  1. I think you start out by buying the Discover shopping guide and using the coupon at one of the featured stores to get started. The first one costs $5 then the rest are free. DI stands for Diamond International. It gives me a reason to cruise to all the ports! I wish I had done it last year in Alaska now that I've started the Caribbean ones. See, here's the reason the promo works...now I have to go back to Alaska!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$5 lol. I’ve never paid for a one and have many multiples.

  2. I'm not a newbie, but I almost am! We took our first cruise with our then 2 year old on the Triumph in Sept 2015. However, this time we are cruising on the Magic from Port Canaveral on Sept. 3rd. We are traveling with my parents and my MIL, all three of whom are first time cruisers. I'm planning everything and want everything to go as smoothly as possible. I'm a serial planner and like to have as much taken care of as possible beforehand.

So my first questions involve the Bottomless Bubbles program. Ive searched the boards and nothing super recent come up, so I just wanted to confirm some things. 1.) This is still warm cans of pop poured over ice, right? 2.) If we decide that, 3 days in, we want the bottomless bubbles package, do they prorate it per day? Is it even possible to purchase on the ship? 3.) Is apple juice free? My now four year old drinks apple juice like its going out of style, so knowing we have apple juice on standby would be great. He wasnt drinking it last time we went, so I cant remember.

Question two. My dad uses a C-Pap machine. Ive read that people bring extension cords for them to reach the plug. So I have a small extension cord on my list. However, I just remembered the whole distilled water thing. Can we bring a bottle of distilled water for the machine? Is it something I can purchase to be in our room when we get there or will they supply it?

Thank you so much for your help. l may have a billion more questions later, so I appreciate all of your help!!

    Bring your own reusable cups.

    Distilled water yes.

Hide the extension cord in the middle of your cord just in case

It can not be a surge protector

    We loved the magic.

  3. It's $6,700 for the four of us and that's cruise only. We still have to fly out to Florida.

This cruise has Star Wars characters on it and my son loves Star Wars. So, my wife asked me to price out a cruise and see if's it's feasible. For $6,7000 and probably another $1,400 for flights...I think not...

Your nuts id you do it. Would love to have that kind of money to throw away.

  4. Isn't the answer clear what you did wrong... this is like talking to my kids. You obviously already know and displayed your ignorance on this matter. Why seek additional punishment by posting this in the first place? Quite the conundrum[emoji848]

  5. There was no fine print to read because I was on the phone and not near a computer. Once I gave her the credit card number it was all over. So you are telling me it's my responsibility to ask them all of the questions. I thought they were to let me know if a certain rate was non refundable or not.

Yes. It’s your money, ask questions.

  6. So I called Carnival and booked two inside cabins. Paid the $500 per cabin, only to have something come up a couple of weeks later that was not going to allow me to go. I called to Cancel the two cabins and Carnival said you lose $50 per person and we can hold the rest of your $500 per cabin for a future cruise. So they never told me when I booked these cabins that they were early saver and non refundable. When I printed the confirmation I never knew I had to read every bit of the fine on the ticket contract all the way to the bottom. That wouldn't have mattered because they had my money end of discussion! So what did I do wrong?

It is YOUR job to read the fine print, your job to read what you are book, your job to do your research before making the commitment, Devil is in the details dear.

And you didn’t handle the details.

This is your love and learn lesson to do a better job next time or get a travel agent who can. *They are free*

  7. Am I the only one? I love to travel, and I've only been on two cruises - both with Princess Cruise lines. The first was to Mexico in 2010 and the second was to Alaska a couple months ago. After the first, I said I'd rather not do it again, but so many people convinced me to give it another shot. Unfortunately the Alaska cruise was the worst travel experience I've ever had. The customer service was UNBELIEVABLY BAD! I had such a traumatizing experience, all I could think about upon disembarking was contacting Princess Customer Relations. I thought for sure they would be appalled and send me an apology letter or something. But after 6 attempts, they are still ignoring me. If I were to behave this way in my own business, I'd surely be fired. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Princess cruise there’s your problem. Royal Caribbean!!!

  8. Hi there and welcome. There are many threads on walkie talkies and the majority of veteran cruisers suggest the best advice is to please not bring them on your cruise. Sometimes they don't work through the walls of the ship, and in addition they can be terribly annoying to your fellow passengers as they squeak and squawk. You've asked for advice, and no offense but I would not want to be near someone who is using them.

Never pay in full until you have to. Only pay the deposit. Lessons learned. Always read the print.

  11. Well it seems that maybe our voices have been heard. Too much negativity is not good for business. Thanks to whomever it was that made the decision to go back to the original menu at the Mast grill. As crazy as it seems, this was a major disaster averted. Maybe the camels back didn't break, but it is still bent. Please continue to hear the cries of us who want to continue to sail with you. This was a good start. We have a lot of good folks here with some great ideas, as well as, a few other pretty important complaints that should be checked out.

Yeah greasy wheels always get the cheese. Blah blah. Few people do not represent the masses that sail with them.

  12. No, soda is served in individual glasses. If a person wants a refillable large cup, it must be brought on board or purchased on board. Perhaps you're confusing Royal Caribbean, where large cups are part of the soda program.

We were on carnival last year I thought they had them too. If wrong sorry.

But she should go to the FAQ section.

Yes you can purchase it on the ship. Yes you can bring a thing of distilled water.

There is a great FAQ section on the carnival site with tons of answers.

  15. I contemplated whether or not to start this thread because but I can't quote a news source yet, but from what I've been told by my professional contacts in the area, a woman was killed by her husband last night on board the ship. I'll pass more details as they become public. A press release was supposedly issued, so we should be seeing on-line news sources reporting very soon.

Yep. He said she would not stop laughing at him. He bashed her head in.

  16. Hypothetical question....Carnival opens up a checkin time of 4-430 am....it's only a group of 50 people and you have to arrive between 4-430 am....if you come out 431, no dice....you can't get on the ship until it's has cleared customs and has been disembarked from previous cruise, etc and that should be around 1130 am, but you are the first group to board and your room is ready....do you do it? Wait in the terminal 7+ hours but you get on the ship first?

I assume you meant 4pm. Get on as soon as you can and start enjoying the fun. We have never got on when our pass said. Always by noon.

  17. We've always arrived early for cruises.

I just saw in a review of Magic that he saw passengers stopped because they arrived earlier at Port Canaveral than they were supposed to. Will we actually be prevented from boarding if we arrive early? I wanted to be eating by 12 p.m. not just starting to board!!

We have gotten on earlier than our boarding time every cruise we've been on. Which is 6 cruises, 4 last 4 years. Carnival and Royal C.

Been on by noon on all of them.
