Technically "no".  But if you go near guest services in the 24 hours before disembarking, you will see extremely long lines of cranky looking people.  They aren't standing there to get luggage tags.

Maybe I’m a rarity but I was actually in line the night before to get additional luggage tags. I did notice 1 cranky person only because he was loud, otherwise I couldn’t tell why others were in line.

  2. This was the wording on my cancellation email,  “Carnival will honor this offer for any guests who were previously booked on these voyages and cancelled their booking on or after March 6, 2020.”

Carnival cancelled our cruise on June 22nd (sail date was in 8/22/2020). They honored cancellations from March 6th onward, so yes you can get the OBC if you cancelled before Carnival does. The only caveat is that you’ve canceled on or after the date in your email.

I cancelled one of my 14 day cruises 2 weeks before Carnival cancelled it. Has anyone had any luck being able to get the $600 OBC that would have been received for rebooking in this situation?

Yes, you can still get the OBC. We had about 9 cabins that cancelled 2-3 weeks before Carnival officially cancelled, they honored the OBC for each cabin.

    Hello all,

Does anyone have a sense of what Carnival might do with their Alaska cruises in April?  Since Canada is not allowing cruise ships over 500 people to dock in Canadian ports until July 1 the requirement for a foreign port becomes a real issue for Alaska cruises.

We are booked to sail out of Vancouver to Alaska on 4/19.  Since there are no other 'foreign' ports in the area I don't see them having any other options, but I haven't received any information that the cruise has been officially cancelled.  My guess is they're taking cancellations in order and since we weren't scheduled to leave until 4/19 we're not on the radar yet.

I'm assuming they'll have to cancel so I'm waiting for official word--I'd like to apply the FCC and potential OBC to an upcoming Hawaii cruise in September, but I'd like to cancel the air tickets to Vancouver since we're on United and only given to the end of April (as of now) to request a refund.

Anyone else see a way that Carnival might not cancel the cruise?

I’m waiting on any news for Alaskan Cruises as well. We are on the 4/20 sailing departing from Vancouver returning to Seattle.

I honestly don’t see how they can’t cancel these sailings.

Princess also has a revised cancellation policy due to the Coronavirus.  If you choose to keep your reservation, you will be entitled to OBC --- offer applies to certain cruises --- there is a big thread on the subject on the Princess board.  I am pretty sure other lines with follow with some kind of a revised cancellation policy.

Thank you. We are sailing on Carnival. As of yesterday they've revised their cancellation policy, and they are also offering an OBC.

My dad said still wants to cruise, so we are going.

  6. We are scheduled (April) to fly into Seattle. Our cruise departs from Vancouver and returns to Seattle. We have plans to spend the night in Seattle before taking the train to Vancouver. Not sure now what we'll do as my dad, who's in his eighties, is sailing with us. I'm waiting to see if the cruise line offers penalty free cancellations before we make a final decision.

  7. This happened to my family, didn't have to cancel and rebook. I notified RCI that agent he did want to release the bookings (a total of 8 cabins), they said he had no choice. I had to submit the transfer form for each cabin and a letter of why I wanted it removed from him.

We lost the few perks that the TA had promised, however we had no faith that he would come thru with those anyway.

  8. We were not the only people up there as many groups decided to be up on top for fresh air than being inside

This is my family, this became our embarkation and disembarking meeting place You also had a couple of pictures of my son and niece, both were participants in the sexy man contest (she was a judge). My son is normally a quiet kid, his brother goaded him into the competition. For the rest of the trip we never let him forgot about it. So it was a complete horror to him when I showed him your pictures. :D

I have really enjoyed your review, its been fun re-living the events of our trip. Thank you!

  9. I was the guilty one. I asked a question on here and then realized it might not get seen since I was hijacking someone else's thread and I started my own.

No worries. It's still no cause for rudeness, they have could have simply ignored your question.

  10. See the answer in the other thread you started with this question.

You can not be referring to me as this is the first time I have even posted on the Celebrity board. But I am referring to you when I say you are rude!

  11. That's interesting! Best to call Celebrity.

When is your cruise? Is it a Suite?

    Fine print

Its an aqua class, 05/2016. I am going to call when I get home to get a concrete answer from them.

  12. I just booked an Alaska cruise using the reduced deposit of $25.00 p.p. Upon receiving the confirmation it says "Deposit of $500.00 is due by 13 JAN 2015,5:00 PM EST".

For those who have booked this week is your full deposit also due so soon?

  13. Another great Brianna cruise review, with your twin aka mom included this time! It's very sweet of you to treat to parents to an anniversay cruise. I always say that daughters give the best anniversay presents. I keep throwing hints to my boys about Alaska, not sure they are getting the idea though. :p

You are on the only ship that I have cruised on twice. I really like the Pride not to big or small. I can't wait for her to get the 2.0 upgrades though, just for Guy's Burgers and The Alchemy Bar.

  14. Have you ever stayed in a Lido balcony on the Liberty? Tell me ALL about it, please!!! I've never been on the Liberty at all and I see the Lido has a different setup than what I'm used to. We've done the interior on the Breeze before and were thrilled. Now, a balcony on the Lido of the Liberty...but just want to hear if you were happy, issues, etc..

What's good about it??? Anyone had a cabin right up next to the Lido? How far is it to the door? I know on the Breeze we were, like, 30 seconds from the Lido door! :p

Can you walk back and take the Lido dining room elevator up to the dining room? Or do you have to walk to the middle and do the elevator and walk back?

We were in 9249, last year, on the Liberty. I loved the location. It was super convenient. I would grab breakfast from the buffet while my DH was getting ready, and my food would still be hot when I returned to the cabin. :p

We were about 15-20 seconds from the all the Lido deck action, and never heard a peep when in our cabin or on the balcony. I guess the cabin areas are well insulated.

I believe we used the mid-section elevators and then walked over via another deck to access the dining room. Whenever possible, my preference now is to stay on the Lido deck.
