You're making this too easy. :')
YOU posting something that was incorrect. You were then corrected.
YOU saw a post and responded to it.
How are YOU being harassed?....by being corrected?
Listen go onto NCL.com, do a mock booking for a cruise and then hold your mouse over the colored portion of the stateroom choices for Haven - it says "GET ALL FIVE" and lists everything that I listed. So yes, you do get all 5. I never see you help anyone just correct and make posts mocking people. I'm sorry you have nothing better to do with your time. I am genuinely trying to help the OP - you on the other hand seem like you have A LOT of time on your hands.
-
Why must people have no life and harass people on a cruise website for fun? Hmmm...wonders of the world.
-
You get everything "Haven"
You get to keep the same promos that you had with the balcony, you don't get the other promos.
You get a higher DSC.
You get to tip your butler and concierge.
You get spoiled.
WAIT I see your response was much more detailed and helpful to the OP.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

No longer the case. With a direct Haven booking, you get to choose all of the promos. It isn't automatically all.
Haven guests can choose all, some, or none of the promos. It used to be that all were included and there was no extra charge. Now, suite guests pay the 18% on the promos that charge them (SDP/UBP). Haven guests can choose to avoid paying the service charges by not taking those promos.
Why must everyone on this board pick a part every little thing that everyone types?? Yes you GET them all - you are entitled to them and if you so choose them then that is what you get. Yes you do have the option to choose but as of now you also have the option of having all of them. I didn't mention anything about not having service charges or not paying the 18% as a perk.
-
Currently if you book the Haven directly you get all Free at Seas promotions. For example: I am sailing on 10/1 Aft Haven Penthouse with this booking I received: 2 UBP, 3 meal specialty dining x 2, $300 OBC, $50 excursion credit for each port and Internet Package ($250 minutes). It is only me and my significant other but with booking the haven outright you are able to add extra statement guests for free. Last year I booked a balcony and called for an upgrade to H5 - courtyard penthouse. We did not receive all of the above that one would receive if they booked straight with the haven and were only able to keep the perk we chose when we booked our balcony, which was the UBP x 2.
That's the only difference as far as free at sea promos are concerned. Once in the Haven you are entitled to all the perks of the haven suites, i.e. butler, concierge, restaurant, lounge, courtyard, priority embarkation, priority debarkation, etc.

The Sky just went this weekend. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be open during your sailing. However, if the seas are rough they are not able to bring the tenders over.

We would only smoke it in the cigar lounge, which is designated for this purpose.
If he would like to enjoy fresh air he can also smoke on the designated smoking areas outdoor. Enjoy your vacation and his cigars! ;)
-
Best not to smoke while on board the ship. Especially cigars.
Yeah...except they specifically have cigar lounges for people to smoke their cigars.
-
On Costa they are allowed to smoke in cabins> I would think this is a fire hazard in such confined quarters. My hubby smokes BUT not inside and we wouldn't want a cabin that people have smoked in, you can't get the smell out and it makes me stuffy.
Well I hate to break it to you but Norwegian used to allow smoking in cabins. I was on the gem in 2010 inside cabin and allowed to smoke in my room. So yes, you have probably stayed in a room people have smoked in.

I have never had a desire to take a cruise to Alaska prior to your review. Now I can't wait to book one! Great review. I love all the details and photos (especially of the food). Thank you for taking the time to do your review!

Yea, I never trust where that money goes. (reword - I wonder where it goes). Carrying a few hundred extra bucks is no big deal.
WAIT - it is a big deal. It easily can become another donation to the casino - LOL!
Oh well... gonna go get some more popcorn and feed it the horse.
Yes I don't trust myself with cash in the casino. I will ask the butler what he prefers and what happens with the money. Thank you.
-
Yes, go to the service desk & they'll take care of that for you.
We didn't tip the Concierge. We saw her for 2 minutes at embarkation, listened to her instruction regarding disembark & saw her again for about 2 minutes the morning we left the ship. We asked for nothing from her & saw no reason to tip her.
The DSC was prepaid. We gave our butler $250 & cabin steward $100. They both were wonderful & took such great care of us. We had a full breakfast served every morning & that alone was worth the tip for the butler!
I can't wait to cruise in a suite again. We enjoyed the benefits tremendously...........
Thank you!

Not to hijack the thread but I don't want to start another one on tipping and get yelled at by the NCL police.
Does anyone know if it's possible to add the tip for butler, concierge and steward into my onboard account? I want to limit the amount of cash I take with me.
-
Consider yourself fortunate.
Do you even have an iphone? Have you ever tried this technique? If not, why are you in here harassing everybody? You are always all over everybody and generally unpleasant. What is your deal?
-
I called and the rep I got online said she could not find it for my cruise.
I found this in another thread. Try emailing the group event coordinator "GroupEventMYSHIPNAME@ncl.com". Obviously change "MYSHIPNAME" to the name of your ship (breakaway, escape, etc.) Put your reservation number as the subject line and see if they can either get you the bar set up or direct you to someone who can help.
-
I received this updated price list on August 23, 2017 via preconcierge. I would imagine you could call NCL if not in a suite and order the same. Notice the 18% is already included in the price.
Please see the bar set-up pricing below. If you don’t see your preferred liquor on the list, let me know and I will inquire with the ship.

