  1. The president and founder of this TA are having a group cruise. Special pricing, perks, onboard parties for their clients.

Just sent in reservation for April 28, 2019 TransAtlantic Cruise on Edge. Will post details when I get confirmation. Terry Special pricing is NOT so special!

  2. I wish we could get close to double those prices in the UK. Just priced up 14 nts on Silhouette in the Med for Sept 2019 and a balcony is over £2700pp, and this is supposedly a discounted launch fare.

Now I know Sterling has depreciated since we kicked the EU into touch, but last year we paid £1700pp for 14 nts to the Baltic on Eclipse, now that's greedy and extortionate.

Hope you read the fine print which says prices available AFTER FINAL PAYMENT DATE. This is usually 74 days before the ship sails. We have been offered a 7 night cruise to Alaska for $99 but it was 24 hours before the ship sailed! Terry

  3. Is this $50 discount applied automatically or do we have to ask for it?

If you use a travel agent have them be sure the credit is applied to both cruises for all passengers. If not you will need to deal with Celebrity booking folks to be sure you are being properly charged (credited). It is not automatic unless you do like we do and book onboard and get a print out showing the credit. Terry

  4. Last cruise was transatlantic with Celebrity and they offered OBC on a future transatlantic that was only good if you booked while onboard. I did take advantage because normally transatlantic cruise are priced low with no perks offered. In this case it was an offer for prepaid gratuities which to us was like an OBC. TERRY

  5. Not sure you need cases of water when you arrive. Your drink package lets you pick up a small or large bottle of water at Cafe A Bacchio or any bar or in the Oceanview Cafe (buffet) or as you leave the ship on a tour. We would each get a large water when we got on the ship and took it to the room for taking pills and drinking in the room. Go to the main dining room as soon as you get on the ship. They are prepared to move you to a table that suits you. Lots of 2 tops available. Wheelchairs or scooters can be parked nearby you cabin if It will not fit in your cabin. By off limits dining not sure if you mean specialty dining that has a surcharge or Blu dining room for Aquasuite passengers or what. When main dining room does not offer breakfast or lunch you always have Oceanview buffet. There is also no cost room service. There is lunch of burgers and fries and hot dogs near the pool. Do not miss the aqua spa cafe that is open to all seating is very limited but you can take the food away and eat by the pool. We love all the Celebrity Solstice class ships and they get first crack at our cruise dollars. Hope this keeps you from having a bad surprise. Terry

  6. One of the online sites offers to check for discounts based on age and residence and first responders and teachers and past cruisers as well as military. Never hurts to see if your cruise offers you some kind of discount before final payment. One time it saved me some $900 by checking on a military discount on a cruise I already booked. 7. There is a way to have alcohol in your cabin for a cruise. Book back to back. They will put the alcohol from your first cruise in your cabin the last night of the first cruise. We had lots of Ruby passengers do back to back last Med cruise of the summer then reposition back to Florida. We almost had more wine than we could drink. (I said ALMOST [emoji6] Terry

  8. We are able to leave clothes on hangers and pack suitcases on turnaround morning. Cabin steward will move everything to new room. Ship had all b2b people walk off ship using old keys and walk back on using new keys around 10 AM. We were able to go to new room and unpack. B2b folks had special lunch in main dining room around 11:30. Some were given new keys to take off ship for touring at the port and could bypass check in at pier and go straight to ship when tour was over. Easy and painless even when changing rooms. 9. wouldn't that only assure you access early on the second leg of your b2b not on the first cruise

LOL Sorry. Just making light of another perk of booking b2b. The first leg access depends on them getting your cabin ready but the point was if you require early access for a reason they will work with you to resolve the need for early access. Others have posted about using the spa dressing rooms to shower and change clothes. Bringing a bathing suit and using the pool and hot tub. Another perk of b2b is lunch in the MDR which is for b2b guests only. We have 3 or rather 6 cruises booked so it is 6 short cruises which turn into 3 long cruises with all the b2b perks. 10. If you want to be first off the ship you need to sign up for walk off. You will need to carry off all your bags. The timing is not all on the ship. Customs and immigration have been the cause of many delays. My advice would be to request to leave the ship around 8 and you would go get your luggage and go thru customs and immigration. Then you should have your transport wait for you to call as you finish customs. Not sure if there is a CELL lot to wait. He can find the nearest wait area and wait for your call for pickup. Hope this helps. Terry

  11. If you want to be sure you have immediate access to your cabin on sail away day you can do what we do and book back to back to back to (you get the picture). If there is a reason you must get to the cabin earlier (refrigerated Meds etc) you can get a customer service officer to help. Terry

  12. 10 percent? Wow now THAT'S worth doing! VIking Ocean required we pay in full for our Christmas week cruise a whopping 10 months in advance and no discount

You were eligible for a 3% discount but only if you paid by bank draft. Terry

  13. Do not understand your question. Do restaurants charge you per table? The cruise lines feed everybody on the cruises I take. Do you want to see pricing like the airlines who charge per passenger. What prompted you to look for some way to pay a set fee for a cabin and allow you to fill the cabin with as many people as possible. Those who pay a single supplement (most times that means pay for 2 when only 1 is sailing) may have a valid reason to look for a cruise line that charges per person and not per cabin. In short there is a way to book per cabin. Book for one to get the per cabin price. Then you are able to bring somebody free as you paid the "per cabin" price. [emoji28]

  14. Celebrity invites Captains Club members to Sailaway on the helo pad. You will have to bring invitation and photo ID to be escorted. If the invite is for a different port than you want I guess the Captains Club host/hostess can take your request. I think they limit the numbers that are invited. I only remember being invited to one of the ports and not every port. Terry

  15. We spent a week in London pre cruise and did the tube and bus add on. We were glad we did. When we told Londoners on the cruise all we did for the week and the cost they said we did more in one week than they did their whole life. If the Queen is on holiday Buckingham palace is a must see. We can recommend Q Gardens and Warwick Castle and Bath an Stonhenge and the Cottswalds for day trips. The nicest surprise was a behind the scenes tour of Albert Hall. West End theatre with discount tickets was so much cheaper than New York. There is an office for London pass folks to visit and get updates on what is going on. Good luck with max sightseeing at minimum cost. Terry

  16. I use the hand held dryer on low setting for my socks. I bring my nylon socks that dry faster. Cotton socks take longer to dry. I fit the sock over the end of the dryer and it is like blowing up a balloon. I drape small items over the lamp shade with the light on. Even the CFL bulbs generate some heat to speed drying. To help minimize wrinkles I hang clothing in the shower with the hot shower creating a steam bath. Then I use the blow dryer and smooth out remaining wrinkles by hand. Not perfect but good enough. Our cruise clothes we buy now we try to stick with wrinkle free. Terry
