We will be in Curacao for nine hours and wish to get a taxi or shuttle bus from the Mega Pier to Playa Porto Marie.  Does anyone know what the rate is for 7 people?  Can you please tell me if there is an admission charge or chair rental fee?  How is the snorkeling?  Thank you.

We were just there last month. admission fee is $3 pp. hours are 9:30am to 6:30pm. They do have chairs and umbrellas to rent but we just used the free chairs by the bar/restaurant since we were only there a couple hours. The water and beach are gorgeous. We did a private tour with Gone Caribe so that was our 3rd stop on the tour. I could have stayed there all day- it was my favorite stop!!

  2. We just went with GONE CARIBE last month and LOVED it. Joseph was the best! Very knowledgeable about the history of the island and took us to the greatest stops. LOVED them!  Playa Porto Marie, Playa Piskado, and Shete Boka National Park. Saw the flamingos also on the last stop. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  3. I wanted to give a review of the tour we did with GONE CARIBE with our stop in Curacao on Allure of the Seas last month, Sept 2022. Let me say this was one of the BEST private tours we have ever done.  I was searching for something fun to do and see the beauty of the island and the West End Beaches. I went straight to the Curacao boards here on Cruise Critic. I found exactly what I was looking for from the recommendations of fellow cruisers.  I contacted GONE CARIBE online and got a reply right away.

Our custom tour with Joseph who was born and raised on the island included the following stops:

Shete Boka National Park- turtle nests,  coves, crashing waves, underground cave, volcanic rocks, corals, walking trails and inlets.

Playa Piskado- swimming with the turtles, beautiful beaches.

Playa Porto Marie- gorgeous beach for swimming, snorkeling, relaxing, full service bar and restaurant

Flamingo Watching-flamingos on the salt lakes of Sint Willibrodus.

This was a very informative tour and we all loved it. I highly recommend this company!! Curacao was beautiful and we were happy to be able to experience it this way.

We have a 2.5 almost 3 year old that is going to be traveling with us.  Do you think this gone turtles tour is something that she could go on?  I'd like to see the turtles but I'm not a huge snorkeler but if we were nearby them and the water was something you could wade in and we could hold her that might be neat.

There is a pier you can walk down to see the turtles swimming in the water below you without going in, you can see them from the pier.  However if you do go in, it is deep where the turtles are swimming.  The water was rough last month because of the hurricane. Joseph told us it was not normally like that but he was prepared bringing us life vests. We were able to get in and swim with life vests and snorkel equipment. I would recommend water shoes as well because there was coral shells on the beach part where you get in.

Was this done with the cruise line? Do they pick you up from the cruise port?

No, this is not with the cruise line. This is a private company. We just used them last month while on Allure of the Seas. Had the BEST day ever with Joseph. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I see good reviews n bad on shuttle for SAS trans. Besides that service is QLS or Uber our best bet getting from FLL airport taking to Miami hotel?

I just used them 2 week ago for the 20th time or so and had GREAT service as usual. They never make you wait,

and have your flight arrival time on the radar when to pick you up exactly. Steve fits your schedule together like a puzzle.

He is the master!  VERY HAPPY with SAS.

  7. We’ve done pretty much everything there is to do on Cozumel that doesn’t include getting hammered at an AI and these days we just go straight to Paradise Beach. We started taking our kids there back in the mid 90s before the property expanded to include a pool. My son and I have done tandem parasailing when he was younger. They loved the water toys. The pool is probably the best one in Cozumel that is available to cruise passengers. Service is excellent. The food is always great and now there is a “taco truck” and the fish tacos are some kinda good. We’ll be back there in October and I can’t wait.

Was just there Aug 15th 2018. The pool is incredible no doubt. It was really crowded there this time, due to 5 ships in port, so the word it out. The Taco truck was out of commission and the fish tacos were not available. We ended up getting the regular beef tacos that were excellent! It took a very long time to get our food and orders due to the crowd. Once our food did come, they forgot to bring the plates, napkins and silverware. I asked the asst waiter but he never did bring them. We were so hungry we just ate from the basket they came in. No doubt its a great place to go but when its crowded make sure you order food early!

