  1. Those happy hours were a big deal to us when we went on our last cruise and we took part in that every day. We still spend lots of money on wine and booze. I think it's likely this will increase smuggling since the booze purchase selection is not adequate. I can't see buying the drink package. I guess I don't want to be drunk all day on vacation. What fun is that???

  2. We always do, for the same reason you do. They do have cheese and crackers usually in the horizon court that you can get and sometimes chips and salsa or guacamole. We brought our own peanuts, some chips and other snacks - after all....It is vacation!!!

  3. I've been on the Riviera deck on this ship under the pool area/trident grill and on the Riviera deck on the Diamond Princess under the Horizon Court and never had any issue with sounds, vacuuming, chairs moving. Occasionally we heard things but it wasn't all day and it never kept any of us awake. If you are super sensitive to noise I'd use earplugs when sleeping. Good luck!!

  4. We purchased a few bottles a year ago on the CB and although more expensive than a liquor store, the value is better than purchasing drinks at the bar. I also enjoyed having a drink mixed in my room and sitting on the balcony. We got about 6-8 drinks per bottle. You order in your cruise personalizer and a coupon is waiting when you get in your room, which you call room service and they will deliver it.

  5. I usually don't chime in on these discussions because it's really personal preference, $, and lifestyle that dictate who chooses what. When we went on the CB back in January we had a sale and declined the package even at discount rates because I don't want something like that dictating how much I drink. We found we drank way less than we planned mostly because there is so much to do and drinking makes me take more naps etc. If I purchased it I would make sure I got my moneys worth each day which is not a good way to enjoy a cocktail in my mind.

  6. When we went snorkeling through a catamaran excursion to the Palancar and Columbia reefs it was great but I would not bring anyone under age 10 on it due to the waves and very fast currents. Even my wife would not snorkel there. I would stick to the shore - Money bar i've heard is very good and it looks safe.

  7. I went to Sergeants Caye back in January. I really liked it and thought the tour guides were fantastic. It was through a Princess excursion. The current was swift so it took some strength to follow along. I heard people complain about the multiple boats and closeness to others, but we did not experience that at all. Plenty of room. They do keep you close to the tour guide though.

  8. I went on the tour back in January. I really liked it. I had heard people say it was crowded but I didn't really think so. They take you off the boat and it was a catamaran as I recall that did not go very fast. It was a comfortable ride in my opinion. They bring you to the reef and assign a tour guide for 8-10 people, so it was very nice to have one guy show us all things and we could kind of go on our own, but needed to stay relatively close to him. If you are not a good swimmer or out of shape, I would consider not going as it can be wavy. We went on the Cozumel tour as well and that was much more wavy. I thought the tour was very good in Belize. I have some videos I did with my CCBetter cam if you want to see pictures.

  9. When I was on the CB in January at Cozumel, they called off the names of 5+ passengers just before we were to leave port - twice as I recall, and we waited until 30 minutes after our designated leave time. Then I saw a group of women running from the port shop area toward the ship and we waited until they were on board. I'm actually surprised they didn't leave.

  10. I was at the Tropicante in January of this year and the snorkeling is not worth it. I've heard Blue Kay is better but I would suggest going to Tropicante and seeing if Steve, the owner, can set up an excursion with your family. They have them right on the beach ready to go. We were told $25 per person to bring you to a reef. Personally, I'd just chill out on the beach at Tropicante and do your snorkeling elsewhere, like Cozumel or Belize if that is part of your itinerary.

  11. I would second Jamon's response. We went there in January and it was very nice. Food was good, we had massages there and did some snorkeling and swimming. Snorkeling is not that good, but it was relaxing. They still did not charge for a chair but you are expected to order your drinks and food there. We spent about $40 for food and a round of drinks. Steve is very nice and makes it a point to visit all his guests personally.
