  1. I just got off the Breeze 2 weeks ago, and I ordered room service coffee every morning to enjoy on the balcony. I could never finish the first cup, even with the half and half they brought. My coffee is usually a caramel color but I was making it almost white because the coffee was so bad. Lido coffee was a bit better but not much.

I didn't bring my coffee mate individual creamer because people on here said the coffee was fine with their half and half. Lies. I will be bringing my own creamer next cruise.

  2. My boyfriend is going on his first cruise with me in 2 weeks. He keeps saying that he's gonna get bored and wants the internet package. I refuse because 1) it's highway robbery and 2) I want his nose out of the laptop. I'm hoping he can find something. This will be my first 7 day and I get bored easily as well - but I'm being optimistic about it. Trying to "unplug" for vacation.

I did learn from this thread to bring card games and such so, thank you.

  3. Room service creamer is a tiny pitcher of half and half. If you like fake creamer like coffeemate, you better bring your own to use in your cabin. The room service sugar container for coffee has about 3 packs each of white sugar, brown sugar, blue sweetener, and yellow sweetener (if memory serves me correctly-maybe a pink too). Room service coffee is hit or miss. Sometimes its fresh and sometimes it could stand up by itself. It's never premium.

Ok, thanks. Wasn't sure if it was milk or powdered non-dairy. I can't do milk but half and half works. That means more room in my suitcase. 😉

  4. It wouldn't take up much space if it was stored in the closet and the guest that would like to use it, uses it.

I would love the single serve kind. My boyfriend and I drink different brews of coffee (he likes his SUPER strong; me light brewed).

On the subject of coffee - when you do order the room service carafe, what kind of creamer do they bring you, if any? I don't like milk in mine so this will determine if I bring my own coffeemate and sugar packets or not. I already have a setup for when we travel and rent AirBnB's. Thanks.

  5. Got to wonder if this is just for gathering phone numbers so they can spam you.

I entering my number, it was not on the list,

Then entered it again and it was on the list.

Seems random. If it said everyone was on the list then one would think it was fake news.

    Strange

I entered in mine, nothing. But, I *know* I've gotten those phone calls. It's gotten to the point where unless your number is saved in my phone - no answer.

  6. That is the RECOMMENDATION, not a requirement.

Since you are first time cruisers, don't forget that your gratuities will be charged to your S&S (unless you pre-paid them). That is $12.95 per day per person. Think about how much you might spend in the casino, bingo, shopping on board, specialty dining, spa services, arcade and add all of that amount to your account. Honestly, I always use cash/gift cards and over-fund my account. It's easy to get the excess funds back on the last night.

Although they use the term "recommended", I was not allowed to put less than $100 on mine in 2010 (3 day cruise). They say it's the "minimum recommendation", if it's a recommendation why say minimum? I was just stating my experience and that they're wording is confusing.

  7. Care to elaborate? I tend not to click on suspicious links. I am not a natural born Cuban citizen so this does not involve me.

Next time a brief info would be helpful if you want someone to click on a link. No I did not click on it, but did a search and found it on the cruise lawyer's page.

I'm honestly not sure what being or not being a Cuban citizen has to do with this.

This link is a safe link to see if you're owed any monetary compensation for receiving a marketing phone call for a "free" cruise.

  8. I am traveling on a seven day carnival cruise with my family of 4. My husband and I plus our two teenage boys. I purchased the cheers and soda package. I purchased our excursion already. How much should I put on the sail and sign card. I know they recommend 200 a person but since I purchased our drinks/excursion already I was wondering if 600 would be good.

The requirement on a 7 day is $200 per S&S card. Then you can add cash as you see fit at a kiosk.

  9. As a former smoker and current vaper, it's a conundrum. I smoked for 22 years and now I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. But, as a person who Vapes, I'm lumped in with the smokers and MUST endure that god awful smell to enjoy mine. They should make one of the decks for people who vape.

  10. For the Premier League it is only the game that is broadcast on NBC at 12:30/11:30 on the Saturday. CNN International in the room will have the occasional highlight when they do their sports recap.

Yeah. I didn't have high hopes that anywhere would even be open at 6:30am to watch. And the internet on the ship (even the highest level) probably wouldn't be sufficient enough for me to live stream the game. Ugh. Oh well - I'll just have to watch for highlights and watch the game when I get home.

Just saw that it's Man United and Stoke for the 11:30 match that Saturday. I'll go root for Stoke that morning! :)

    Thanks for answering!!

  11. I know people have asked about football games and such. That is of no interest to me. What I'm wanting to know - do they/will they show any Premier League soccer on board? I will be gone during a match and would love to watch it live at sea. It's on really early on a Saturday (6:30am CST), so I'm not hopeful.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. We thought about it but spending almost $700 on it seems extensive. I'd probably opt for it on a short cruise, but a 7 day - pass. We will probably drink a lot on embarkation day and the last 2 sea days (and a lot more in port off the ship) but not enough to warrant $700.

Now, I'll be upset if our bill is close to that, though. Haha.

  13. I'm not good at saving. AT ALL. For my birthday, I asked for cruise cash. I also ordered a GC with points that I bought cruise cash with. I would occasionally buy cruise cash as a method of saving up for onboard expenses. I'm pretty sure that I won't forfeit any of it. If I'm not coming close to my balance, SPENDING SPREE!! 😉

  14. I was actually unaware that downloading from Netflix was possible, this was a useful thread!

I also like to pre-download podcasts and audiobooks for the drive to and from the cruise port. It's less important now that I have an unlimited data plan, but you never know when you're going to run into a zone where you don't have service.

I've been using Netflix for 18 years and I had NO idea you could download content, either. I'm gonna find some stuff I've been putting off watching and download it. I have a feeling I won't like much of Carnival TV so I'll have this to fall asleep to. YAY!
