  1. We are contemplating a "last minute" booking on the Grandeur of the Seas in September. Only late dining is available, early dining + MTD is waitlisted. We are travelling with a baby, so late dining would not be an option for us. Does anyone have any experience if the waitlist or Maitre d' will come through in such a situation? I have seen other posts that people had luck with the waitlists when their booking was months out, but we are cutting it pretty close.

It is supposed to be 12/31/2022 but they probably will need to extend that.  I have had 9 cancelled and still have $20,000 left to spend. I suspect they will cancel my November 2021 which will send another $9000 back to me. I already have a bunch booked next year fully paid already.

Thanks for your response, Steve! Does this mean if I book something for December 2022 with the FCC now and have to cancel that trip I would lose the entire FCC if they don’t extend it? I am new to NCL and we are not sure if we can go next year due to (COVID-unrelated) medical reasons.

Thank you! I understand that there are three procedures to obtain a sample for rapid testing (deep in the nasal cavity, back of the throat, and nasal swab).  Not sure how the contractors NCL hires are going to go about it, and would be curious to know what other cruise lines have been doing.

If they are using the BinaxNow test, it will only be a nasal swab in the front of the nose (about 1/2 to 3/4 inch as described). I got one of those tests done by Delta before. It doesn’t hurt.

Easy enough to figure out. Check your credit card account. If the charge is there, see if it says the TA business name or NCL.
If it says the TA business name, and you’re in the US, that’s not a good thing. The standard in the US is that the TA takes your CC info and immediately provides it to the cruise line who then charges your card.

In some other countries, TA’s charge your card and then make their own payments. IMO that’s a really BAD practice. But, apparently, it’s not unusual.

In any case, your CC account record will give you some clarity. And, if the TA screwed up, it should pay any fines.

Thanks for your response. My credit card shows NCL. However, the amount is for the amount shown on my initial invoice. It looks like there was an additional promo that either wasn't applied or gets applied separately? Hopefully, the travel agency and NCL will get it straightened out tomorrow.

  5. I booked a cruise on Saturday and paid it in full with a credit card - no future cruise credits etc. I received a confirmation from the travel agency that it was paid in full.

Today, I called Norwegian to add the transfer. They are saying the cruise wasn't paid in full and I owe them ~$300 in addition to the transfer cost. My travel agent is closed today. Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks!
