  1. Hi

we are looking to stay in FLL for a few nights before our cruise in March.

Firstly we have never been here before ( Miami we have been before twice ) , we are wondering where would suit our  needs .
We would like an area that we can walk to dinner , just everyday restaurants nothing fancy , a few shops to take a stroll round . We will be going to Sawgrass one day ,so some proper shopping will be taken care of then . Budget is around £200 per night . Don’t need to be beside a beach . Flying into Miami and travelling up . So which area do I look ? If you have stayed in any hotels here let us know your thoughts. I am happy enough to look for my own hotel if I know which area is best

many thanks in advance . Your knowledge is valued.

  2. Just read this over a few days . Can I just say I don’t like you ! Well maybe I should explain that . I am due to fly out to Sydney in just over 4 weeks , now I wish I had booked a few nights in Singapore. You really made it appealing with all your wonderful photos and reviews. Now I am off to visit your Hawaii review , hopefully I will pick up some tips as we are doing a transpacific cruise,Sydney to San Francisco.

Thank you again for such a great trip , wish I had found it earlier I might have won the prize 🏆.

  3. Hi

the cost of a taxi would be about £6 into the city . This would be for up to four people . Taxis can be booked ahead of time .

Value Cabs a local firm also do tours of the city , price ( going by there website) is £28 per hour ( this is for four people ) and can be suited around you .

If you are walkers it is 1.5 miles into the town from the Titanic building .

If you need ideas of what to do please ask . The Giants Causeway is a hard one to beat . Outstanding beauty.

  4. When in Belfast bring you waterproofs we have had our one day of summer .

But seriously depending on where you are going bring a shower jacket :

if you are going to Giants Causeway it can get a bit windy up there so an extra layer might be needed but occasionally we do get good weather.

If you are just doing hop on hop off bus shorts/ t shirt perfectly ok , of course that is if it is a good day otherwise you might need jeans / sweat top and a rain jacket.

  5. If you do go to Belfast another place to visit is Hillsborough Castle. It is in a small place but can be accessed by a main road , so easily accessible. The gardens have just had a makeover and it has only recently been opened to the public . The house would be your normal stately home but with a lot of interesting facts. It is the Queens main residence in Northern Ireland when she is over.

  6. Hi, I live in Northern Ireland and I would do the Giants Causeway it is fabulous. But if you can get a tour of Belfast included it would be interesting to hear the history, especially if you have never been before. There are a few tours which you could do . If you need any more help please ask and I will do my best to find out for you .

  7. We did a transatlantic in an inside , we only used it to get changed and sleep in . It was a great size . I would now book it again and use the money saved to do other things . We watched ,from the sky lounge ,sailing into New York as we had just finished a quiz. Didn't have time to watch the other ports as we were getting ready to get off or having breakfast so wouldn't have used a balcony then even if we had one . I would book it and give it a try , you won't know until you try it if it's for you. It's just like a hotel room with the curtains closed lol.

  8. I thought it was the Vogie never seen it from above . It has a lovely seafood restaurant called The Quays . I have only been in it a handful of times but do like it. Have an aunt living in Portaferry and have enjoyed some summers there. Nothing like it in the world as Northern Ireland . Do you still have family here ? Have you been back since you moved .? I must say you had one of the most beautiful views in the world.

I live in Lisburn maybe not as beautiful as Portavogie but I still love it.

  9. Just like to say thanks for a great journey , it was a pleasure to sail with you ( well it felt like it ) . Please tell me the place where you grew up , I think I know it . Now I have the great pleasure of being able to read your other reviews. If we don't have any clean clothes next week you know it is your fault , as time flies when reading them . Thanks again .
