I am new to Celebrity. We are on Infinity in the Mediterranean and have a balcony cabin booked. I will admit that I didn't do much research beforehand as I was primarily interested in itinerary (I am getting married in Santorini on this cruise) and I was a bit surprised at the amount of amenities/areas that I cannot partake in. I can't help but notice that the vast majority of posters on here do not book the general population cabins. Will it feel like half of the ship is off limits to me?

I wouldn't even worry about these thoughts…as others have said, like other lines as well, you will have almost full access to the entire ship, phenomenal dining, world class service and a phenomenal time to celebrate your special day!

  2. The biggest word in comps—Vegas, cruise, etc. = Theoretical

All of my front end and back end offers/comps and future offers whether Vegas, cruises, etc are based on this. Generally across the board these offers are always in line with what i expect. Higher or lower always based off established relationships where they have very good history of your play.

Would you mind sharing again the site you used to convert your casino offer (free cruise) over to Celebrity?  I think you mentioned it in your live review but can’t find.

I have been using URcomped for years utilizing my offers and play from multiple cruise lines. I like the flexibility where my play translates between multiple cruise lines.

I also have 3 x upcoming trips booked with them, all on Celebrity as far out as 2024 to Europe and based on my play qualify for Aqua Class and Always Included and paying only port fees/taxes.

    Cheers,

    Mike

  4. Greetings all-

    Cruise Date: 19 June 22-Joy

Applied for Wife and I: 21 MAY (I was assuming I was on the weird language that stated I needed to still upload test 2 days prior before the new policy change; called to confirm this. I was told that i do not need to do this any longer in accordance with the new language set forth and to bring my results to the pier with the approved travel authorization.

Called Bermuda 800 number on 8 June

Advised sailing date of 19 June would be priority screened between 8-12 June and If I had no reponse by the 12th to call back the 13th to the 800 line to manually push approval.

Hope this helps in any way possible.

Just saw that the most recent Daily Planner included the Silent Disco.  Didn't think that this would go off any more.  So excited that it is returning and hopeful that it will also be part of our cruise out of St. Maarten for July 17th.  It is one of our favorite activities...just gives us another reason to be excited!!

silent disco has been a blast. Loaded floor in the martini bar!  You will enjoy it and the DJs

Thanks for all your posts. I’ll be on the 7/10 sailing so I’m really excited to read about your experience. Question: can you comment on the casino experience if you have been there? Is it crowded and if so, does it vary with the time of day or evening? Do you know if the slots are paying about the same as pre-pandemic? I know that might be a silly question, but my husband and I live pretty close to several casinos and we have always enjoyed the slots but have found that the slots seemed to have really tightened up since the pandemic. Maybe its my imagination. I don’t expect to win but I view playing the slots as entertainment and would like to play for a while before tapping out. Thanks!

Casino was as busy as normal. Quite a few comped casino players. Plenty of hand pays on the floor and great drink service.

no complaints from the casino floor

  7. Live aboard the Edge too, if you told me this was the first US cruise post COVID you would have us fooled.

Normalcy is a good way to describe it, it is as close to perfect as you can get.

Service has been impeccable and you can tell the staff has been preparing very hard to get this cruise right.

i cant speak for everyones risk levels are regarding health or what is an acceptable restart error level is for you personally, but from one couple……

in my opinion, we are back and i would not hesitate to book if you are ready—enjoy these early levels of low occupancy on board-that we will all miss!

Kudos to the Edge team and our fellow cruise thread leader for the updates!

What did they do with people who were early to their assigned boarding time? Just stand aside?

They made you return at the time you were supposed to. Some droppes luggae and took cabs.

check in from arrival to on ship was less than 10 min for us—flawless execution

It barely needs to be said, but there are a lot of eyes that are going to be on this cruise - some of whom aren't as kind to cruising interests as we are.  Perceived screwups will be noted and may be punished severely.

That said, I wish everyone involved well.

Warm weather, on the water, drink in hand—some troll will complain that the beer is one degree warmer than it should be 😛

  10. I do want to add one thing-some people had to cancel and couldn’t wait to have the cruise lines be proactive—cancelling flights, health conditions of family members, careers where they can’t risk being stuck on a boat etc.  In our situation, we waited as long as we could based on the information being given to the American people for our situation. I am assuming many others did the same thing—we all have different risk levels, concerns, etc which drive our individual behavior.

This situation in our history shouldn’t be viewed as complaining, policy arguments with the company, etc. I  don’t view it like perks being cancelled or a difference in FCC. That analogy falls flat—no situation like this to compare it to.

Again, in my opinion, this is unlike anything we have seen in relation to scalability of an industry. Let’s not penalize people over doing due diligence in regards to their health, money, etc by being more proactive then a business who also was trying to figure things out.

I hope NCL allows anyone who cancelled early to retroactively change their mind like Princess did for any sailings that were eventually cancelled. It is the right move.

  11. Literally exact same situation on my other cruise—a supervisor was only able to annotate that I changed my mind and wanted the cash refund. She said it was all still fluid and they didn’t have precise guidance yet—which I understand.  My Peace of Mind CXL was already in process, but she added the change to my notes—I don’t know if they were going to manually cancel or system cancel to process—unprecedented time.

She did instruct me to file for the cash refund on 23 March when they post it online. She said it was important that she document our conversation in my reservation file.

It is such a tough spot for everyone, our cash, their company, their employees. Usually I think I would have overreacted and asked to speak to the President, but trying to give them time to work a few things out. I rather not have money locked up, but I sail quite often so I know I will use the money again. In my head, it is harder, because the money isn’t going to the sailing I wanted.

    Next steps for me-

wait until the 23rd to file online and see if any of the FCC posts before then to my account. I will then take it from there—may give the company more time to update some policies after they receive calls.

Look forward to being back on the water soon—hopefully summertime!

    Cheers-

    Mike

  12. I cancelled today-

If a land based cruise offer I.E. Caesars, etc they are extending that offer even if expired for a year as long as it is booked within seven days from cancelling your cruise for FCC

They also extended that same offer on my NCL CAS offer as well. She did state that new change took effect today as new changes are fluid at the HQ. Again, that was my rep, but she seemed very knowledgeable and booked my new cruises for later in year and early 2021

This info is what I experienced an hour ago...I am not sure what changes are going to happen in the next few days with all the new news....

    Cheers,

    Mike

  13. Rommel and Michael are off to Encore so not sure who is there now.  A few less seats at the bar, but really only that extended portion where a few people used to smoke at. Great setup on there, usual Vibe feel—smaller crowd, great people, great bartender to per guest person ratio.

  14. Spoke with air today. The system automatically books flights 45-65 days out. You cant make any requests to specify time as the system books based off their negotiated contract rates with the carriers. She did state generally they use Delta, United, and American the most.

I checked on a deviation to come in early. It has to be requested prior to the 65 day mark. 25 dollars for one day, 50 dollars two days early.  Again no requests on flight times with the deviation either.

This call was in reference to our trip on the Bliss in April. Hope this helps, i cant comment on anything outside of what the helpful agent told me.

  15. Wants Celebrity to change, but doesn’t realize that he himself may need to change his ridiculous expectations outside the norm of most passengers.

Had a feeling reading this post we weren't talking about a one time thing.  If you want a chuckle, check out OPs history—he may have met with every manager in the history of Celebrity.

Again, I highly recommend a yacht—Opus One at 60 degrees, all bread removed from the yacht, lemons cut in perfect proportion to ensure top notch service for a guest of your stature—Italian trained savant of food and wine and a cruise employees biggest pain in the butt customer.

I pity the upcoming Oceania cruise staff.
