What do I expect? Someone told me that it is too windy and chilly to do anything. Leaving from NOLA or Mobile on 5 day cruise.

Do you get to interact with the families at all? Is it an all day excursion?

Do ya'll bring notarized letters from the other parent when you take your kids cruising? Are they real strict with this when only one parent is present?

I'm cruising with my kids in a month or so and planning to just use birth certificates this time. If we like cruising we will go and get passports. Anyone else use this form of identification when cruising?

I can't seem to find an URL? And when I click on the email it alerts me to a possible phishing website. Anyone know what's up?

I think you'll do quite we with the ages of your kids. At that age I wouldn't even blink twice. My biggest challenge had been that my then 4 year old didn't want to part with me. He's 11 now and quite content to venture out on his own.
I remember that age. Mine would have been the opposite and running amuck amongst the ship! [emoji31] both doesn't seem like much fun!

I took my sons when they were 7 and 4. At the time my younger son didn't want to stay in the Kid's club, but he was very attached to me and having issues at being abandoned. Otherwise we had a really great time. I didn't do the "my time" dining that many cruise lines offered and was instead seated with another family for the duration of the cruise. They were extremely nice and helped with some of the loneliness that can set in when you're traveling solo. I'm perhaps not the best solo traveler because I'm very much an extrovert. My kids were young enough that it meant early to bed each night and not taking advantage of much of the night life. If I were still single now that they're 15 and 11 I wouldn't have the same reservations.
Overall I had a great time and do not regret any of it. The staff on the ship really seemed to cater to the boys and would even help me wrangle them at the buffet where I truly didn't have enough hands to manage it all.
I found the vacationing families more outgoing at an all inclusive I did the following year. Not sure why, but it seemed that the families on that particular cruise sort of all stayed with each other and didn't socialize as much. Maybe it was just the age of my boys at the time.
Thanks! I'm an extrovert too! But I love an early bed time... must be the parent in me. I cherish those early mornings when I'm the only one awake. I'm hoping I can sneak off to the upper decks in the morning to get some quiet time!
I'm hoping that I get such an accommodating crew too!

My kids are 10, 12 and 14. I do want to have some alone time but also some social... lol.
It seems single parenting is definitely doable on a cruise and perhaps easier than on other vacations. Which we have done.

Looking for tips on cruising as a single parent. Taking my kids on our first cruise and I'm not sure if I want to go it alone or bring another adult.

This makes me feel better! I'm gonna have to book within a week of the last week in July cruises and wasn't seeing stuff online.
Can you still go through a TA or should I book direct call?

Ok! Thanks! I watched someone's video YouTube of the triumph and they were saying the triumph wasn't made for kids.

Just how close to a leave date can you schedule to go on a cruise? I know it's a chance that it's sold out... and have you done it?

"Kendras self-portrait just because that's how she is."
This could be an ad for sunglasses -- she has beautiful eyes. I love how her makeup is perfect even after tubing and hiking and putting up with a fussy little one!
I agree!!! Beautiful girl!

Any reviews from people traveling with kids?
Is it a kid friendly ship?

I liked the Fantasy so there might be some pluses that are being missed on the old girl. Despite the urge to go on the latest and greatest I think a trip on the older ships can certainly be a worthwhile experience.
First, she doesn't have the American Table Menu. She has the older menu that some cruisers prefer. (this may have changed with the upgrade tho)
Second, the Fantasy Class Atriums are very impressive.
Third, the Fantasy might feel a little less crowded then the larger Dream.
Fourth, the Serenity area doesn't get as busy as the Dream since alot of ppl don't know to check at the back of the theater.
Fifth, I really like the Brits show on the Fantasy.
Sixth, The themes on the Fantasy are really cool, They have Great Britain, Egypt and Roman Times represented. There is even a club showing what household items look like to cats.
Seventh, Those chairs on the promenade are very comfortable.
Eighth, Fantasy now has a Guy's. Sure the line for it will be shorter than Dreams.
Ninth, It seemed easier to get a comedy club seat on the fantasy, and some of the best comedians I saw were on the Fantasy.
Tenth, the drill takes place in the lounges.
All very good points! Thank you! I do not like crowds. I want to relax as much as I can.

Western Carribbean. Progressive and Cozumel. But will it be chilly and windy on the ship on the way to the island?