I messaged them on facebook regarding a day pass and this is there response to me:
We do not offer day passes at this time. However, all guests can visit our shops, restaurants, casino, tennis courts, and golf course.

Bidding starts after final payment
..so how did you do this without incurring a large fee? I have been calling almost daily (pre-hurricane) to try this and they keep telling me I will be penalized for canceling the one reservation, 25%, and booking a new one. And I am like, can't you just move my existing reservation and charge me the difference? No....
I'm sailing on 10/1. I originally booked a Haven Spa cabin, we paid in full. Around 2 weeks later I decided I wanted a Haven Aft Penthouse. I just called the 800 number and paid the difference in the cabins and was able to "upgrade" myself with no cancellation fee. Try calling the 800 number and asking to change to the category you want. Keep calling until someone does it with no cancellation fee. I always get told 20 different things by 20 different people when calling NCL.

We are sailing out of NY on 10/1 up front (H7) perhaps we will meet up. I would like to say 'one last question' but I doubt it. Is there priority boarding in NY (if you know) and how to we go about finding it?
Yes to the right is Haven security. All the way in the back of the terminal on the right hand side is the Haven check in area with snacks and coffee/tea. If you can't find the priority security or check in just ask where to go for Haven guests they will guide you to where you need to be.
-
Thanks, that's helpful. So although we have access to the Haven lounge and restaurant we will be charged for partaking I guess. We are excited for the upgrade and relaxation is our objective, hoping for a smooth sail and a warm sun.
You will not be charged fornthe haven restaurant. You will only be charged if you order a drink and do not have ubp. We are sailing on 10/1 too aft penthouse. We just did it outright. Too scared to lose the bid lol. Be careful there's no going back now.

We are heading out Oct 1 on the Breakaway and also bid on H7 (I went to $720). Received confirmation yesterday that we were awarded the bid. Seeing as you experienced this do you mind a few questions?
If you don't mind:
-How is the ride in that area should I pack extra dramamine?
-Is it far from the Haven courtyard?
-How did you handle the tipping of the Butler, Concierge, Steward? ie: Cash at the end of the cruise, or as service provided. Is there an option to use your onboard account to deliver the tip(s)?
-We originally had the 3 specialty restaurant dining package is that mute now; are they all included with the Haven?
-We booked restaurants and entertainment ahead, if you did the same was the concierge able to provide better seating or improve dining times?
-We are not big consumers of alcohol--I have never had any at all..just a personal choice; and my wife enjoys a very occasional drink--that aside are all drinks now included?
-Seeing as we are an upsell--as were you-- did it seem like you were a second class citizen or was it pretty transparent?
Needless to say this is our first time in a venue such as this, and honestly I feel awkward with the service and attention. How was you experiance with the whole upgrade?
Please add any other information or advice that you think appropriate.
...As an aside to all reading this, I wasn't mindful when placing the bid that the increased fare also adds more to taxes and fees as well as the expense of the extra gratuities, not a problem but keep it in mind.
Hey, congrats on our upgrade! You will love it. I am not the person you asked, but we did an upgrade last year on the Breakaway from a Balcony to H5. The haven is forward with rooms on 15 and 16 as well as a sun deck on 17. Depending on what floor your H7 is will determine how far you are from the haven. We tipped the butler, concierge and steward in cash. As far as the perks - you keep what you originally picked when you booked your original room. Nothing is taken away and nothing is added. Also, we did not feel like a second class citizen because of the upgrade and didn't notice anyone else being treated different either.

I'm new to cruise critic, but have lurked on these boards for awhile. Op thank you for your review. I also agree that there are certainly really nasty people on the ncl board. Lighten up, it's never that serious.
-
did you mean to say Spa Suite with Haven privileges? because i don't think there is a Haven Spa Balcony and if there is i may be missing out ;p
Yes there is a Haven Spa Suite with balcony.

I'm sailing the first week of October 2017. I message NCL on facebook and was told that all dates are tenative and subject to change. I doubt it will be open. This is the last thing I can find from June 2017 https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2017/06/20/inside-norwegian-cruise-lines-revamped-great-stirrup-cay/102811756/
Can you order multiple Ocean Blue apps with the SDP - THE DEFINITIVE THREAD
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
Hey I'm on the breakaway now and yes we were able to order multiple apps at ocean blue. To be honest the food wasn't that great and took forever. The waiter said the whole ocean blue kitchen staff is new so it's a learning curve.