  8. We were at Paradise Beach Club Aug 15th and the seaweed was really bad. It smelled horrible. Most of us just stayed at the pool area, but our teens did the inflatables all day at the beach area. They didn't seem to mind it. I have a picture of it I can email you if you want. Just use my screen name above and add @msn.com

  9. Doing GC on March 25. Due to this being a sunday, all of the usual tours are not available. I tried to book with NativeWay, but they were sold out for the one that I wanted, i.e. Stingray City, Coral Garden and Starfish and suggested that I use Captain Marvin's. However, I did not like Captain Marvin's for these stops. I saw Acquarius on TA, they leave from Seven-Mile Beach instead of the tender drop off. Anyone used them before?

Yes, I have used Acquarius twice before and highly recommend. I used Capt Marvin years ago and Acquarius was much better. I found them on TA and everything was fantastic. Capt Mario catered to our teens and my 10 yr old niece. He makes sure everyone gets the best experience, almost like a one on one, that is possible with the small group he takes out. I would never use a ship tour for this! I liked how they do a 3rd stop to starfish beach, plus take pics of you and send them to you via drop box for FREE. No one else does that. Most charge a huge fee to get a disc. That is a huge bonus using Acquarius. I also liked how they gave us pizza, water and fruit punch. They are very organized picking you up at the pier, getting you on their boat, and are all experts at handling the stingrays. I have also written reviews on TA on my experience there with pictures. I am planning a trip back there next yr with our group of 10, and have already sent a reservation. A word of advise is book early, because they do fill up!! enjoy!

  10. Just got off the Navigator of the Seas 9 night cruise to the ABC islands and wanting to see if anyone had any questions. About 24 hours removed now, but didn't see any other posts so wanted to put this out there. Overall the cruise was amazing and I am now officially diamond. Let me know if you have questions and I am happy to answer.

Do you have the compass for the week?

  11. We booked massage at the Renaissance and just walked right up to the beach/infinity pool. Had full access to towels while there and nobody questioned us at all. Anne Marie and Tiffany were WONDERFUL! I know it's not the thing for everyone but it was fantastic for our anniversary cruise!!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

What was the cost of massages? was it right there on the beach??

  12. I agree with others...Paradise Beach is a pretty large place with a lot of room and it's beautiful there!

We were just there last month and I did a review that is loaded with TONS of pictures if you are interested in seeing them. Just click on my link in my signature line and it will take you there. :)

Thank you so much for the pics you posted on Paradise Beach! They are gorgeous!!

  13. How did you figure out how many ships would be in Cozumel on a particular date? I would like to know as well, We will be in Cozumel on 12/16/17

    There is a website cruisett.com

( cruise time table) just type in your port of call, month, day and year and it will list what ships will there with you.

  14. Hey all, I will be taking the breeze to cozumel soon and I want to go to Moneybar to snorkel but I can't swim very well. I will be bringing my own mask and snorkel but does anyone know if they have fins and a life vest to rent? And do you know the approximate price? Thanks!

I just sent Tiger a message and he said its $20 for the day for fins, mask and vest.

He has his office set up there with his boat, and does great snorkel tours. I did it before and its really fun!

tigersadventures.com if anyone is interested. Great day!

  15. Money Bar offers good snorkeling from the shore, no admission fee, good facilities, great service, food & drinks, and is only a $11 cab ride from the piers. No beach - you enter the water via steps - but lots of fish to see!

We went there and went with Tigers Adventures on his boat. Great snorkeling and fun at El Ceilo. He made Margaritta's, had Corona, bottled water, soda, and served fresh fruit, chips and home made guacamole.

It was a fun day!! I booked him ahead of time thru his paypal Fb page. We stayed at the patio after the tour.

  16. We were on the Breakaway sailing Oct 1, the week before you. It was CHAO's getting OFF the ship Oct 8, so that's probably why your embarkation was a nightmare.

The ship was 2 hrs late getting into port. Apparently a small ship was docked at the pier where Breakaway was supposed to be. You know what rolls down hill??? need I say more?? Walk off's were not called until 9am!

ppl were standing everywhere on deck 7 and 8 trying to get off. We stood in line for 2 hrs. only to finally get

to street level in the pouring rain. We had a 1pm flight at LGA we almost missed. We agreed, we would much

rather sail from FLORIDA any day.

  17. You can get a van/taxi right off the ship near where the excursions leave from and when you get ready to leave to go back to the ship there is usually a taxi there. You can rent chairs and umbrellas when you get there. There is also a little store there we bought water from cheaper than the ship water. It worked for us because we were able to do it at the times we wanted rather then the excursion time.

Where is the store where you purchased the water? At the pier or at Divi???
