  1. We just got back from an Alaskan Dream Cruise aboard the Baranof Dream. Our 10 day S. E. Alaska cruise was everything we could have hoped for and more. We liked the emphasis on learning about native Alaskans, the nature we were seeing and adventures. It's different from Uncruise because they kayak/bushwhack every day. There was an onboard naturalist and cultural guide on board throughout the cruise and we had a Tinglet cultural guide and park ranger for two and one half days. Our ship was allowed to stay in Glacier Bay overnight which is very rare. We had access to the bridge just about anytime we wanted, delicious food (break, lunch, cookie time, social hour and 5 course dinners) every day plus wine/beer at dinner. The company supports local companies and has built up a relationship with many small towns that don't allow other lines to dock at. There were 46 passengers on our ship, just the right amount. I will post a review in a few days and will be happy to answer any questions.

  2. I can confirm they work. You can get them when your first board in the Royal Promenade and use them immediately. They will be programmed with any beverage package you purchase beforehand. One of your sea passes will be outside of your cabin right above your cabin number and the other sea pass will be on your bed. We found it easier to also carry the sea pass for bar purchases while at the pool, shows, etc so the waiter could take it with them.

  3. Robert,

Would you please find out if you can call and leave a message on your cabin phone and then retrieve it from another phone? I have the Royal Q app but my husband doesn't have a smart phone to use so I thought this might be a way to leave messages for one another.

Leave the ship in good shape, we're on it next week!

  4. Once we had a balcony booked on the hump and Royal really wanted it (they had booked a large group on the deck and wanted the room) so they offered me $200 OBC to move. I had my choice of rooms in that category and since we were so far out from sailing I snagged an aft balcony. Is there anything available you could live with and see if they will set you up with it?

  5. It depends on what you intend to do with the pictures. We bought the CD so my daughter could use them along with ones we took in a photo album. It was a special cruise for us with my mother and our children. We don't buy one when it's just my husband and I. Sometimes the cruise will have a buy 10 at $180 or so you can buy beforehand. If you've cruised before and are a Crown and Anchor member you will get a coupon in that for a picture at a discounted rate.

  6. I am trying to decide between two excursions with St Thomas Scuba and Snorkel Adventures. The first is "Multi Beach Adventure" in which you are taken by a vehicle to two beaches, one on the Atlantic side and the other on the Caribbean side. The other choice is "Secret Caves and Beaches Boat Charter" in which you board a boat in Hull Bay and to to two reefs on the north side, stop at a secluded beach and also swim into a small cave. Both offer the same amount of time snorkeling. For those of you that have taken either of these tours, please offer me your opinion and experiences. I already know I'm going to book this company, just can't decide which tour! We've been to St. Thomas two other times so we've seen the scenic spots on the island and have also done a small snorkel charter. Here's the link to the main site st thomas adventures dot com.

    Thank you.
