We are leaving on our Alaska cruise on 6/6 and I'm wondering if it's worth buying the wifi package? Also, is it better to buy before we leave or on ship if we do? Thanks!

I emailed them this morning asking about our excursion on June 9th. We are scheduled to do the bus up and train down. I asked if train isn't running then could we do bus both ways.

The train station has announced that they will be back up and running tomorrow morning.

If something does occur that affects your tour on the day of your arrival we will have a 'plan B' in place which normally involves offering our bus only tours.

The 8:30AM Yukon Rail & Bus Excursion arrives back to Skagway at approximately 4:15PM.

That's scary if it happens all of the time!! We are suppose to go 6/9. Hope they get everything fixed by then!!

Oh no!!! Praying for no more rain for awhile!!! We are scheduled to take the train on June 9th! Hope things are better by then. This is the only excursion I was worried about not booking through Princess. We are doing the bus/train combo to Emerald lake (8 hour tour). Our ship is in port until 8:30 pm. we should get back around 4:30 so we'll have a 4 hour buffer for mishaps but this is making me nervous!!!

Keep the updates coming!! We board the Island Princess on June 6 but are going Southbound. Any cabin info you have would be great. Also, how's the food?

We are going on Alaskan cruise in June. I've never heard of the Chef's table before but thinking it might be a fun thing to do for my husband's birthday. What do you do and what night is it normally? Cost? Thanks!!

Both have similar tours in Skagway up to Emerald Lake except on the Dyea Dave tour you buy your own train ticket back down and the Chilkoot one it is included in price and they have their own cars on the back of the train. My question is - do you have assigned seats on train if you purchase tickets on your own? Is train crowded? Or Do you think it's better to do the Chilkoot one with designated car for their tours on train?

Any info you have regarding these tours is greatly appreciated.

We are interested in taking the Bennett Scenic Journey in Skagway which is 8 hours long. Our cruise the Island Princess is in port from 7:00-8:30. On the tour website it says for our ship the tour would start at 9:30 so that would put us getting back at 5:30. Even though our ship doesn't leave until 8:30, has anyone ever had issues with tours/trains running late? I know we have a 3 hour cushion but it still makes me a little nervous.

Also, any reviews on this tour?

We will be arriving on the evening of 6/2 in Anchorage for our cruise on 6/6 out of Whittier. We were originally thinking Denali for a couple days before. Is this something you would recommend? Are there other places we could drive to and see that you feel are better than Denali?

Any input you have is great. We would love to see animals and my husband would also be interested in fishing somewhere before our cruise if we don't do Denali.

We have always wanted to go on a cruise to Alaska and are finally in the planning stages for next June but I have no idea on which one to choose. Can you help us?

Here are some of our wants and questions.

1. We definitely want to see Glacier Bay so are looking for a ship that goes there. So we have been looking at Princess Cruise out of Whittier to Vancouver. Is this a good one? Do any other ships go to Glacier Bay? And of them round trip or not?

2. Is it better to do Southbound or Northbound trip versus Round Trip? We are a little worried about the airfare to Alaska - they don't have pricing out yet.

3. We have gone back and forth between a room with a balcony versus a mini-suite. Is the mini-suite really worth the price difference?

4. How soon should we book? I'm assuming NOW??

5. Is it better to go through a travel agent or not?

6. Would you recommend Princess Cruises?
