Harmony of the Seas and Carnival Conquest. Happy cruising!

  13. Kevin,

Love your reviews. I hope all is well. I live in the Tampa area, but I spent some time down in FLL. The 17th Street bridge is great, as you know. Next time you're there, check out the Dr. Von Johnson State Park. If you pay the few dollars to get in, you can drive to the far end and can access the pier. This is the pier across from the apartments/condos as the ships exit port. I, too love taking shots of the ships and this is an amazing angle. I can give you more information sometime if interested. Thanks for your reviews!

  14. Great! Both my wife and I "identify" with an older crowd. We enjoy wine and liquor tastings, seeing new ports, etc. we've never been much for loud parties and the like. Although she enjoys rock climbing, a break from the real world where we can relax is more important. I think Equinox is a winner. Just wanted to be sure! The question is: Aqua or Concierge class?

  15. The Equinox is my choice. More upscale and depending on "perks" sale it's a good bang for the buck. That said FOS probably be cheaper, but not better[emoji12][emoji12]

That's what I was thinking too. I was worried I'd be bored at an AI resort but found it to be nice without the glitz and glam. I think the Equinox will be a similar experience!

  16. All,

My wife and I are looking for a cruise in January or February. We have narrowed it down to the Freedom or the Equinox. We are in our 30s and enjoy a relaxing vacation. We've taken a break from cruising for the past few years and have been doing AIs in Mexico but we'd like to get back on the Seas!

We like the relaxing and upscale atmosphere of Celebrity, but the entertainment on Freedom seems more lively. We aren't "partiers" but enjoy live music, comedy shows, and the like.

Anyone who's done both and can help would be appreciated. Out last cruise was on Carnival so we're looking for something a little different. Thanks!
